With 4 king bedrooms, 1 queen, a bunk room (4 beds), and a separate boat house with a king bed, there's plenty of space for both togetherness and solitude.

Savor mornings on the deck surrounded by birdsongs as you sip your coffee. Watch your children's delight as they discover secret rooms, cheer with your glasses and your people under string lights, and soak in the hot tub overlooking the serene cove. This haven on the water is a getaway to rest, make memories, and enjoy the lake naturally.

— Non Toxic —
A significant detail setting this home apart is the attention to minimizing toxins to prioritize your family's health. You’ll sleep on organic mattresses & bedding, be welcomed into a house cleaned with non-toxic cleaners & laundry detergents (no more sleeping with potent fragrances) and drink and shower with local well water purified through the whole-house filtration system. Remodeled with low VOC and natural materials, you'll breathe in clean air, soak in natural lighting by day, and enjoy a warm evening glow by night. Bedrooms are intentionally designed without TVs to encourage healthy sleep patterns and deep, healing rest.

— The Home —
The Hummingbird Home was built and decorated with natural handmade resources: 100-year-old hand-hewn beams downstairs, intentionally curated antiques, and handmade clay tile to meet its Spanish Revival style. You will enjoy the rest and relaxation of the old world, with all the convenience of the new.

If you're a coffee lover, you're in good company. Wake up to the aroma of your favorite coffee shop in your home. The Breville Espresso machine makes an excellent latte or Americano. If you prefer a pour-over, the Fellow grinder and kettle make it perfectly. If you'd prefer to simply wake up to your coffee made, that option is available too, as well as a Keurig if that's your cup of choice.

This home has plenty of seating areas indoors and outdoors - great for hosting friends and creating traditions with family. The kitchen is the heart of the home, where food, family, and friends collide. The spacious island with a gas cooktop allows the chef to be part of the party while leaving seating for 6 and plenty of room for more to gather.

Open up the back sliding glass door to your outdoor dining area, where the inside and outside flow seamlessly. The grill is ready to be fired up for BBQ with friends. Surrounded by trees and visited by hummingbirds, dinner on the deck is complemented by stunning sunset views and the sounds of nature. The entire back wall of the home has windows to allow views of the lake. This is a perfect place to cozy up, read a book, or grab a friend for sweet conversation.

Downstairs is where the indoor fun happens. A ping pong table, shuffleboard table, board games, TV, and seating area all create the opportunity for joyful memories.

— Bedrooms & Bathrooms —
On the main level, a king bedroom attaches to the main bathroom, a queen bedroom hides a secret playroom (accessible by attic ladder), and a primary bedroom highlights lake views and a beautifully designed bathroom. All three bathrooms have been meticulously remodeled. The primary shower has three shower heads to enjoy an immersive shower experience. The main upstairs bath holds both a shower and a vintage clawfoot soaking tub with sides tall enough to bathe and rest comfortably. The downstairs bathroom holds a deep soaking tub, large enough for all the littles after the lake or for when you need some alone time.

Downstairs, a king bedroom opens with double glass doors to the lake. A bunk bedroom with 3 twins and 1 full delights adults and kids alike when they discover the secret passageway.

The last sleeping area is a separate boat house down the hill with a king bed and full bathroom. This space is perfect for anyone hoping to wake up with their own quiet, private balcony to enjoy the tranquil sounds of the lake.

Outdoors is where you'll spend your days soaking in the sunlight and resting in the shade. With an emphasis on natural entertainment, the Hummingbird Home invites both adults and kids to play. Take the stand-up paddle boards or kayaks for a spin, rest in the swinging chair while spotting herons and jumping fish, sit on the Adirondacks at the dock while sipping a cool drink, enjoy lunch under the pergola, or all of the above. As night falls, the fire pit comes alive to roast s'mores, and the hot tub becomes the place to stargaze to cap it all off.

If you're looking to get out on the water, this home makes it easy. A favorite marina will bring your boat or jet ski rental to the house. The community boat launch is a minute down the road, and another local marina sits just across the main channel.

- Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- There are a significant amount of steps down to the lake as shown in the photos.
- The driveway is steep. Be extra cautious when driving up or down the icy or snowy conditions.
- Interior fireplaces are not available for guest use.
- House has one adult, one child kayak & 2 SUP.
- No events, group gatherings, or parties are allowed at any AvantStay property under any circumstances.
- Due to natural fluctuations, we’re unable to provide specific water depth information at any given time. The majority of docks in this area are generally suitable for most average-sized pontoons and ski boats. However, since boat drafts can vary, guests are encouraged to refer to Lake Norman nautical charts, GPS systems, and depth maps—and rely on their own knowledge of their vessel’s specifications—to ensure safe navigation.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we cannot always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.
