Beautiful traditional property right in the heart of wonderful Tavira- no need to hire a car , everything is there on your doorstep including supermarket, ferry to beach, restaurants,.... Lovely spacious balcony to sit out on( with canopy if needed )is a great plus along with the fantastic shower to refresh you after being out in the heat.

The house was perfect for us ( 2couples). it is spacious, well equipped with large bedrooms and bathrooms, spotlessly clean and close to all a amenities. We really enjoyed drinks and relaxing on the large sunny terrace.Jonny greeted us on arrival and was easy to contact, he was flexible on arrival and departure times and dealt with queries very promptly.We had a wonderful holiday at Casa Joaquim and are happy to recommend it.

The home is very accommodating, beds are queen size and very comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped with a lovely terrace off of it that we couldn't take much advantage of due to weather. The property managers were very responsive when issues arose such as water leaks from excessive rain. Overall very good place in good location.

Great Family Stay

This property was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 children age 10 and 12. The rooms were spacious, the upper patio was excellent and the kitchen was well-equipped. The value for price was surprising and the location was ideal.

Perfect location

Jonny and Angie were great hosts from the booking process and supply of information to meeting us at the property and attending to our needs swiftly and efficiently. The property is very well equipped and the location is perfect for local eateries, supermarket and the 4 minutes walk to the ferry for trips to the beach. We were beyond happy during our week in Tavira and will definitely go back.

Great central spot

Nice property and traditional decor. Very central for all amenities but not at all noisy. Parking is a bit of a hassle but it's available for free a few streets away. Nice terrace where you can BBQ. Well stocked kitchen for those wanting to cook for little ones.

Great Location and beautiful house

The house is located near all of the important things that you need, restaurants, supermarkets, a ferry to an island where you can go swimming and much more. Everything is accessable by foot. Once we arrived we were greeted by an super friendly host who gave us a lot of helpful tips. Adding to this experience, the whole house was super clean and filled with everything we needed. Overall an amazing stay, would definitely recommend!

A beautiful house with full of charm

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at this property the house was beautifully restored and had everything you could want. The area of the house is spot on plenty of beautiful restaurants close by. We especially recommend La Petite France just a street behind the house. A stroll across the bridge and down the side of the estuary brings you to the ferry port which takes you to the stunning Ilse of Tavira. Enjoyable stay in Tavira

Beautiful house in the prettiest town. We were so lucky as there was a music festival on and we got to see different bands every night in the town. I loved the cobbled streets and sitting down with a cold beer and people watching. The ferry to the beach is 5 minutes away from the house and for €2 you get a return ticket. Beaches are beautiful, powder sands and plenty of bars and restaurants. We had some of the best food in the smaller restaurants. Local places are just the best. The house was ideal for us, 5 adults. We spent most of our time there sitting on the balcony just off the kitchen. Such a nice area to sit and eat drink and chat. We loved it in Tavira that we will definitely be back.

Lovely home in the heart of Tavira

A Lovely and comfortable property in the heart of Tavira. A 5 minute walk from all the shops, restaurants and ferry stop to get to the beach. The property had everything we needed for our stay and there was prompt communication with the owners when we needed it. Our family particularly enjoyed relaxing and eating on the terrace every night. Would highly recommend! The property is on two levels and the steps to enter the house are steep so it is not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility. The stovetop espresso pots were unusable but there were two other options of coffee makers that we used during our stay.

Great apartment in a great town

We had a great 3 week stay here and loved the town of Tavira. The apartment was perfect for our stay and was well equipped for the breakfasts and occasional meals we had in vs dining out. Angie was very responsive when we contacted her. 2 minor issues beyond their control: The free parking beside Pingo Doce was a bit of a challenge at times with us getting the last spot on more than 1 occasion. Too bad there are so many unused cars taking up spots there while waiting for service in nearby shops. New piping was being installed all around our part of town and not sure if it was from that work, but sometimes there was a funky smell seemingly coming from the drains. Otherwise, great spot in a great location.

Lovely house in a great location

Just come back from 9nights in Tavira, Jonny met us there early morning and fortunately we were able to check straight in which was helpful. A welcome bottle of vinho verde was left in the fridge which was a nice touch. The house is on 2 levels, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs and 1 bedroom and bathroom upstairs along with the kitchen and outdoor terrace. The rooms were large and air conditioned, and the terrace got the afternoon sun. Really well equipped kitchen which although we didn’t cook was useful. There were coffee pods and teabags etc but no washing up liquid and only 1 toilet roll in each bathroom, for the sake of a few euros they would have been handy to have had. The house had 2 hairdryers and provided beach towels which was really useful. A 4 minute walk took you to the ferry and the heart of the town. A really pretty house, we hope to return!

excellent location

The house is very well presented, spacious and has everything needed for self catering, and a delightful terrace which we used for all our meals - great weather! The air con was extremely welcomed. There is definitely no need for a car to access most areas of the town, which has a good variety of restaurants. One of the nearest was La Petite France (very well worth a visit) but, be aware, that this and some others did not accept credit cards. A large supermarket is within walking distance - useful for immediate necessities. We did have to wait to meet up with the agent for the key when we arrived, which was rather irritating after the journey and the reason why we could not give it 5 stars. However, otherwise good, friendly service, which would encourage us to return.

Wonderful location and home

We couldn’t have chosen a better location for our stay in Tavira. Any of the services we needed such as groceries, pharmacy,restaurants, bike rental, were no more than a ten minute walk, and I’m a slow walker! The Roman Bridge and walk along the river was not even five minutes. The house was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The three bedrooms were large and beautifully furnished with antiques and had large bright windows. The two bathrooms were roomy and convenient. We didn’t get to use the outside patio off of the kitchen as much as we would have liked to because the weather was not conducive, but we enjoyed it on the nice days. We also appreciated the convenience of being able to store our bikes inside the enclosed space just inside the front door. We hope to get back to Tavira and will certainly stay at Casa Joaquin again.

Great property and good location

This was a very spacious, lovely, and enjoyable property for us. The location is quiet, convenient, and walkable to everything in Tavira. It is just set back from the river and there are numerous restaurants for evening dining within 10 minutes walk. All the bedrooms had air-conditioning which was nice, and the beds were comfortable as well. The outdoor patio was ideal and made the perfect spot for us to visit, spend hours playing cards and sipping excellent Portuguese wine. The kitchen was very well equipped. We used the large nearby market to buy items to make our breakfasts at home each day and items for one very good at-home dinner after a long day at the beach. We have been traveling Spain and Portugal by car for 7 weeks, and for our group, this was one of the best of the 8 house rentals we have done on this trip. One note: Like many older homes in the region - this is a vertical layout on three floors. So, if you have trouble with stairs, it may not be the best choice for you. For us, however, it was perfect.

10/10 – Hervorragend

Absolutely perfect!!!

We were a party of 3 middle aged couples and we spent 12 nights at Earl's House in Tavira, at the end of September, 2015!! This place was amazing and exceeded our collective expectations! First of all, it was very clean and inviting, with its blend of authentic Portuguese charm and modern updates. Secondly, it was a very large living space, accommodating 3 couples for a fairly lengthy time! The apartment is laid out over 2 floors, with 3 large, attractive bedrooms(decorated with Portuguese tile works) that had comfortable beds and large windows, 2 large bathrooms that had great water pressure and quick action water heaters, a very well equipped kitchen that opens onto a beautiful outdoor terrace, which was another wonderful 'living room', where we were able to eat all of our meals al fresco and a very comfortable living room, on the first floor!! The apartment is in a PERFECT location to everything that is amazing about Tavira.....the River Gilao, the garden square, Bishop Square, quaint shops, sidewalk restaurants and bars!! As well, it is about 2 blocks to the grocery store! Tavira is Paradise and Earl's House was the perfect place to call 'home', while we were there!

Cannot wait to come back

This property is just lovely, well exceeding our expectations. Communication with Angie and Jonny both before our arrival and during was excellent. They kindly arranged taxis to and from Faro airport for us. We have two teenagers, so the house worked perfectly. The kids having the gorgeous downstairs rooms, sharing their own bathroom, whilst we had the bedroom upstairs with our own bathroom. The vaulted wooden ceilings in the upstairs bedroom and kitchen are so pretty. The kitchen is very modern and well appointed. It even had a teapot, which i loved! The AC was a godsend on the plus 30c days. The terrace is not huge but perfect, it has a fabric awning which you can lower for shade. There is a washing machine too, which means we packed light and just did a few loads. We didnt have a car, but being so central it didnt matter at all. The supermarket is a 5 min walk, there is gorgeous bakery 2 doors down (Mr.Portugese) plus cafes and restaurants nearby. The ferry to the beach is just over the bridge, so close. We found the restaurants this side of the river much less touristy than the other side. We recommend Terraze, La Salto and Ti Maria Tapas. Tavira isn't a massive place, the main attraction is definitely the gorgeous beach. However, we were after a very chilled break, so for us it was perfect. I cannot wait to come back and stay in Casa Joaquim again!
