First, we were 6 adults and two children and we had plenty of room. Second, the villa was charmingly old and felt authentic (I enjoyed the "oldness" - I felt that it captured what life would have been like living there). Third, there was a minor problem with the water pressure in the kitchen and the host responded quickly and appropriately. Fourth, the property required a walk up the hill from downtown, but the view was worth it. Fifth, the property was situated right beside the footpath that goes from Levanto to Monterosso (I hiked from the villa to Monterosso and there were beautiful views and people along the way). Also, the host helped us get a local cook to prepare a meal for us one evening. She was the best!

The rooms were clean but the waste issue was not nice. The kitchen was working well and the outside tables/chairs as well. The pool was very small and not in a good condition. The place is not good for small children. The road to the place was horribly, very challenging to get there by car and you need at least a SUV and even then difficult.The host was vey nice and helpful

WHAT WE LOVED•Spectacular location and views.•Well-stocked kitchen with a great five-burner gas stove.•Comfortable beds, linens and pillows.•A very responsive owner who quickly addressed issues.SUGGESTIONSPlumbing: Water pressure was low throughout the stay and hot water was inconsistent. Two upstairs sinks drained slowly and need snaking.Storm: During a heavy thunderstorm, rain came in under the closed back door and the upstairs master bedroom doors. We spent over an hour mopping up. Drainage and door seals need attention.Cleaning: Rooms were cleaned well before arrival, leaving dust and dead insects. Floors were dirty (our white mopping towels turned tan), and the master shower had black mold that cleaned off easily. A touch-up clean before check-in would help.Comfort: Window screens (there's no A/C), bedroom trash cans, and replacement light bulbs.Kitchen: Towels, dish soap and sponges; repair of several non-working small appliances; a new knife set, as two handles came off.Outdoors: Two sprinkler heads need replacing; one sprays straight up at night.Recycling: Clear instructions and the right bins so guests can join Levanto's impressive system.Aside from the storm, our group thoroughly enjoyed our time at the villa. With these fixes, it could be truly exceptional.

What a beautiful place! It’s an old villa but really gorgeous with terrific views. The beach is about 10 minutes walk downhill and a slog uphill coming back! Levanto is a lovely place. It was spring tides and the surfers were all out! Lots of terrific places to eat and swim and shop.

The Levento villa is up a manageable but narrow road, with great views of the Mediterranean. It worked well for our two families of 4 (8 people total).

Wonderful experience

Paolo was an excellent host and this property is amazing. Paolo met us at the train station, along with a shuttle for us and our large group’s luggage. The shuttle was essential throughout our trip as this property is up a long and steep hill from the main town. The house is well kept and the accommodations were perfect - even had a changing table and crib for our toddler. The views are amazing and even in summer there was no need for AC given the constant and cool breeze. I wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend this house and the town of Levanto. We found Levanto a much more enjoyable town to stay vs the Cinque Terre towns.

Fantastic stay in the most lovely villa with yard.

Pros: Well kept Italian yard, opportunity to eat outside, balconies with view. Pool. Quite spacious. Small garden cottage house with queen bed and attached full bathroom. The villa is a short but steep 10 minute hike up from Levanto town that it owns its views. There is a direct short way to the beach down stairs and the boat connecting the Cinque Terre villages. The hiking trail to Monterosso al Mare is passing by the villa separated by a dense hedge.

I have never written a negative review on Vrbo, but our stay at the Villa “Mesco” in Levanto turned out to be a disaster. I wish we would have chosen a different place. The whole experience was very disappointing, to say the least. The photos make the place look so nice; it is a beautiful location high on a hill, but the reality was far from it. We were 2 families traveling together, 3 adults and 3 young adults (19-21) for a four-night stay. We were prepared for no air conditioning, but not prepared for a bug infestation. While having to keep the windows open because of the heat—and no window screens— wasps were flying all around; likely there was a nest or two somewhere. Along with the wasps, there were carpenter ants crawling out of the walls in the bathrooms, bedrooms, and the kitchen. Spiders adorned the guest cottage ceiling and more carpenter ants doing a conga line in the bathroom. We did our best to address the problem by clogging the holes, sweeping the ceiling of spiders, and killing some wasps, but we were outnumbered. Not really something you want to deal with when you first arrive at a vacation rental. Our kids nicknamed it the “hell house”. My husband and I had to swap rooms with our daughter because she was terrified by the spiders and carpenter ants in the cottage. We told our host, Paolo, about the bugs, and he came over right away. He said he took care of them, but wasps were still flying around after he told us that. Apart

Wir waren im August zu Gast. Die Sauberkeit im Haus war ok. Der Weg bzw. die Straße zum Haus ist abenteuerlich, keine Empfehlung für Kinderwagen. Zum Strand und in das Städtchen ist man zu Fuß in 10 Min, Supermarkt ist ebenfalls ganz in der Nähe.

Magnifique emplacement

Cette belle maison est idéalement situé, à 10 minutes à pied du centre de Levanto (attention ça grimpe) et directement sur le sentier de la randonnée vers Monterosso. L'équipement est correct et la maison a beaucoup de charme. La cinquième chambre est en fait une dépendance qui se situe dans le jardin. Lea piscine est plus petite que sur les photos mais agréable. Le seul bémol du séjour est la propreté. En effet nous aurions apprécié que la maison soit nettoyé avant notre arrivée. Nous avons échangé avec notre hôte et il est intervenu le lendemain mais pas suffisamment à notre goût et spécifiquement dans la dépendance.
