Boutique Houseboat Stay – Romantic Getaway for Two

The Surla Suite is a stylish floating hotel room designed for two guests. The space is cleverly laid out, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped for a comfortable stay.

Upon entering, you step into a bright, open living area with large windows offering panoramic water views. One side features a cozy lounge area with a comfortable designer sofa and a dining table for two. A pellet stove adds warmth and atmosphere, even on cooler days.

Adjacent is a compact yet complete kitchenette with a fridge, sink, basic cookware, and a two-burner stove – perfect for breakfast or a light meal.

The elevated sleeping area features a comfortable king-size bed and is smartly separated from the rest of the space, offering a cozy and intimate feel.

The bathroom is modern and luxuriously finished, featuring a walk-in rain shower,(burning) toilet, and sink. There is hot water, ambient lighting, and ample storage.

Finally, sliding doors open onto a private deck right on the water, complete with seating, an outdoor shower, and peaceful views over the marina and lake. It's the perfect spot to relax, sunbathe, read, or enjoy a glass of wine.

Guests have exclusive access to the entire Surla Suite: the stylish interior, the comfortable king-size bed, the modern bathroom, the outdoor shower, and the private waterfront deck are all yours to enjoy.

You are also welcome to use the marina’s clean and modern toilet and shower facilities if you prefer extra convenience after a day on the water or a refreshing swim.

Bikes and small boats can be rented at the marina, and the charming old town of Monnickendam is just a short walk away. Everything is in place for a relaxed and complete stay!

We kindly ask you to contact our local host about 30 minutes before arrival. The host will meet you at the parking lot of Marina Monnickendam and personally guide you to the Surla Suite. You can park your car for free behind the barrier at the marina.

Our Surla hosts are locals who know the area well. They are available during your stay for any questions, tips, or recommendations. Need help with renting bikes, reserving a restaurant, or grocery shopping? The host is happy to assist on request.

The host’s phone number and detailed stay information will be emailed to you 10 days before arrival. A printed version is also available in the houseboat.

Parties or events are not allowed. Smoking or using cannabis is not permitted in or around the houseboat. Please respect the quiet atmosphere of the marina and avoid disturbing other guests or boat owners.

The Surla Suite is not suitable for people with reduced mobility due to the access via a floating jetty and the sleeping area on the mezzanine, which is only accessible by stairs. Pets are not allowed. Due to the waterfront location, the accommodation is also not suitable for children without a swimming certificate.

As this is a boat, some gentle movement may occur during strong winds. The exact location of the boat in the marina may differ slightly from the photos, depending on weather conditions. Safety is our priority – we may ask for your cooperation during your stay if we need to reposition the boat.

Guests are not allowed to operate the boat. However, rental boats and sloops are available at the marina to explore the area by water.

We are incredibly proud of our houseboat and take great care of it. We hope you’ll treat it with the same respect and care. If something is broken or not to your satisfaction, please let us know as soon as possible so we can fix or replace it in time for you and our next guests.
