We cannot comment enough about the perfect location The Picayune Building is to all of the downtown New Orleans sights & sounds, attractions, events, venues, fun and FOOD there is within just a few blocks. Bonus for you to be here and only 3 blocks away from enjoying one of our world famous parades, not during Mardi Gras, Krewe of Boo! Halloween parade! It really is the locals' favorite! Thank you for the special shout out to our VacayNOLA team; Barbara for her efficiently detailed information about the condo and special options she has for selected guests, to Candace, the Housekeeping Supervisor that makes sure you are comfortable in a clean condo during your stay, and the fantastic design team for all those little details that explain how important The Picayune Building was, as the 1850 - 1969 home of the Daily Picayune Newspaper which morphed into the Times-Picayune Newspaper, still in print today. Once you realize the newspaper building was in the heart of the city, every other attraction, adventure, and restaurants all in walking distance, places you right where you need to be; close to streetcars, to venture out to other areas of the city, ferry across the River, strolling through Jackson Square then over to Cafe Du Monde for coffee & beignets or those haunted walking tours, Jazz clubs, everything you could want in an 8 block walk. Those little extras of bottles of water and Gatorade in the fridge, a few extra trash bags, dishwasher tablets, sponge and dish soap, Tide pods and fabric softener sheets ( we know our scrumptious foods can drip on your clothes, no need to take home food stains, just those memories ) French Market Coffee packets, to the hairdryer, bath soaps, shampoos and lotions, we want you to feel at home. We actually had a lot of fun with the décor and "themes" of each condo, based off sections of The Times - Picayune Newspaper, the original home of the newspaper in this building. Yes, those are original prints in this condo and all of the other condos VacayNOLA manages. With this condo being "Comics" we had to keep it fun and whimsical, yet modern and mostly comfortable. We would love to have you stay with us again, in this one bedroom / 1 bath, or should you bring back friends, we also have 2 bedroom / 2 bath condos even 3 bedroom / 3 bath condos, that are two story and have plenty of space for your group of 6 to spread out. Thank you Leslie for the 5 Star Review, despite the noisy neighbors and that trash pick up from the alley. At least it's not like int he French Quarter, where trash pick up starts about 3 AM, along with the myriad of other delivery and service trucks with those back up alarm bells. At least they don't start until about 7 AM here. Because the alley is so narrow, they do have to push all the dumpsters and cans from the alley to the next side street. We do hate that that woke you up, I guess we are used to that "city noise" . Ear plugs might help some, but at least the bedroom is dark for sleeping in a little longer. It really is a great location!

You can literally walk to anywhere in about 15 - 20 minutes for food, music, attractions and all our cultures and traditions. Since the Picayune Building is in the Central Business District and not within the boundary of the French Quarter, you do get a quieter neighborhood but with the walkability to all those things to do, go, see and eat.
