We saw the house for sale, unexpectedly, on a weekend trip away and just thought it was perfect for families holidaying together, as we do.
Ferragudo is a perfect location. We can get everywhere by foot. Beach and beach bars by day, and the village square with its bars, restaurants and entertainment by night. We no longer hire a car, which is great for larger groups, we just choose where to meet up with each other. We can arrange airport transfers with a local firm on request. Ferragudo is unspoilt but with plenty to do and gets better each time we visit.
The busier resort of Praia da Rocha and the town of Portimao are easily accessible by water taxi, a short ride across the river. For trips further out we use a very reliable local taxi firm.
We love to play tennis and have tried organized mountain bike and kayak tours.

Great location, just 8 minute walk to the beach with activities, bars and restaurants, or a 5 minute walk down to the village square with many bars and restaurants.
There is ample space for entertaining at Casa Rosina. We often BBQ by the pool in the evening and then walk down to the village square for a few drinks. Or we eat out and then end up by the poolside bar for a nightcap or more usually a cup of tea! We have a covered outdoor lounge area with rattan suite. Our villa is well equipped and has recently benefited from a complete refurbishment, including new beds, sofas, TV, BBQ, stereo, hotel quality linen, towels and soft furnishings.
The locals are very friendly. We often find that our clients have met friends of ours out there, we try not to get jealous! We have also had many compliments about our house manager Kerstin who is very helpful and lives locally, so is available to our guests whilst staying at Casa Rosina, should the need arise.
