There was plenty of room for all 13 of us to spread out, plenty of plates/silverware/glasses, and the ping pong table was a hit. It wasn't far to a few restaurants and grocery was just a few minutes away. The host was quick to answer any questions. We enjoyed our stay!

My family enjoyed our week at this property. It accommodated our large group more than adequately. There is a nice assortment of deck areas with lovely views of the dock and the beautiful lake. The large lawn insured privacy and a place for outdoor activities. All in-house amenities were well provided for. In addition, the Property Manager was exceptional in that she responded quickly to the concerns we had throughout the week and was quite pleasant to deal with. The reason for the 4 stars was the presence of pests in various rooms of the house over the course of the week and dust on the shades in a few bedrooms which was something we would not have expected.Overall, a pleasant vacation.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I always appreciate suggestions, as we are always looking for ways to improve upon our guests’ experience. As we discussed, being in a lakeside environment, we are subject to pests that call it home. Our quarterly pest control treatments ensure that pests do not survive once they enter the home, so finding the occasional dead bug indicates that it is working. I understand they are unsightly though, and we do apologize for that. I will of course pass along all issues to my cleaners, as they are quite conscientious and are quick to remediate anything missed. I assure you it was not intentional. Again, I appreciate your willingness to provide feedback. Thank you for being great guests!

Christmas reunion at the lake!

Amazing property! My family and I had a wonderful time at this amazing house. Lakeside fires, plenty of space and games all around. Kitchen was big enough to cook for all and room to relax when done. Property management was attentive and responsive. A Christmas tree was even set up!!! We will be back.

Our family of 8 enjoyed our yearly get together at Queens Cove. The home was clean and well equipped except for the lack of a garbage disposal. It was complicated doing dishes for 8! The beds were comfortable and the lake front location and dock were great.

New Years Annual Getaway

We are 4 families who are friends/family and spend every New Year/holiday season together. Usually, we are in NY or FL, but this year we decided to meet in the middle. We happened to fall upon this house when we were searching and it fit all of our needs. However, once we arrived, it exceeded our expectations. Large family vacation

Great location for quick access to shopping and renaissance fair. It had all the most importance features for us…pool table, hot tub, large functional kitchen, and fire pit with WOOD…. Driveway/parking not an issue with our 5 vehicles. I would recommend sound machines for sleeping… especially if you are in the downstairs bedroom.

Queen's Cove Treasure

We loved everything about staying at this property. We had young children, tweenagers, teenagers, young adults, and adults and this property met the needs of everyone. It was beautiful, close to everything, had an amazing kitchen, we loved the zero entry into the lake, the gazebo with a fan by the water, the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning was the best we've ever had, and much more. The management company was easy to work with and addressed the issues we had promptly. We've stayed at Lake Norman summer after summer and we finally found a property we will return to!

It was overall good. A circuit in the house tripped and wouldn’t come back which was a little frustrating and disappointing. They had corn hole but one bag is torn so only 3 bags for that color. Otherwise everything was great and as listed.

Wonderful

This vacation house is ideal for all ages! Plenty of room, great screened porch, covered area by beach( with fan), pool table- and more!. The beach was ideal for small children and they could walk right into the lake. The kitchen is very well stocked with everying you need for multiple people. No garbage disposal- but that turned out not to be an issue at all as there are multiple trash bins. Easy to communicate with Katie. It was a wonderful week- we have already booked again for next year!!

Great location

Great location of house. Very quiet cove. The house was okay. We saw ants in the kitchen before we unloaded our bags and it was a consistent problem throughout the week. We ended up throwing away produce that sat out (bananas, apples, etc). The dishwasher also had a horrible smell so we ended up washing dishes all week after running on full cycle a few times. The yard and dock were great for kids to play and swim. Other than the kitchen, we had a great week!

Hi Jenn, We really appreciate the feedback and are very sorry for the issues you experienced during your stay. Our management company had a personnel change at the start of 2022 as well as cleaning crew turnover, and unfortunately we were unaware of the cleanliness issues that developed within our home until it was too late. We changed management companies and therefore also cleaning crews on 7/2/2022 (upon your check-out). I have messaged you privately to offer a 10% discount towards a future stay in the hope that you will give us another try!

Great space for our family reunion

This house was perfect for our family of 10 and for the 4 more who day visited. We rented a pontoon through a local marina, so we had everything we could want as far as “toys” bc the house comes with kayaks, sup and even corn hole. The hot tub was clean, the grill had an extra tank of propane, the kitchen was adequate. I wish they had a larger oven and some more cookie sheets but otherwise it was fine. Drew is a fantastic house manager and I’d recommend this house for sure. Side note: one drawback was the distance to the interstate was close and you could hear the road noise while in bed but they’re building apartments across the lake so they may help block the noise in the future

Stayed over Christmas, no heat for four days. Wall heating unit in living did not work. Property manager was excellent but the maintenance of house was not desirable. Family made Christmas fun. Weather didn’t help either.

Hi there, I wanted to respond to your review, as I feel that it's important to note a few details, given imply that we do not maintain this home. As property manager, I make myself very reachable at all times and make a concerted effort to have all issues addressed as immediately as possible, but I was not notified that the heat was not working for two entire days. Once I was notified, we had someone out to fix it within 2 hours. Unfortunately, it stopped working again, but when I was notified, I was told it stopped working around 5pm. I wasn't notified until close to midnight. The delay in reporting these issues to me left us working tirelessly on Christmas Eve to provide as many heaters as we could and get a service tech there as soon as possible. We did absolutely everything in our power to have the heat fixed once we knew about the issues, but I do feel we could have had this corrected much sooner had I known. The current heating system has been working correctly since the current owners purchased the home in 2018. The living room split unit also works fine, but froze up when the main system stopped working, due to being overworked. It is completely fine now. I am sorry that this occurred during your stay...it was the coldest few days we've experienced here in NC since the 40s! I work extremely hard to have all properties I manage in excellent condition with everything in working order, but I can only fix what I know about. Please, in the future, give us property managers a chance to remedy situations more quickly by notifying us as soon as something becomes a problem. I hope my token of appreciation for your patience was well received and helpful. Thank you for staying.

Best appointed kitchen

We’ve stayed in several homes on Lake Norman and this one was the best one yet. It had the best appointed kitchen with all the necessary pots and pans, utensils, small appliances, and sharp knives. These were all of above-average quality, not the poor quality, nearly useless items in other houses. The house has functional open areas as well as the necessary private bedrooms and suites. Everything we used worked well from the hot tub to the pool table to the televisions to the kayaks. The covered area of the boat dock was especially welcome in the August heat. The beach was great for the young children, and the water near the end of the dock was barely six feet deep, perfect for an adult to stand in the water and play with the kids. This cove was always very peaceful with minimal boat traffic.

Enjoyable place! Good for a family reunion. The only downside is the thin walls

We had 12 people stay here for a Thanksgiving family reunion. Had a great time! The bedrooms were spaced out enough for everyone to have their own space. A few things that could have gone better: - the walls and floors/ceilings are thin so you can hear everything going on. Some people stay up late and others wake up early, making sleeping tough with the noise - the oven is very small and there’s only one of them. That made the Thanksgiving feast challenging - the dinner tables are in two separate rooms - the layout in the basement room makes privacy limited. There’s no wall blocking the bedroom from the stairs Minor things, but things we wished we would have known. Overall we’ll look back on our experience with fond memories!

Thank you again for being our guest and providing feedback - we really appreciate it as we are very focused on a great guest experience! The owners continue to re-invest in the property a we want Queens Cove Cottage to be a great place to visit & enjoy all that the Lake Norman area provides. Last winter we took the property off the market for 2.5 months to convert the garage to a great family space, added the screened in porch, added a hot tub & completed some other updates. We are scheduled to do the same starting here in January as the entire kitchen will be remodeled - the new kitchen will have 2 ovens, a new cook-top, refrigerator, quartz counter-tops and an island that is double the size of the one in place today - will be a great entertaining kitchen with nice flow to all of the adjoining rooms. Super excited and we will definitely post new pictures once completed!

Successful multi family getaway at this fantastic house

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this lake house with two other families, and it was an unforgettable experience! Nestled in a quiet cove, the location provided the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience, with a beach that was ideal for our combined six kids to play on. The dock was spacious enough to accommodate our boats, and we particularly enjoyed the gazebo by the dock for leisurely afternoons. Inside, the house was comfortable, clean, and exceptionally spacious – a perfect fit for our large group. The well-equipped kitchen met all our culinary needs, making meal preparation a breeze. We loved spending time in the screened-in porch, enjoying the lake view without the worry of bugs, and the hot tub added a touch of luxury to our stay. Ample parking and the private, homey feel of the property made it feel like our own secluded lakeside retreat. The property manager was extraordinarily responsive to any questions that we had during the trip, enhancing our overall experience. Overall, we rated our stay very highly and would wholeheartedly recommend this lake house to anyone seeking a serene and delightful vacation spot. Our time here was filled with laughter, relaxation, and wonderful memories. We can't wait to return!

Great place to relax.

This was an old guy friends reunion. We selected Lake Norman as our destination since it was an equal distance for all travelers. We chose Queen's Cottage because of the number of bedrooms and bathrooms and the fact that it was situated on the lake. Admittedly, I am giving this review as a 67 year old male. The house met our expectations and gave us a great opportunity to reconnect and relax. However, if my wife had attended, I believe her review might offer a little more constructive criticism, as follows. I realize the house is covered by trees, but many areas of the exterior and porch were covered in spider webs. Could use a good cleaning, as it looked dingy. Some of the outdoor rocking chairs were covered in bird poo, which we tried to clean before using. Clearly, the exterior was not getting the same attention as the interior. Also found two dead cockroaches in the house. Thankfully, we didn't see any live ones. Finally, just a minor issue, but we didn't see any instructions in the description that we had to bring our own soap. Again, my group was quite satisfied with the house and location. We would probably return again, but not with the wives.

Hi Bob! I am very glad you enjoyed your reunion weekend with your buddies! Also, I do appreciate your feedback. I'm glad you and your friends found the interior to be clean and relaxing. September is unfortunately spider season here...I'll take care of the webs promptly to ensure we stay on top of the webs and clear them off the outdoor patios, as well as clean the chairs you mentioned. Being located on the lake with lots of trees around, we are frequently visited by lots of birds and insects, and the home is always treated regularly for pests. If you return, please feel free to give me a call if you need anything during your stay, so that I'm able to take care of it more promptly.
