Eine Jurte ist eine zeltähnliche kreisförmige Stoffstruktur mit einem Holzgitterrahmen, der von den Nomadenstämmen in Asien stammt. Diese dauerhaften, farbenfrohen Strukturen haben dicke Außenwände aus Segeltuch, die eine reflektierende Isolierung und eine hocheffiziente Wärmepumpen- / Wechselstromeinheit enthalten, sodass Sie sich zu jeder Jahreszeit wohlfühlen können. Our yurt was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Lots of space to spread out and the grounds were wonderful. A great place to come "home" to after being out hiking and biking. So peaceful in Southwest Harbor. Our only complaint was the small shower and limited number of towels for 5 days. On site laundry was great too.

Little Yurt in the Big Woods

What a charming, cute, comfortable place!! We loved our stay near beautiful Acadia National Park in this cozy and unique setting and would absolutely come again. Quiet and pretty, offered everything we needed, and the hosts were so nice!

The best managed property I have ever stayed at. Superb communication with Aaron and Karen. We cooked in every night and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The pots and pans and dishes and glassware were high quality and the kitchen was spotless.
A delightful spot to enjoy a cappuccino and a bowl of oatmeal!
What a wonderful feeling to walk into the Yurt. It was spacious, well appointed and so clean!

Anniversary trip turned into engagement moon!

Owners were very quick with communications and we were even able to extend our stay. Yurt was comfortable with all amenities within. Loved having private bath and kitchen. Felt like home for us. Centrally located to everything that we wanted to. We were able to visit the park and bar harbor everyday. Already planning on coming back and staying for our honeymoon.

He has worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years beginning as a prep cook in high school then moving toward general manager. Aaron's favorite extracurricular activity is learning all he can about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As often as he can, he trains locally and loves sharing this passion with others.

Karen is a transplant. Originally from Chicago she made her way to Maine in 2009 and fell in love immediately. In Acadia she enjoys hiking, trail running, yoga, and long walks on the carriage roads. Karen has been teaching yoga locally for over 6 years and now brings her practice to the Wellness Center (located on site at Acadia Yurts). Karen is also a licensed massage therapist and offers services onsite (pending availability).

As a couple we have done quite a bit of traveling and through that we have narrowed down the particular way we like to travel. The biggest factor for us is having a furnished kitchen in order to prepare health minded foods to nourish our bodies and support all our outdoor activities. The idea for Acadia Yurts has been brewing for quite some time. Friends of ours live off the grid in a yurt and we greatly appreciate the rustic, romantic feel of the yurt but wanted some of the comforts of home; running water, heat, electricity. From there Acadia Yurts was born. We truly hope you enjoy our property and your time here as much as we do.
