Acadia Yurts bietet Besuchern die einzigartigste Art, auf Mount Desert Island zu bleiben. Sieben spaßige, umweltfreundliche Jurten und zwei winzige Häuser bringen Sie der Natur so nahe wie Camping und bieten alle Annehmlichkeiten von zu Hause. Das Acadia Yurts befindet sich auf einem 5 Hektar großen, bewaldeten Grundstück inmitten des Acadia-Nationalparks und bietet einen ruhigen Rückzugsort für Ihre Gruppe (bis zu 4 Gäste pro 24 'Jurte, 6 Gäste für die 30' Jurte oder 2 Gäste pro Tiny House). Acadia Yurts ist auch ideal für große Reisegruppen mit Unterkünften für bis zu 34 Personen an einem Ort.

Eine Jurte ist eine zeltähnliche kreisförmige Stoffstruktur mit einem Holzgitterrahmen, der von den Nomadenstämmen in Asien stammt. Diese dauerhaften, farbenfrohen Strukturen haben dicke Außenwände aus Segeltuch, die eine reflektierende Isolierung und eine hocheffiziente Wärmepumpen- / Wechselstromeinheit enthalten, sodass Sie sich zu jeder Jahreszeit wohlfühlen können. Jurten werden schnell zu einem neuen Urlaubserlebnis, das Urlauber in den USA von Klippenansichten in Kalifornien bis zu Skihütten in Colorado genießen. Great Yurt in the midst of the trees

We stayed just over a week and really enjoyed all of it. The facility and property in general weee great; our hosts made everything easy and prepared the Yurt beautifully. We had not stayed in one before, but were very pleasantly surprised. They even provided eye covers and earplugs if you wanted to use them. I did not use them, but I thought it evidence of the attention to detail. You should try it!

Aaron and Karen have clearly spent so much time curating the perfect experience for their guests. The location and vibe felt like camping but nothing else about our stay felt like we were “roughing it.” Our yurt was more spacious than any hotel room, linens and facilities were clean, fresh, and comfortable. The yoga class we enjoyed was an amazing start to our week and we wish we had carved out more time for a massage or float in the sensory deprivation tank.While Acadia Yurts are a bit of a drive from the hikes and bike rides we had planned, we enjoyed the quiet and peaceful location away from the bustle of Bar Harbor. Aaron and Karen were such present and welcoming hosts. Our time at their yurts was incredible and we strongly recommend a stay there!

Heaven on the quiet side

My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!The grounds were lovely. The yurt was gorgeous, fully stocked and so cozy on even the rainiest of nights. The community room with laundry and games to share was a great added bonus. We didnt have time to use the wellness center, but look foward to returning and trying out the sauna. We much preferred being on this side of MDI. Quiet and secluded, but close enough to everything. Thank you for making our visit and our anniversary so special.

Great home away from home!

The yurt was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for cooking meals. The laundry shed had an abundance of games and books and other extras to check out and share (like camp chairs to view the sunrise on Cadillac Mtn.) The location was close enough to other restaurants, shops, etc. but remote enough to be away from traffic. Loved it!

Great getaway spot in close proximity to Acadia NP!

The Dorr Mountain yurt was the perfect getaway spot that was close to Acadia National Park. The yurt was well stocked with easy access to additional items such as onsite laundry. The yurt was clean and comfortable for our family of four. Communication from the owner was great.

Magical home base for Acadia

Amazing stay - highly recommend!

This was a perfect landing spot for our family’s first vacation with our 7-week-old. We were able to easily access Acadia National Park and the nearby downtown of Southwest Harbor was adorable. The yurt was clean, comfortable, and had everything you could dream of needing for a vacation stay. We even utilized the lobster pot one evening to steam our own fresh lobster thanks to great recommendation from the owners Aaron and Karen. A perfect stay!!

Loved Acadia Yurts!

We took over all of the yurts with a large group of friends for a week and had the best time- the yurts are clean and spacious and well stocked with everything we needed for the week. We highly recommend Acadia Yurts!

Zu Gast bei Karen Roper

Aaron is an Maine native. He was born and raised across the bridge in Trenton and grew up attending local Bar Harbor schools. He has worked in the restaurant industry for the past 15+ years beginning as a prep cook in high school then moving toward general manager. Aaron's favorite extracurricular activity is learning all he can about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As often as he can, he trains locally and loves sharing this passion with others.

Karen is a transplant. Originally from Chicago she made her way to Maine in 2009 and fell in love immediately. In Acadia she enjoys hiking, trail running, yoga, and long walks on the carriage roads. Karen has been teaching yoga locally for over 6 years and now brings her practice to the Wellness Center (located on site at Acadia Yurts). Karen is also a licensed massage therapist and offers services onsite.

As a couple we have done quite a bit of traveling and through that we have narrowed down the particular way we like to travel. The biggest factor for us is having a furnished kitchen in order to prepare health minded foods to nourish our bodies and support all our outdoor activities. The idea for Acadia Yurts has been brewing for quite some time. Friends of ours live off the grid in a yurt and we greatly appreciate the rustic, romantic feel of the yurt but wanted some of the comforts of home- running water, heat, electricity. From there Acadia Yurts was born. We deeply hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!!
