Das Acadia Yurts befindet sich auf einem 5 Hektar großen, bewaldeten Grundstück inmitten des Acadia-Nationalparks und bietet einen ruhigen Rückzugsort für Ihre Gruppe (bis zu 4 Gäste pro 24 'Jurte, 6 Gäste für die 30' Jurte oder 2 Gäste pro Tiny House). Acadia Yurts ist auch ideal für große Reisegruppen mit Unterkünften für bis zu 34 Personen an einem Ort.

Eine Jurte ist eine zeltähnliche kreisförmige Stoffstruktur mit einem Holzgitterrahmen, der von den Nomadenstämmen in Asien stammt. Diese dauerhaften, farbenfrohen Strukturen haben dicke Außenwände aus Segeltuch, die eine reflektierende Isolierung und eine hocheffiziente Wärmepumpen- / Wechselstromeinheit enthalten, sodass Sie sich zu jeder Jahreszeit wohlfühlen können. Jurten werden schnell zu einem neuen Urlaubserlebnis, das Urlauber in den USA von Klippenansichten in Kalifornien bis zu Skihütten in Colorado genießen. This was such an incredible experience! The Yurt was a fun and comfortable place to spend our time. It was quiet, but was also accessible to other island activities. We had a great time, and enjoyed being able to cook at “home”. The beds were very comfortable, including the pull out couch. Everything was very clean. Temp control was great, even as we experience temps between 45 and 60! Loved our stay here, and will absolutely be staying here again.

This was such a great spot! It was on the quieter side of the island which was really nice. The hosts thought about everything, even had a stool for our little kiddo to use to be able to reach the sink. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Definitely coming back!

The yurt felt warm and inviting for our fall getaway. The kitchen was adequately stocked with cookware and the couple of things we thought were missed were found available in the laundry barn.

Great stay on the quiet side of MDI

We had a great stay at Acadia Yurts! Kids enjoyed the loft and parents enjoyed the space of the larger yurt. Karen and Aaron are great hosts; always responsive and helpful. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great experience near Acadia National Park!

Great vacation!

Our yurt was a great home base for our family to explore Acadia and MDI! It had everything we needed and we appreciated the amenities after long days spent exploring the park. Perfect Acadia Location

The yurt, in addition to just being fun, was extremely clean and had everything we needed. The location was 30 minutes or less to everything on Mount Desert Island, but much quieter than the east side. Can't recommend enough and will certainly be back next time we're visiting Acadia!

Excellent lodging- would book again in a heartbeat!

Yurt felt like a cozy luxe home for the week. Spotless, roomy, everything you need for your Maine adventure week. Slept 4 of us comfortably with room for cooking simple dinners, playing board games, lounging. We have absolutely no complaints- its perfect!

Nice get away

We had a great time. The yurts were wonderful. My only complaint is that we were right by the highway and we heard the traffic all night long.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay! We are thrilled you had a great time and greatly appreciate your thoughtful review! To future travelers- we are not sure what road noise the traveler heard throughout the night- we are located on a 2 lane country road. The main road is 1.3 miles away but is limited to 40 mph speed zone. If noise is an issue we do provide a white noise machine in each yurt and silicone ear plugs in our communal barn. Please reach out with any questions!

Aaron is a Maine native. He was born and raised across the bridge in Trenton and grew up attending local Bar Harbor schools. He has worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years beginning as a prep cook in high school then moving toward general manager. Aaron's favorite extracurricular activity is learning all he can about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As often as he can, he trains locally and loves sharing this passion with others.

Karen is a transplant. Originally from Chicago she made her way to Maine in 2009 and fell in love immediately. In Acadia she enjoys hiking, trail running, yoga, and long walks on the carriage roads. Karen has been teaching yoga locally for over 6 years and now brings her practice to the Wellness Center (located on site at Acadia Yurts). Karen is also a licensed massage therapist and offers services onsite (pending availability).

As a couple we have done quite a bit of traveling and through that we have narrowed down the particular way we like to travel. The biggest factor for us is having a furnished kitchen in order to prepare health minded foods to nourish our bodies and support all our outdoor activities. The idea for Acadia Yurts has been brewing for quite some time. Friends of ours live off the grid in a yurt and we greatly appreciate the rustic, romantic feel of the yurt but wanted some of the comforts of home; running water, heat, electricity. From there Acadia Yurts was born. We truly hope you enjoy our property and your time here as much as we do.
