We cannot say enough good things about the home, the view, the well-furnished kitchen, the gardens, and the good people of Riomaggiore. We did not want to leave! The sunsets are exquisite, the people friendly, and the food and wine delicious. We will return to Pamela's home again.
Beautiful property. You are getting what is advertised, the villa is clean and well maintained. The wifi was fantastic we didn't have any problems. Pamela emailed us after we arrived to ask if everything was to our liking. The washer and dryer were exceptional. You could see that there were upgraded kitchen appliances. There are air conditioning units in every room, but if you leave the Windows open you can hear the ocean. Close to the shops which are down the hill to the right and close to the trail head which is to the left. This place is so romantic, we loved the views and there was so much to do. A great place to relax and enjoy some quiet time.
View: 10/10. Sunsets outstanding and one night of storm watching.
Location: excellent, so nice to be above the crowds and busy town, so peaceful.
House and yard: very well kept and well stocked with day to day necessities. Much appreciated when arriving. Everything works - this is so rare! Thanks you!
Communication: Pamela very responsive and checked in with us on arrival and local contact available, accommodating and helpful. Again thank you!
Cleanliness: pretty good (I'm very picky)
Would definitely recommend this location! Please take care of it.

We stayed four nights at Pamela's place and I wish I would have rented for a couple or extra nights. The view was absolutely amazing. We were close to everything. It took approximately 5- 8 minutes to get to the train station or the town ( two different ways of getting there). It was nice being "part of the locals", seeing the older men picking vegetables from their huge gardens, hearing Italian being spoken, etc.
Pamela received a bad review regarding the shower curtain and the drain of the bathroom. It is true that the curtain needed changing and the drain needed Drano but these were small things in comparison to the beautiful place available to experience the Cinque Terre. Also, as soon as Pamela was aware of these things she was quick to jump on it and wanted to ensure that all was changed and perfect for her guests.
The treking in the mountains was great, the boat ferry is extremely expensive (we where a family of 5), using the train was easy, the towns were beautiful. As we say in French, un vrai coup de cœur!
Thank you Pamela
The house is located outside the main town on a hill, which provides gorgeous views, is away from the noise of the town, and makes for a great (but strenuous if you take the steps) walk to the harbor. Our major complaint was that the bathroom was not clean - the shower curtain was completely moldy, the tub didn't really drain, and the shower rod completely fell down the first time we tried to take a shower. The rest of the house is clean, just dated.
Pam was very easy to reach and helpful with any questions we had prior to arrival. We did not meet Pam in person but my husband spoke with her on the phone and via email. A gentlemen met us near the train station when we arrived and took our luggage to the house (we really appreciated that). The house is as described - spectacular views, working AC, washer & dryer, full kitchen and plenty of outdoor space. She even has a screen door which is a rare thing in Italy. She had paper towels in the house - that was the only time I saw them in a rental unit during our 3 week trip throughout Italy. There were some minor things that could be improved - an upgrade the outdoor furniture and the towels smelled of mildew. I washed the towels and let them air dry and that problem was solved. I will say that I found the walk to the house to be a bit of a work out and I did consider the return when we went out for the day. There was one day when I opted to stay in town instead of going back to the house for shower before dinner because I just wanted to avoid one more trip up to the house. This was our first time in Cinque Terre and it is worthy of the hype - incredibly gorgeous. We were there in late June and the crowds were manageable. We may have benefited from a brief train strike the night we arrived which lasted 24 hours. We think maybe that cut down on day trippers and we ferry hopped to the different villages as a result. Lovely place.
