Best location

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the townhouse. The location in the centre of Tavira was unbeatable: everything we could want access to was within a 15 minute walk. Very comfortable too.

Lovely place in perfect location

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely place. The outside deck was perfect at night. Location couldn’t have been more perfect. It was clean and we were able to easily communicate with the owner. Only losing one star because the refrigerator broke on the second to last day, which was a shame as we lost some beautiful food from the market. I assume this will be fixed for the next people who stay.

Beds were hard as rocks. Second shower was do small, you could not turn around. It was literally 2X2. There was no parking. We had to oark a couple of blocks diwn the street on the plus side, the air conditioning was top notch

Hello! I always welcome suggestions and opinions. 1) Regarding the beds, I must say, for example, that the mattress on the double bed is no more than a month old and is, at best, medium/high-quality. Saying "The beds were hard as rocks" is, with all due respect, an exaggeration; 2) Yes, the second bathroom is small; 3) Is there no parking? What kind of parking would you expect? Private? There is paid public parking, as advertised. You just had to walk a little further to reach, and well, free parking; 3) On the contrary—and I appreciate your kind opinion—I don't consider the air conditioning top-notch, but merely medium-quality. In short, I find your poor assessment too harsh and, fortunately for me and all my guests (past and future), clearly atypical. Thank you. Best regards.

Great House

We wanted a place to stay for 3 weeks to enjoy the town, sunshine and day trips. House is central to everything. We weee able to cook lots of meals as kitchen is well set up. The house is dark as it is surrounded by buildings. You need to be comfortable opening the shutters on the ground d level.

Perfect location

This was a wonderful stay. I got lost driving into Tavira from Lisbon but that was just a lack of familiarity and probably underestimated the travel time by not including time for gas stops and a snack. The setting was excellent and the apartment was comfortable and charming. Jose was excellent, informative , and accomadating even though offsite. I would recommend this as a place to stay to anyone!

Lovely Townhouse!

Very private yet seconds from the center. We loved the rooftop terrace with the view of a stork's nest. Jose and Diana were most accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. We stayed 5 nights and the townhouse was equipped with everything one might need. Loved it! Michaelann & Rob, USA, May 2023

Location was perfect for Tavira

We enjoyed the location very handy to bridge, ferry, castle and shops. Roof terrace quant but no view. The property was clean and very lovely decorated. Would highly recommend only issue we had was finding coffee pods that fit the coffee maker but we made do with instant. Diana met us and was very helpful and pleasant.

Great Stay

We enjoyed our three night stay at Jose’s place in Tavira. We arrived at the train station and contacted his co-host, Diana to let her know we would meet her at the townhouse. She was just leaving a supermarket a block away and generously offered to pick us up! She showed us around the place, which looked just like the photos. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was easily walkable to anywhere in Tavira. We had a comfortable three nights. I highly recommend staying here - you won’t be disappointed.

Great location, outstanding accommodation

We were 4 seniors and we thoroughly enjoyed staying in Jose’s house. We could walk everywhere. The house was clean, nicely decorated and equiped with all the amenities you could possibly want. It is certainly one of the top vacation rentals we have had. The only negative is that you can’t park a car at the unit. We knew that it in advance and took Jose’s advise on where to park, which worked out well and was less than 5 minute walk. Would highly recommend.

Perfect - Five Stars

The position of the Townhouse is perfect - the setting is quiet and peaceful. The quality of furnishings is very good; comfortable beds and furniture. The outside patios, especially the patio that is on the roof, which can be accessed via the spiral staircase, is a place you can relax and catch the sun whilst having a glass of wine or beer. The kitchen has everything you need not that we used it much as we ate out at the numerous very good restaurants that are within walking distance. Numerous supermarkets and bakeries are nearby - everything you need on your doorstep. Whether you are a family or a couple this is the place to stay in Tavira. Booking the apartment via Jose' the owner was as simple as you can get. Would certainly stay here again when next in the beautiful town of Tavira. Thank you Jose' - Angela, John & Elysia xxx

Perfect Place

Beautiful and well appointed house, absolutely charming, in a prime location close to everything but just off the heavily traveled paths. 100% walkable. Paid day parking (9am - 7pm) right in front, free after/until. Free parking available within 3/4 minute walk to near/around Sao Francisco church. Owner/manager easy, helpful, and accommodating. Impeccably clean. Great showers. Very cool patio space with spiral stairs up to rooftop 2nd patio. Price was right. Highly recommend this house. Will absolutely be our home in Tavira whenever I visit so just make sure you don't go at the same time as we do!

Right in Town!

This cute apartment sleeps 4 comfortably and the kitchen living area was fully equipped for everything we needed. Within seconds to everything restaurants and pharmacy and minutes to edges of downtown. Only 2 things that hung us up - there is no parking at the house so we had to move the car around; and, the hot water in the showers had one temperature - hot. It didn’t seem to be possible to adjust it. These things should not keep you from renting this outstanding property, just good to know.

Well equipped, central accommodation

Refurbished and stylish traditional Portuguese house. Well equipped with good quality appliances that would suit either a couple, or 4 friends. It is situated fairly close to the main street in Tavira and is within walking distance to the restaurants and bars. It is overlooked by a rather ugly building and is adjacent to an alleyway and public parking, which can be busy at times. However, I did not find them that noisy or intrusive but please bear in mind that it was the winter period when I visited and it may be busier and therefore noisier in the summer months. My only suggestion for the owner would be, that the second main bathroom could benefit from a shower enclosure, rather than a shower curtain which I found too small and impractical to use. Apart from that the accommodation was as described.

Great Location

Stayed at Jose's house in Tavira for about 4 weeks in March 2019. Really enjoyed our stay there. Jose was very easy to work with and answered all questions in a timely manner. We were met at the house by Diana and we were given a thorough orientation. The house was clean and well supplied. We did not use the kitchen for cooking but everything seemed to be there is you wanted to pass up all the wonderful restaurants in Tavira and cook yourself. The location could not be better. The house was very quiet other than the couple of days where they were doing construction on the business directly behind the house. Everything worked as it should. The only minor issues we had were the shower curtain, especially the smaller shower (close quarters and the curtain tended to stick to your body) and ants that entered under the doorway. I would highly recommend Jose's property for anyone interested in visiting Tavira.

Schön eingerichtetes Stadthaus, mitten drin aber ruhig

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche. Das Stadthäuschen toll eingerichtet, es liegt wunderbar zentral in Tavira, man ist sofort mitten drin und kann gut auf ein Auto verzichten. Trotzdem ruhig in einer kleinen Seitenstraße. Das Patio im Dach könnte etwas ansprechender eingerichtet werden. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tolles Stadthaus, perfekte Lage

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet, und die Lage mitten in der Stadt ist perfekt: zentral (1 Minute zum nächsten Restaurant und zur Pastelaria), 3 Minuten zum Zentrum, 5 Minuten zur Fähre. Im Sommer ist abends in der Stadt immer was los (kostenlose Konzerte). Der Weg zu Supermärkten ist fußläufig (8 Minuten zu Lidl, 15 Minuten zum Pingo Doce, 5 Minuten zum Minimercado). Es gibt 2 Badezimmer, die sehr modern eingerichtet sind. Die Dachterrasse und das Patio haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Auflagen für die Liegen waren ebenso vorhanden wie Sonnenschirme für den Strand. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter und zur Ansprechpartnerin vor Ort waren komplikationslos. Endreinigung war inklusive. Insgesamt ist das Haus absolut empfehlenswert. Wir werden wieder kommen, wenn wir noch mal nach Tavira reisen.

Fast optimal

Das Haus ist genau genommen ein großzügiges, komfortables, ebenerdiges Apartment in südöstlicher Ausrichtung, da die Empore nicht nutzbar ist. Die Wohnung ist mit vielen Accessories geschmackvoll eingerichtet und unterscheidet sich deshalb sehr positiv von "normalen" Ferienwohnungen. Gleichzeitig liegt sie ruhig und sehr zentral, quasi direkt im Zentrum des unserer Ansicht nach attraktivsten Ortes der Algarve. Sie ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Alle Beschreibungen sind korrekt. Der Kontakt zu Jose, der in Lissabon lebt, war perfekt! Zwei für uns relevante Nachteile: Wie in den meisten Altbauten in Portugal soll das Toilettenpapier wegen der zu klein dimensionierten Abwasserrohre getrennt entsorgt werden. Das direkte Umfeld ist überwiegend nicht so schön. Daher haben wir das Patio im Dach nur 1x genutzt. Es war fùr uns die bisher beste FeWo in Tavira.

Hübsches Haus, zentral gelegen, ruhig und mit gut ausgerüsteter Küche.

Obschon es bei unserem Aufenthalt in Portugal fast ununterbrochen geregnet hat, haben wir die Zeit in der Algarve sehr genossenund uns hervorragend erholt. Dazu trug auch das hübsche kleine Haus in einem Hinterhof bei. Trotz zentraler Lage ist es ruhig. Parkplätze hat sind immer verfügbar und vor allem hat es uns die mit allen erforderlichen Geräten ausgestattete Küche sehr angetan. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

My family love Tavira. For some time we have spent holidays and weekends in Tavira. In 2004, we bought a little private home just in the centre of Tavira near the Gilao river, the bridges (the "Veneza" of Algarve), the churches, the beaches, the mountain, etc.
