A genuine home away from home

Unfortunately, my trip was cut short by the virus because I would have loved to stay the full time. The apartment is located in what is now a lovely area, complete with major galleries, bars, and some of the best grocery stores, food courts, and restaurants in all of NOLA. The apartment is a treasure with plenty of space, high ceilings, and all the amenities of home. You also have the privilege of seeing the beautiful artwork of Matilde and Gustavo, which puts the apartment well above the ordinary. The area is not only interesting but also very safe and just a short walk to the Riverfront shopping and the Quarter. The hosts are a delightful couple who made it very easy to move in and were responsive to any of my requests. It would be difficult to find a better place in New Orleans.

Great apartment in a fabulous location

Everything you would need in this apartment for your stay in NOLA! It’s close to St. Charles for Mardi Gras parade routes and the street cars. So many restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, bars, and grocery store all within walking distance! The French Quarter and Riverwalk also close to walk to. There is a farmers market every Saturday am a few blocks away. The building and apartment is very secure. The internet is pretty slow because it is in a shared building. But overall, so extremely happy with our stay here! Thanks Matilde:) Can’t wait to come back!

The apartment is artistically decorated with unique arts that are done by the owners, who are super nice and accommodating during my entire stay. Excellent location with walking distances to coffee shops, restaurants and the attractions. I love the experience here and would recommend it to the others.

A calm apartment in a fun city

A great apartment from which to explore all corners of the city, not just the French Quarter. Everything is within a short, pleasant walk. And there are some great restaurants, galleries, live music venues and museums right on your doorstep. The apartment is quiet, comfortable and stylish, with lovely high ceilings. It has all you need. The owner is friendly and helpful, and gave us a wonderful welcome. We relaxed and settled in as soon as we arrived. Not sure we could have asked for more.

Excellent apartment in warehouse district - close to everything in NOLA

This 1 bedroom apartment is full of interesting art. It is clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic. The warehouse district has amazing restaurants and art galleries. Safe and easy to walk through the area. You can walk or take a taxi ($7), bus or street car to the Quarter or Garden District. Excellent place to stay. Matilde was helpful and friendly.

Being in this perfect location , so close to everything, so quiet for resting!! it's dreamlike. Very often we stay few days in our place to enjoy a vacation in our own city! All the best restaurants, bars, art scene, music venues are walking distance... we are very happy that you were able to enjoy it too.

So close, yet far enough!

Absolutely lovely to have been able to wander in the French Quarter as often as our hearts desired, thanks to the proximity of the condo. Yet, it was equally lovely to be away from the party noise and cheers, surrounded by delightful lofts and historically charming buildings. The artsy feel of the condo with high ceilings and tasteful works of art fit perfectly in that decor. The neighborhood is very clean and safe (as is the access to the condo building). Air exchanger/conditioning was a bit noisy, as can be Magazine street by night when you open the windows. And we would've appreciated more appropriate kitchen attire to cook meals "at home"; which was our intent when we rented the flat with a kitchen. But there is no doubt that Matilde and Gustavo were warm, kind, caring, accommodating, available, welcoming and attentive; which was crucial to our level of appreciation of this colorful, vibrant and absolutely mesmerizing city. Oh by the way, check out the Saturday morning Farmer's Market in the nearby parking lot....best bread we've ever tasted!

Dear Maganga, I wished you have said something about the noise the first time you noticed, I would have it fixed.... but nobody has complained about it either after... I will have it checked anyway. And when you told me that our cutting knife wasn't too good, you clearly stated that it was no need to bring new ones (which I said I would that same day). I wish you had let me do it, you would have been more comfortable...in any case we added more cutting knives , among other things. A normal process, we keep improving..

Lovely Condo in a great location!

My husband and I spent a great week here exploring New Orleans and attending Jazz Fest. The condo was conveniently located and an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go, including the river, French Quarter and wonderful restaurants. No vehicle needed. Lovely decor, including original artwork by the owners, and all the comforts of home. Matilde and Gustovo are the most gracious of hosts and went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. We will definitely be back!

Greetings! We are Matilde and Gustavo, both visual artists. We came in 1999 to NewOrleans for an exhibit of Gustavo and barely few hours later fell irrevocably in love with the city.
Gustavo is a well-known artist and regularly shows abroad and other cities of the United States. His work (and mine) are permanently on display at Kezic Gallery in the FrenchQuarter. You might want to organize a visit to Gustavo’s art studio in the Bywater.
We moved to New Orleans where we found a perfect mélange of village and city life with great entertainment. We are foodies, finding wonderful dining experiences in New Orleans is easy and are plentiful. We stroll while sipping our drinks (it’s “legal” here) and enjoy our architectural treasures in the afternoon, meet friends or chase fabulous music at the many venues and festivals around the city. And most of it, if not all can be done walking!
We are owners and managers of our property. We like to personally greet our visitors if possible. We are attentive to all of our guests needs and inquiries but understand that we are not part of the planned vacation. We are available if needed.

We lived in the French Quarter, then the Lower Garden District and found the Arts District/CBD a perfect mélange of village and city life and entertainment. The spaces of our condo are airy and comfortable and the location couldn’t be more perfect.

I, Matilde love to cook, and we are foodies. Finding wonderful dining experiences in New Orleans is easy and are plentiful. Finding excellent produce and products is a must and nothing can compete with our weekly farmer’s market. We stroll while sipping our drinks and discover new architectural treasures in the afternoon, power walk to the fabulous New Orleans Athletic Club, meet friends at a bar or restaurant or chase one of the fabulous musicians at Tipitina’s, the House of Blues, the Spotted Cat or DBA. And all of it walking. We are very lucky!
