Das Yiannis Cottage liegt in einem kleinen Dorf in West Kreta, oberhalb der Myrtidiotissa-Kirche von Spilia. Verwöhnen Sie sich mit Ihrem eigenen schönen Pool, hören Sie Vogelstimmen und genießen Sie den Duft duftender Blumen.
Wir möchten Sie über einige Änderungen informieren, die wir in diesem Jahr in unserem Eigentum vorgenommen haben, um eine bessere und höhere Qualität zu erhalten.
Wir haben jungen Künstlern Raum gegeben, sich durch Kunst auszudrücken.
Wir haben Ihnen und Ihrem Tisch noch mehr Natur mit mehr Früchten gebracht
und Gemüse aus unserem Garten und frische Eier aus einer neuen kleinen Henne, ein paar Meter vom Cottage entfernt. Sie können selbst Gemüse und Eier sammeln !!!
In Bezug auf die Architektur der Gegend haben wir die Ausstattung des Cottage verbessert, was mehr Wert auf einen größeren Bad- und Duschbereich legt.

Lovely little villa in a nice village. The pool area and garden are really lovely and Manos was very helpful and welcoming. We went Oct and the pool was heated which made a big difference.

We had a fantastic week in this property and it had everything we needed for two adults and two children. The pool was the perfect size for the four of us. The village is well located to explore western Crete and has some really good taverna’s within a short walk.Manos was extremely welcoming and gave us some excellent tips and recommendations as well as some fresh local produce on arrival. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Lovely cottage

We had a very happy 6 days at Yannis Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed, including my absolute essentials - comfortable bed, coffee machine, good shower, lovely garden and pool. Local tavernas were great but we also enjoyed exploring many of Manolis’ other recommendations, including a visit to the local vineyard. We’d love to go back!

Grant and I have just returned from the most fabulous stay in this property and would absolutely recommend it to anyone considering a stay in Spilia. The house is stunning and served as such a beautiful and cosy home from home. The garden and pool were perfect and the most relaxing of places to spend the day and/or evening. The pool is large enough to take a daily swim or just to cool down in after lounging in the sun on the comfy sun beds. It’s also great that it’s free of chemicals! The house and gardens are so tranquil and served as little oasis in which we really wound down and relaxed. Mani was an unbelievable host and went above and beyond to make sure that we had the best holiday. He was on hand to give us advice re the local trips that we took and also provided scrumptious local foods for us on our arrival. It’s difficult to describe how beautiful this place is and we will definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and family. Thank you so much for having us. Grant and Michelle x x

We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back there soon

It was just what we wanted, in a small village, but in very short distance to Kolymvari and Chania and to several nice beaches, a wonderful pool and beautiful plants in the garden, shady places to sit and have a glass of wine. Very comfortably, the villa has air condition to help you cool down at night. Most importantly, Manolis was a most friendly and helpful host. I am only disappointed that we could not stay longer, but we hope to be back... next year?

I would highly recommend this villa for anyone wishing to avail of a home-to-home stay in Crete. So peaceful a place and after a couple of days back home in Ireland I cannot stop thinking of this beautiful villa and peaceful village. Our host couldn’t do enough for us during our stay and the villa was ideal, situated in a quiet village with a few local bars and restaurants in walking distance from the villa that perfectly suited us after a long day at the beach and our sightseeing tours. Perfect week in Crete

Our stay in Spilia was perfect start to finish - Manos was brilliant and on hand for anything we needed throughout (& kept us very well fed!) His booklet full of recommendations was really useful as well, we did/saw/ate lots that we wouldn’t have known about without it. The photos don’t do the villa justice, it’s very private and the flowers and bell tower and mountains in the distance make the most beautiful peaceful surroundings. The pool was wonderful, big enough for a proper swim - we also enjoyed the occasional visits from the many local cats! The inside is quiet, clean and comfortable - we both slept the best we have in ages! The village itself is very pretty - we tried two of the local tavernas and both were great (especially Ta Platanias) and there is a shop within walking distance. 10/10 - definitely recommend for any couple wanting to relax and explore Crete.

Pure Relaxation

Lovely time, well served by Manos, who is always happy to help. A few points perhaps not previously mentioned in other reviews - The salt water pool is not as salty as the sea. Birds and cats are happy to drink from it. There is a water filter tap by the sink - saves laborious carrying of water bottle packs from the supermarkets. Separate aircon in bedroom and in sitting room. Manos has attached a gadget to the TV which picks up Netflix, etc. WiFi is good, but does occasionally drop out (it is Greece, after all). Manos provides a separate link via mobile phone connection, as a back up. Bed is comfortable - good mattress. Other than that, a lovely break and will look to book again for next year.

Winter in Yiannis Cottage

What a surprise!! We booked this Cottage knowing that it s more a place for the summer. We booked it because of the heated salted pool and we didn;t regret it. We read the reviews about the place and the owner but we couldn' t expect that during this period of the year our experience could be SO fantastic! The place is different that the photos!!It s more and more beutiful!!The owner made a renovation which just finished the dates we get there. New pool tiles with a beautiful color which suits perfectly with the wonderful garden. The villa has new frames and doors, and the quality of the materials is very very good. Linens and towels (the pool towels are SO big) are provided and everything elase we asked was there. Manolis is an intelligent man we talked a lot and we wish we could spend more time with him. We were very lucky because we had 1 sunny week and we enjoyed the wooden sunbeds and the nest (both new i think). We are back in Germany and we have already booked this Villa for this April.

Lovely Villa with big pool in such a nice location.

We always check the reviews of every property we book. Yiannis Cottage has grate reviews anyway but i will add another one i have to do it because we had a grate experience. The pool is huge for 2 people, maybe it s good for 4 or 5. We enjoyed the time there in front of the grate garden. We could have sun or no if we could be under the trees! The bed is very comfortable, the bath and the separate toilet are fantastic, the kitchen very well equipped. The living room and the outside area are very well decorated and comfortable. The garden was so beautiful we enjoyed the time there beside the pool. The location was perfect to explore the region. We enjoyed the tavern a few meters away, we walked round the village to the big cave , some minutes away. Kolimvari is a nice village where you can find anything you may need, but we passed most of our time in Spilia village. Manolis the owner, is an intelligent man who can give you any information you need, he can solve any problem you may have. We really enjoyed the time with him and we felt very comfortable. We will come back!!

Simply the Best

Over the years we have taken many holidays in all areas of Greece, and our stay at Yianni’s cottage in Spilia was simply the best! It was the perfect Greek (Cretan) holiday. The cosy cottage, tucked away behind the church in a small rural village, is secluded and private and has everything that you need including a CD player, DVD player, Wi-Fi and, best of all, a lovely clean pool (7x4m – big enough to swim in). On our arrival at the cottage, we were delighted to find a barrel of red wine, olive oil, raki and enough provisions for a good breakfast. And the mini-market is only 5 minutes drive away. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and peaceful, and if you walk into the hills behind the cottage in the early evening, you can ‘hear’ the silence and see the birds of prey soaring over the coastal plain below. Spilia has a decent taverna, and the fishing village of Kolymbari is only a few minutes’ drive away with a good selection of fish restaurants and tavernas. Further afield, Chania is a really picturesque and interesting town, with a large selection of tavernas and shops – it’s ½ hour’s drive, you can park just west of the old town. Crete is a very beautiful island, with much to explore. It’s worth bringing your SatNav, loaded with Greek maps. It helped us out a few times! Above all, Yianni, Katerina and Manolis made us so very welcome, without being intrusive. Yianni and Katerina’s summer house is next door, and fruit and vegetables from their garden generously appeared on our patio table throughout our stay. Manolis, their son, was the perfect ‘tour guide’ for this part of Crete, giving us much advice on places to visit and tavernas to eat in. Ask him about the taverna in Vassilopoulo. Our thanks to them all for being the perfect hosts. We had a really wonderful holiday in Yianni’s cottage, and have already rebooked for next year.

Just exceptional ....

Well, the truth is that we booked the house because of the good reviews. We made a very good decision. A hire car was very kindly arranged by the hosts. A man who worked for the rent a car office waited us to the exit, we took the car and we just followed the detailed directions by Manolis (the owner)...It was really easy to find the Cottage and Manolis waited for us to give us the keys and many advices of things to do. We tried to do most of them but we needed more than 2 months so we will come back in the near future. We would like to come on September but the dates we could, wasn't available. The cottage is located in the village called Spilia, which is really charming. There is a traditional tavern a few meters away from the Cottage. You need less than 10 minutes drive and you have many choices,.. Of course you have to ask Manolis...For example, we went to Deliana gorge (Samaria gorge was closed), it was so beautiful. On the way back we also went to the tavern in Vassilopoulos ( a hidden non touristic place) and to an oil factory in Astrikas...Fantastic!! Falassarna was our favors beach (20-25 minutes drive) , elafonnisi (less than 1 hour drive) is magnificent, specially this period. Although there are some tips which Manolis gave us made the difference. We also went to Chaniaand we also found a lot of alternative (non touristic) places to visit. We needed almost 20 minutes drive to go there. The most impressive thing was the hospitality... In the middle of the week the house was cleaned by Eleni, linen, towels changed!! The pool is huge for 2people so the Cottage is perfect for couple with 1-2 kids. We were there just the 2 of us and we really had a grate time in the pool during the day and at night where the lights made the place really amazing. We would highly recommend the property for exploring Western Crete .Manolis and his family offer an outstanding experience and it certainly ranks as one of our best holiday rentals! We hope to return!

Tolle Liegenschaft auf Familien-Grundstück

Wir haben unsere Zeit im Juli 2024 zu dritt (2 Erwachsene, 1 Kind 12 Jahre) sehr genossen. Die Hütte ist in eine wunderbare Landschaft mit vielen Pflanzen eingebettet. Alles was man im Alltag braucht, steht einem zur Verfügung. Der Gastgeber verwöhnte uns mehrmals mit vielen leckeren lokalen Lebensmitteln. Er steht ausserdem jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Wunderbarer Urlaub

Es war ein wundervoller Urlaub auf der schönen Insel Kreta. Das Haus von Manolis ist ganz ruhig in dem idyllischen Ort Spilia neben der Dorfkirche gelegen. Man hat absolut seine Ruhe. Der Pool (leichtes Salzwasser) ist ein Traum. Sehr groß und in einem sehr guten Zustand - Top gepflegt. Auch der Garten ist ein Paradies. Der Vermieter ist absolut hilfsbereit und sehr nett. Die Kommunikation war jederzeit einwandfrei. Manolis war immer erreichbar und konnte gute Ratschläge geben. Wir wurden von ihm sehr liebevoll umsorgt. Mal gab es was vom Bäcker und ein Willkommenspaket mit seinen eigenen Bio-Produkten gab es auch. Einfach fantastisch! Zu 100% zu empfehlen! Vielen lieben Dank an Manolis und seine Familie! Wundervoller Ort

Als Familie mit 1 Teenager haben wir den Aufenthalt hier richtig genießen können. Ich kann mich den anderen Bewertungen inhaltlich komplett anschließen: Sehr schönes, ruhig gelegenes Haus, toller Pool. Ein so netter und hilfsbereiter Vermieter... Eine uneingeschränkte 100%ige Empfehlung!

Traum Urlaub in Strandnähe

Ich war mit meinem Freund vom 21. August bis zum 1. September 2022 in diser Villa. Sir befindet sich in mitten eines kleinen Dorfes. 3 verschiedene Lokalitäten kann man von dort zu Fuß schnell erreichen! Der Strand ist lediglich 10 Minuten mit dem Auto, ein Supermarkt 5 Minuten und ein etwas größerer auch nur 10 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Die Villa bietet ausreichend Platz für 2 Personen. Man hat die Möglichkeit dort dazu kochen, Wäsche zu waschen, zu grillen, oder einfach nur entspannen. Im Außenbereich befindet sich ein großer Pool mit mehreren liegemöglichkeiten. Wenn man mit dem Auto anreist, bekommt man einen eigenen Parkplatz im Schatten. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wenn man etwas braucht, reicht eine kurze Nachricht und er reagiert, beziehungsweise hilft sofort. Falls man allerdings reine Privatsphäre genießen möchte, kann man das dort auch sehr gut! Niemand stört, wenn man das nicht möchte! Ich kann die Villa wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Perfekter Urlaub

Es war ein wunderschöner Urlaub. Das Haus liegt abseits des Trubels in Spilia aber nur 5 min zum nächsten Ort. Man findet viele Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und auch gute Restaurants in den umliegenden Orten. Das Haus ist wirklich mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Es hat einen wunderschönen Garten mit Pool, wo man absolut entspannen kann. Alles ist sauber und bei den lieben Vermietern fühlt man sich sofort willkommen. Mit Katerina, Yiannis und Manolis hatten wir echt tolle Vermieter. Sie sind herzlich, immer zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit und hatten auch immer tolle Tipps für uns. Wir wurden mit frischem Gemüse aus dem eigenen Garten und frischen Eiern von den eigenen Hühnern, Olivenöl, Obst, Wein und Raki bestens versorgt. Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir können das Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Genau richtig, wenn man nicht mitten im Trubel der Touristen wohnen möchte. Wir haben nicht nur einen tollen Urlaub gehabt, sondern mit Manolis, Katerina und Yiannis auch neue Freunde gefunden. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen! Regina und Horst

Un petit coin de paradis a quelques minutes du bord de mer en plein dans les oliviers proche des plus belles plages de crêtes et des centres d intérêts En arrivant , la joie d avoir pleins de produits locaux a découvrir !! Tout était parfait ! La maison ; l hôte très attentif a nos besoins! Le cadre !! L extérieur magnifique La literie au top !La salle de bains très jolie ! Je recommande ce logement

Extérieur de folie !

On recommande vivement cette maison pour passer un agréable et authentique séjour en Crète.Manos, le propriétaire, nous a fait un super accueil avec des produits locaux et un livret qui regroupe plusieurs endroits très beaux pour découvrir l'île.Concernant la maison, le point fort est l'extérieur avec la piscine entourée de plantes et d'arbres (citronnier et palmier) ainsi qu'un très bel olivier. Cet environnement donne beaucoup de charme à la maison.Et petit plus, il y a des chats qui se baladent autour de la piscine dont un en particulier de couleur noir et blanc qui est très gentil et affectueux (il accepte volontiers les caresses) c'est une bonne patte !En résumé, on valide complètement cette maison !Merci encore Manos !

What a cosy place!!!

This was my third time at this region of Crete which is my favorite in Greece!!I choosed this villa based from the reviews and I was right!!! The villa is exactly what a couple needs for relaxing and more!!! The villa has everything you may need. 1)Privacy!Nobody can bother you.The entrance of the house is near a pricate family road. 2)You can feel isolated but a few steps away there are 2 grate tradisional taverns for foodbor drink. 3) The pool is very Big for 2 people,is salted and it is heated!!!!!!When we booked we didn't know it!!! 4) Manolis...He didn't charve anything more for the amenity of the heated pool and he did...Everything we could ask from an owner..Tips,kindness and the feeling you can base on him if anything happens.We travel.a lot and all these things are what you search! The welcome pack was also unexpected. We have never seen anything similar. Thank you much Manolis.We will be back!!

Rien à redire !!!

Petite maison accueillante très bien équipée, fonctionnelle, chaleureuse. Un propriétaire très sympathique, présent si besoin et à l'écoute. Une superbe piscine qui plaît autant au petit qu'au grand. Un cadre magnifique tranquille!! Adapté pour une famille avec 2 enfants .
