Perfect vacation

A very special accommodation, great location along a beautiful viaduct into Lucca. A place to relax, enjoy the views, eat in rural restaurants that are outstanding, but with easy access to the city. The owners are especially helpful and the nicest family you could meet. We enjoyed our three weeks thoroughly, visits to Florence and Italy were so easy to make, but we were quite happy to roam around the backstreets of Lucca and relax at home.

Such a fantastic place! Danilo’s house is beautiful, close to amazing walks and the city of lucca (20-30min along an old aqueduct). Danilo is lovely: booked us a restaurant on the first night and sent interesting messages about the things we had seen during the day. Highly recommend and would stay again!

Great stay close to historic Lucca

The aquaduct and the path below it to town was the appeal for us. The fresh water the neighbors would cue up for was novel. Arriving late and easy in & out parking made day trips a breeze. Very helpful hosts and would highly recommend if you did not want to stay in the Historic Center.

Wow, if you ever head to Lucca which you must then this traditional Tuscan Villa is absolutely magical. Right on the Aquaduct and a shortish walk to the township this property immerses you in the local culture and has all the amenities you need to have the most stunning stay. Danilo was so helpful, provided lots of advice and really helped make our stay in Lucca one of the most memorable of our entire trip. You must stay here!

Beautiful and magical

Beautiful and magical is how I would describe our stay in Lucca with Danilo. During our travels, we’ve stayed at several great air b&b’s, but this place surpassed all our expectations. The house and gardens were gorgeous and we felt like we were staying in a fairytale. The decorative artistic touches in every room were inspiring and romantic. We stayed several days and thoroughly enjoyed having an extremely comfortable king size bed, along with an outstanding hot tub to soak in every day. Our hosts provided us with everything we needed and even more than we expected. They offered us restaurant recommendations, all of which were terrific, and they even took care of making the reservations for us. We had complete privacy yet felt like we were staying with friends.

Honeymoon in Tuscany

We have been lucky to stay at Danilo’s apartment for 4 nights on our honeymoon. The property is very romantic and comfortable. The jacuzzi is also a fantastic treat to relax! We walked every day along the amazing aqueduct in both directions. We really recommend a beautiful restaurant nearby called Micheloni, a 25 minute walk. In Lucca the walk along the city wall is also a must. Our favourite cafe to sit and people watch with a vino bianco is Bar S.Michele! Danilo, his wife and daughter are perfect hosts and have been so kind to us. Picking us up and taking us back to the railway station was so helpful. And on our final day, he made us a romantic breakfast in the garden which was the perfect end to our honeymoon. I recommend that everyone comes here as you’ll have the best time!

Couldn’t ask for more!

A wonderful stay at Danilo’s apartment. Amazing local restaurant recommendations and where to explore around the area. We didn’t drive and a bit worried to travel around the area, but it’s super easy to arrange reasonable priced pick-ups with Danilo to/ from Lucca city center. The jacuzzi in the apartment is a life-saver after a long day, and the kitchen is well-equipped for self-cooking. Top class mattress and beddings provided, we slept really well during the stay. And the apartment overlook a beautiful garden which gives us good mood first thing in the morning. Also, it’s peaceful to just walk around the apartment, away from all the hustle. Overall, it’s a wonderful stay, would definitely recommend to family and friends. Thank you Danilo for the great hospitality and providing this amazing place for us to stay.

Beautiful apartment and wonderful hosts

My husband and I recently stayed for a week at this beautiful location. It served as a great jumping off point to visit places like Cinque terra, Carrera, and Florence. But with each day trip, coming home to this magnificent apartment was something to look forward to! We also spent a couple of days exploring Lucca and spending time in the beautiful garden and walking along the aqueduct. The hosts, Danilo and Grazia we’re terrific. Others have noted the lovely breakfast they prepared and the gift of wonderful olive oil specially wrapped and sealed with their logo. In addition to providing great recommendations and making reservations for us, Danilo and Grazia went out of their way t help us with a special problem. I can’t recommend them highly enough! We look forward to a return visits one day!

Memorable Trip

My wife and I stayed for 40 days during Christmas and New Year’s at this lovely apartment and had a wonderful time with the hosts. Even though it was a cold winter, we were able to keep ourselves warm in the jacuzzi, take very hot showers and get good nights of sleep covered with heavy blankets provided in the apartment. This house is truly unique having been carefully renovated and crafted by the hosts. You will have everything you need from a strong wifi, big flat-screen tv, fully equipped kitchen and all the amenities to make for a great stay in Tuscany. The host family was super kind, receiving us with a drink and snacks, offering us gifts and local olive oil, answering all our questions about the region and offering local tips, including when I needed to get my car reviewed by a mechanic. They were always available and going out of their way to make for an amazing experience. If you’re looking for an authentic stay in Tuscany with all the benefits of a 5 star hotel, I would really recommend this house by the aqueduct. Great apartment in lovely location

The apartment is in a great location with an easy walk into Luccainto the hills along the aqueduct. The apartment is spacious and very clean and the hot tub is amazing. Danilo was great very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, we arrived in Lucca early, so as we couldn’t access the apartment until the cleaners had finished, he met us at the station to collect our bags so we could have a wander around Lucca and not have to carry them. He also made us a lovely breakfast on our last morning, which was served in the garden. He’s there when you need him but otherwise we didn’t see him so you get a sense of privacy. The only suggestions I would have and they are very minor, would be to put hand soap by the sinks and a coffee machine would be good. I would definitely recommend the apartment and would stay there again. Thanks for everything Danilo and I’m still upset we couldn’t take the fabulous olive oil!

Week in Lucca with a baby

Danilo was a great host, and made us feel at home immediately. The property is surrounded by natural beauty, and the aqueduct sets the perfect background. Walking in through the back entrance through the garden to the top floor apartment, you feel immediately at peace in among the rose bushes and jasmine. The inside of the apartment is well furnished. There is a small, windowless changing room off of the hot tub room, which we used as a room for our infant son’s crib. It was not totally ideal because it was quite small, but our son slept great in there. My only two minor complaints were that no bath towels were provided, only some robes. Also, the clothes drying machine wasn’t working but Danilo kindly let us use his dryer inside his residence. Within a short walk is a pizza / cafe that is open early. Lucca is a short drive. Would highly recommend this place!!

Lovely family, lovely place!

Lovely family, lovely place! My family just spent a week in Lucca at the smart apt- what a wonderful experience! We arrived after driving from Rome- with gps it was easy and hosts gave us our own parking space. We were greeted in the relaxing garden with an aperitif- fruit soda and Macedonia and lemon sorbet- refreshing! We met the family turtle, melody. Danilo, our host and his entire family made us feel welcome and at home. The apt looks just like the pictures. There is one bedroom with a skylight and a gorgeous view of an aqueduct- amazing! The family room has a comfortable and large sofa bed as well as a chair bed- plenty of space for our 2 teens. There was good wifi which we all appreciated! Jacuzzi was a relaxing end to our daily touring. Apt has a refrigerator/ freezer/ microwave and towels and some cleaning supplies. We did bring our own bath/ shower supplies. Danilo was very responsive and provided help when needed. He gave us awesome dinner recommendations and highlights of what to see and do- he really knows his stuff and kindly made reservations for us- our best meals in touring Italy for 10 days were thanks to Danilo. There are a few restaurants ( one pizza place) that u can walk to from apt- they r just ok. Danilo and his wife prepared a plentiful and typical Italian breakfast for us in the beautiful garden- what a sweet touch and lovely experience. We cannot say enough how much we enjoyed the apt- great location for touring Tuscany and nothing beats the hospitality and kindness of our hosts! We hope to come back some day!

My husband and I spent our favorite week in Italy in this wonderful apartment. The apartment is located above Danilo's family home. The entire family is fantastically helpful, and accommodating. We didn't want for anything. From this fantastic location we went on many walks and hikes, checked out Lucca, went for a day in Cinque Terre, quick side trip to Pisa, did a hike around Calci and lunched nearby at a great restaurant named Il Conventino. (Check out the wild boar pasta). Our favorite day was hiking up the aqueduct, lunching in Vorno, and making our way back home on some trails and streets (very useful is: openstreetmaps.org). There are so very many local walks and hikes it is amazing. The apartment itself is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked, not for gourmet cooking , but for breakfasts and take out pizza dinners fantastic! The living room was very comfortable and inviting. The bedroom was perfect for our one week stay. There are 2 showers - one by the jacuzzi. And 2 bathrooms. The jacuzzi was well maintained and very nice to relax in. We stayed here in early November and had to use the heat every once in a while. It kept us nice and cozy. The views out the bedroom window is just perfect. I can't say enough great things about Danilo and his family. One night we were surprised by his daughter carrying a tray with 2 bowls of gelato up to us as a friends gelato shop had closed for the winter. It was delicious!! I would definitely recommend having a car for this location as it is a drive to most anywhere. Driving here was easy, we rented a car in Florence, it really helped to have our phone GPS and a designated navigator to help with the foreign language issues we had. There is a great parking spot out in front of the apartment. Can't recommend this apartment enough. You won't be sorry and you may even leave with some great olive oil if you are lucky.

A beautiful flat in a spectacular rural setting.

We had a most enjoyable two week holiday in this lovely flat which occupies the top floor of a beautifully restored old house. Our hosts Danilo, Grazia and their two girls Gloria and Dalia made us so welcome and were always around to offer advice or suggestions for days out if needed but at the same time respected our privacy. Grazia has added some beautiful touches to the flat and is responsible for the décor and furnishings. A cosy open plan lounge with comfortable sofas and a kitchen with everything you could possibly need, a lovely bedroom overlooking the garden and aqueduct with its own en suite shower/toilet and also another bathroom off the lounge which is handy if four guests stay. The hot tub was very refreshing after a long day walking and could be set at a lower temperature which was great when the weather was hot. The flat has its own private entrance and the garden has shaded seating areas both for relaxing and eating and a couple of sun loungers for soaking up the sun. We did have some company in the garden, the family tortoise called Melody who was no bother at all and was usually just relaxing in the shaded areas. We were treated to the most amazing Italian breakfasts during our stay which were served by Danilo in the little shaded area at the bottom of the garden. We didn't have the use of a car and Danilo kindly helped us get our shopping from the supermarket on the first day which was really kind. Unfortunately the local village mini market is no longer open so we shopped in Lucca, just picking up a few items from a small but well stocked Conad supermarket within the walls. We could also walk to the Co-op in the next village by using the aqueduct path and then a quiet road which took 20 minutes each way. We had some wonderful days out by train and bus. The walk to the station along the aqueduct takes about 25 minutes and brings you out in the back of the station. The bus station is located within the walls of Lucca and is another ten minute walk from the station. We visited Florence, Montecatini Terme (with the lovely Tettucio Spa and tram to Montecatini Alto) and Pisa by train and used the bus to visit Ponte Serriglio. We did eat out and tried the Pizza place just round the corner from the flat, Casina delle Rose along the aqueduct and The Old City Bar within the walls, all were good. I would definitely recommend this beautiful flat to others, it is set in the most tranquil countryside but at the same time close to all amenities.

liebevoll historisch eingerichtete Wohnung mit hervorragenden Gastgebern

Wir haben 6 Tage als Familie mit insgesamt 3 Personen in diesem Appartement verbracht. Die Zeit dort hat uns sehr gut gefallen. In den ganzen Jahren, in denen wir bereits Urlaub in Ferienwohnungen oder Häusern machen, hatten wir nie so freundliche und zuvorkommende Gastgeber, wie Danilo und seine Frau. Vom ersten Moment haben wir uns absolut wohl und umsorgt gefühlt. Jede Frage wurde schnell und unkompliziert beantwortet und auch die Tips für Ausflüge und Restaurants waren immer hervorragend. Ein großes Lob für die Gastgeber, die den Balanceakt zwischen Privatsphäre und Fürsorge perfektioniert haben. Die Ferienwohnung ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail historisch eingerichtet worden. Zusammen mit den wunderschönen Aussichten aus den Fenstern fühlt man sich sofort in der Zeit zurückversetzt und schaltet in den Urlaubsmodus. Der Garten ist ideal zum Verweilen und Buch lesen geeignet. Der Blick auf das Aquädukt ist dabei spektakulär. Wir haben dort oft gefrühstückt und den Tag ganz in Ruhe begonnen. Die Wohnung liegt in einer Sackgasse, sodass es keinen Durchgangsverkehr gibt. Vor dem Haus ist eine besondere Mineralwasser-Quelle, an dem das Trinkwasser geholt werden kann. Ein Parkplatz für das Auto ist auch direkt vor dem Haus. Für Ausflüge in die Gegend ist der Ausgangspunkt gut geeignet. Pisa, San Gimignano, der Stand und Florenz sind schnell mit dem Auto zu erreichen. In der Gegend gibt es einige gute Restaurants. Uns hat das Casa delle Rose am besten gefallen. 80 Meter von der Unterkunft entfernt, kann man nach einem sehr guten Essen mit Hauswein bequem am Aquädukt entlang zurück schlendern. Besonders die Meeresfrüchte sind zu empfehlen. Der Service ist schnell und freundlich, wir waren rundum zufrieden. Noch kurz zu den wichtigsten Punkten bei der Ausstattung. Das Bett ist sehr bequem und die Matratzen von hoher Qualität. Ich habe selten so gut gelegen. Es ist sehr sauber und Klimageräte können genutzt werden, falls es zu warm/kalt wird. Alles in allem ein toller Aufenthalt und wir haben uns fest vorgenommen wieder zu kommen.

Great place and wonderful hospitality!

"La Dimora dei Conti" is absolutely worth a visit. Grazia, Gloria, Dalia and Danilo are the perfect hosts in a wonderful area. We want to thank the lovely family for the warm welcome, the olive oil, the great breakfast and the restaurant recommendations. The apartment close to Lucca is a good starting point to several typical tuscany cities with a restaurant just next door. The apartment is lovely decorated, very tidy and has a wonderful and cozy bed. We just spent five nights there, but we really hope to come back someday.

A beautiful stay

the hosts are a lovely italian family, very welcoming, extremely helpful. very responsive at all stages, always eager to help. offered some great recommendations on local restaurants and other. the area is just beautiful, just 15 minutes from Lucca, which is a tranquil pictursque town. also the location is very handy for other attractions, just 30minutes from Pisa tower and 1 hour from Florence. the apartment has been given lots of love and attention by the hosts, esp. so by hostess Grazia who has decorated it we particularly loved the jacuzzi which is much bigger than it shows in the pictures

Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a romantic getaway!

Sidrak welcomed us with coffee and ice cream and walked us through the apartment at check in, which we really appreciated. There were a lot of small touches in the Airbnb and the hot tub was amazing! Sidrak went above and beyond to provide recommendations and set up reservations. We enjoyed a wine tasting and lunch at Poggio and saw a beautiful sunset in Monte Carlo. The apartment is located close to both places along with a short ride to Pisa and Lucca’s city center. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a romantic getaway!
