Fühlen Sie sich willkommen in unserem neu gebauten Ferienhaus - Juwel am Fluss

Eingebettet in einem wunderschönen, abgeschiedenen Tal, in der Nähe des Dorfes Santa Catarina und 20 Autominuten von der historischen Stadt Tavira und ihren goldenen Stränden entfernt.
Ria Joia bietet bequem Platz für 4 Personen mit einem Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett und einem Schlafzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten (Etagenbett).
Das Haus wurde mit Blick auf Komfort eingerichtet und ist dank der doppelt so hohen Holzdecken lichtdurchflutet; die gesamte Bettwäsche besteht aus 100 % Baumwolle und wird stolz in Portugal hergestellt.
Sommergäste werden die Klimaanlage im Doppelzimmer und im Wohnzimmer zu schätzen wissen.
Die Böden sind mit lokal hergestellten Terrakottafliesen und wunderschönem portugiesischem Stein in den Badezimmern gefliest.
Da es sich um eine vom Eigentümer selbst geführte Unterkunft handelt, sind wir bei Bedarf immer für euch da!
Kommt und erlebt das authentische Landleben an der Algarve!
Ria Joia liegt im Dorf der Glasschleifer, in einem Tal, das die Zeit auf wunderbare Weise vergessen hat. Acht Monate im Jahr schlängelt sich der wunderschöne Fluss São Bras do Alportel am unteren Ende des Gartens entlang.
Es gibt so viele wundervolle Spazierwege zu entdecken, und im Frühling kannst du nach wilden Orchideen, Lupinen und Iris Ausschau halten. Erhasche einen Blick auf die leuchtend gelben Pirolen, Nachtigallen, Adler und viele andere erstaunliche Tier- und Pflanzenarten. Dieser reichhaltige und vielfältige Lebensraum beherbergt Wildschweine, Otter und Mungos. Nachts kann ein scharfes Ohr vielleicht den Ruf einer Waldkauz ausmachen.

Je nach Jahreszeit kannst du in unserem 7 m x 4 m großen Swimmingpool ein erfrischendes Bad oder ein kaltes Sprungbad mit Blick auf das Flussbett genießen. Such dir im 1,5 Acre großen Garten unter einem der vielen Oliven-, Johannisbrot- oder Zitrusbäume einen kühlen Platz zum Sitzen und Lesen.
Hier, in dieser unberührten Oase der Algarve, erwacht der Nachthimmel zum Leben.
Schalte ab und finde wieder Anschluss an den Kosmos. Romantik unter einem Sternenteppich.
Es gibt unbegrenzten Highspeed-Satelliten-Internetzugang von Starlink (perfekt für digitale Nomaden und alle anderen!)

A wonderful cottage in a dreamy setting. Really nicely renovated with a mix of traditional and modern features. Nice sized rooms and kitchen well equipped. Nice modern bathroom and good but quiet air conditioning in bedroom and living room. Really nice pool in lovely grounds that stretch down to a river (dry in summer). Lots of citrus plants in the gardens and lovely views all around. Gas barbecue a bonus especially in hot weather. Hosts are super nice and helpful if needed.Will definitely return.

Just returned from a 2 week stay at Ria Joia Hideaway which I can only describe as faultless in all aspects. The host made us very welcome from arrival until departure. Nothing was too much trouble and were very discreet . The pool was kept to a fantastic standard and was a pleasure to jump in or sit around looking at the scenery in the hills.The villa had everything and more that you would need and was spotless , you felt at home within 10 minutes!I would 100 percent recommend staying here and intend coming back whenever we can ,Thank you so much for your very kind hospitality and looking after us so well.See you soon,Brian & Caroline.

Gorgeous location nice property

This is a lovely villa in a quiet and beautiful location in the bend of a river (dry in summer as are a lot of rivers in the Algarve) looking out to the mountains Angela and Jonny are on site and great hosts, discreet and knowledgeable. Good recommendations for eating out and things to see and do in this beautiful and much quieter area of the Algarve.

Lovely house in a peaceful setting

We loved our stay at this property, the owners were very accommodating and helpful. The house was very clean and decorated very tastefully and has a lovely swimming pool which our boys loved using. The location is not very far from Tavira and a short drive to a number of amazing beaches.

Very nice house with many fine design details. Large and well equipped kitchen, large shaded patio / pool area w. quality furniture. The surrounding hills create a wonderful backdrop for enjoying our vacation. Many fine hiking opportunities within a short distance. Aircondition and a gas BBQ also a big plus.

Beautiful cottage and gardens in the hills

We had a truly relaxing stay in Angie and Jonny’s wonderful cottage. Angie and Jonny made us feel welcome immediately. The cottage is spacious, with a modern open plan but felt cosy and warm even in December. A great location for appreciating nature, peace and quiet.

Lovely villa and pool. Everything we needed was there. Beds very comfy. 25 mins away from Tavira where there were bars, restaurants, beach etc. Hosts were very discreet but helpful if needed

Great stay

Just returned from a weeks stay at this property..we were met by Angie upon arrival and have to say she was a great host..she showed us around and gave us plenty of useful tips for our stay...the property is clean modern and spacious and is set in an absolutely great location where you can relax and just take life easy ..outside area was also spacious and getting in the pool in March a real bonus..whilst the nights are still a bit fresh the TV with Amazon prime and Netflix are also a big bonus and pop your head outside to see the clearest skies and stunning stars..thanks for everything Angie we had a great stay

A wonderful riverside hideaway.

We spent 2 wonderful weeks at Ria Joia and were made very welcome by our fabulous hosts. A beautiful house, cosy comfortable and well equipped we felt at home from the moment we arrived. The setting is stunning, peaceful gardens beside the riverbank provided a lovely place to sit and relax. In a secluded valley with lovely walks all around. A great place to stay and relax. Perfect!

Beautiful place and superb hosts

An idyllic location in the hills near Tavira. Absolutely loved our stay in this property. Angie and Johnny could not have done more to make our impromptu family holiday one to cherish. Such a tastefully developed holiday home in a stunning natural environment that comes complete with its own orchard and a special guy named Paddy. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Lovely place and owners

Well equipped, lovely and peaceful and very nice owners. Thoughtful design and everything you need. Quite remote so 20-25 mins drive to supermarket and restaurants - good roads though. Car essential. Closest town is Tavira which is very nice. Well recommended.

Is it possible to give 6 stars?

Our first holiday in Portugal and it has inspired us to go back again, and again! Staying at Ria Joia was absolutely amazing, such a beautiful home in an idyllic setting. If you yearn for peace and quiet with a touch of luxury, this house has it and more! And a special mention to Angie and Johnny, just the nicest genuine people, thank you for everything!

Perfect stay

It has been a perfect escape from our busy city life, a great discovery of the back country and surroundings, although not away from the coast and even from Spain. The house has been perfect for our needs and we felt like home during the two weeks. Angie and her family have been so welcoming! Because of the heat wave those days, it was like real summer, one more unexpected gift in the spring time for us.. Recommend it and would gladly come back there

Beautiful location perfect property

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Ria Joia. The cottage is situated in a beautiful, secluded location offering peaceful relaxation combined with excellent views. Ria Joia is fully equipped with everything you need to ensure a comfortable stay plus those added personal touches that raised it just that little bit higher than most. Hosts Angie and Jonny could not have been more friendly or helpful. Thanks to you both for making our stay everything we hoped it would be. We will definitely be back!

Peaceful and comfortable country living.

We were looking for a quiet place in the country and Ria Joia was perfect for us! It is a beautiful new extension with all the comforts one would want. It is in a lovely setting just outside a small village with views of the hills and the river bed. We especially enjoyed hiking through the hills and then coming back for a refreshing dip in the pool. Thanks Angie and Jonny! We had a great time :-)

Perfect hideaway

We fully relaxed and got away from our busy lives here. The house is comfortable and really well equipped, even had a PlayStation! Wifi was great. Coming from Cornwall the beaches weren’t important to us, we just wanted to jump in and out of the pool all day! Whilst hidden away in a really quiet rural setting, getting to Tavira by car was easy. The hosts were great, so much knowledge and nothing was too much trouble. We loved our week here.

Little piece of heaven

From the moment we first had contact with the property owners to the moment we left they were super professional extremely helpful and lovely people who couldn’t do enough to make our stay the most enjoyable and relaxing ever. Lovely well furnished and comfortable accommodation with everything you could need included and anything else you need? Just ask!! Amazing hospitality

Excellent house and best-in-class landlords

We (2 adults and 2 kids) have had three weeks in this lovely property. It is very well equipped with a remarkeble degree of dedication for the interior. A big plus (while having ~33degrees outside) where the pool and the two A/Cs in the house. Angie and Jonny were very kind and helpful in arranging everything for us. In short, you can book this location if you are looking for something quite outside of the usual tourist spots…

Fabulous

We loved our stay in this beautifully renovated house set in a picturesque and peaceful valley, but only a short drive to Tavira and the coast. Angie and Jonny are ideal hosts, welcoming and friendly, and always available to deal with any issues or requests. The house is spacious, well equipped and comfortable, with plenty of outdoor space, including the pool with a lovely view (though sadly too cold for us at this time of year!) and walks down to the river. We enjoyed the scenic walks up in the hills, especially the cork oak valley. A plentiful supply of logs to keep us warm on cool evenings. And not forgetting the delightful company of Paddy!Thanks Angie and Jonny for creating such a special place. We'll be back!

I have lived in Portugal for 29 years. After visiting on holiday from the UK, returning to live here seemed the obvious thing to do! I have always felt so at home here and now have most of my family living nearby, which is wonderful.
I and my husband run Jacaranda Holidays, looking after guests and rental properties. Its a real pleasure to apply all that we have learnt, over the last 20 years in the holiday business, to give our own guests at home a holiday to remember. We are really looking forward to welcoming you to our special corner of the world!

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

My partner and I fell in love with our property and the village 21 years ago. We have just come to the end of a long road renovating our own house and the new Ria Joia rental cottage.
We have taken special care, to use national or local products, where possible. The bathroom is furnished with a beautiful grey stone mined in Portugal. We made a trip to the factory, in the middle of the country, to choose and purchase it. All the rest of the house has locally made and widely renowned Sta. Catarina (6 km away) terracotta floor tiles.
We purchased all the linen and towels in Vila Real Sto. Antonio. This large town is the centre for linen sales in the Algarve, all of the produce is made in Portugal and shipped to all corners of the globe. We are very proud that our linen and beach and bathroom towels are all of such great quality.
You may hear a mention of Paddi in the reviews, hes our little, two year old, friendly dog. Guests have asked if they can take him home in their suitcase! He likes to say hello, but lives with us.

There is a wonderful peace to our valley. I call it 'the land that time forgot'! Once here it's possible to leave any schedules and time concerns behind. For travellers who would like to benefit from some local knowledge, we are on hand to answer any questions or suggest a great day out. Algarve's beautiful beaches are a 20 minute drive from Ria Joia, Zoomarine and water parks are 40 minutes away. For those who don't wish to leave the area, there are many hiking trails and local swimming holes to explore.
