Make yourself at home in this new peaceful retreat house with a stunning view of the Arenal Volcano. Relax in the hot tub or just lay in the hammock and listen to the many birds that make the property their home. In the evening you can have a BBQ on the oversized deck or watch your favorite movie on our 65 in TV, or maybe do some work at our workstation with a 27in i mac and fiber optics. This retreat house offers all the serenity of being in the country with all the luxury of a modern home, yet only 15 min from La Fortuna and all of the Hot Springs and activities.

We loved staying here! The home has tons of space, beautiful views, comfortable beds, an amazing kitchen. Spending quiet time here after active days was the perfect way to unwind.
The entrance to the property is just before this sign, on the right. This was a helpful landmark for us so wanted to share.
Just relaxing in the hammock and taking in the beautiful view from the outdoor space!

Our family had a wonderful stay! Everything was as described. Woke up to beautiful volcano views each day. Location was convenient for sightseeing nearby attractions and it was great to come home to a peaceful and serene environment in the evenings.

The house is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. Great location, just far enough away to disconnect and close enough to La Fortuna for day trips. Brian and Dennis were very helpful and made sure we had a nice stay. If I get a chance to come back to CR this is where I will stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Zen Retreat. It is a beautiful location and the amenities were great. We did have some trouble finding the place. The pin on VRBO took us to pasture about 2 miles away. Once the host verified the location with pictures and the correct pin, we found it. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks.

Incredible experience!!! The house and grounds were gorgeous and it's a fun and beautiful 20 minute drive to Fortuna. Brian & his brother Dennis were awesome. We would highly encourage anyone interested in the Hot Springs to get a Day Pass at Baldi and the self guided sloth tour in Fortuna is definitely worth the 20. We will be back for sure!

Accommodations are very comfortable and clean. The kitchen and bathrooms are very suitable for a medium size family. The location is close to La Fortuna for us to enjoy excursions around the Arenal region. The beautiful deck is a wonderful spot to sit outside and enjoy the scenic view.

Beautiful property, great host who was very responsive. Only opportunity to improve is the directions and branding of the property. Arrived in the night and the house is in a remote area of CR. Ensure your prepared for spotty cell service close to the home. That said it's worth finding, absolutely beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful space with gorgeous surroundings. Location was great for trips into La Fortuna and Rio Celeste and in a quiet location to allow for full relaxation after long days of exploring the area. The house was beyond well equipped with everything you would need. We loved listening to the cows on the neighboring property, all the birds, lizards and other wildlife that was around the property and especially our daily visits from Cali - the friendliest dog ever! They also had a Christmas tree and a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us - which was so welcomed after a very long day of travel. We loved this place and would come back here in a second!

Relaxing stay in beautiful Monterrey

We enjoyed a wonderful vacation staying at this lovely property. Clean, spacious and quiet with everything we needed. The hosts took great care of us, very welcoming and communicative. We enjoyed the hot tub every evening after hiking, rafting, riding, etc. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it.

Great spacious house, all one needs, laundry room, jacuzzi, external fireplace, perfect view of the volcano, friendly dog and reception by caretaker. Negative is no clear directions, no signs to property off the main highway or at the location. The photo shows the gate closed, yet is open when we arrived so we could not connect both. Identified the dog in the pic, was waiting for us outside on the road.

What an amazing house! The views of Arenal are so breathtaking that it’s hard to capture in words. The house is stunning and is fully equipped with high end touches. Fresh flowers were in the kitchen and bathroom making it feel like a luxury hotel. The host took great care to get us situated and is so kind that we felt comfortable from the start. It’s a spectacular property and was truly a place we will never forget.

Volcano view!

This place was amazing. Not too far from La Fortuna, but wow! What a view! Brian was fantastic to deal with. An expat with the best communication you could ask for. I felt like I had a million questions about Costa Rica in general and he was quick to answer them in detail. The property is top notch, the best my family has ever stayed at. If you want a relaxing stay in Costa Rica that isn't too far from the attractions near La Fortuna, I would advise you stay here!

To The "T"

This property was to the "T" exactly what is pictured in every photo, probably better. Spectacularly clean, open, well stocked, beautiful, comfortable and convenient to La Fortuna and the volcano. Brian was superb in communication to the start and even brought up bottles of water in the middle of our stay. If I could get away from work once a month, I would come back to stay every time in heartbeat.

We had a wonderful stay at Dos Guayabas, Brian’s place near La Fortuna. The house was very comfortable and immediately felt like a home away from home. We absolutely loved the views, the peace and quiet, and how thoughtfully Brian set everything up so we could truly relax and settle in. The hot tub was a highlight, and my personal favorite was lying in the hammock with the cool breeze after a day of touring. One of the special touches was being surrounded by nature—we were lucky enough to see toucans flying by, which was unforgettable. There’s also a very friendly dog next door that our kids looked forward to petting every day, which added to the charm of the stay.The location is perfect: about 15 minutes from downtown La Fortuna, but far enough away to enjoy tranquility and nature. There are a few great restaurant options nearby in Monterrey, including two spectacular spots with amazing views—Poró and Jalapas—as well as convenient grocery stores just a five-minute drive away. If you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable place to unwind while still being relatively close to everything, this is an excellent choice.Rooms have AC but not really needed as the place cools down nicely with the breeze. Kitchen is well stocked, including a nice selection of spices and other items that you don't want to purchase for a short stay.

Great house with georgeous views!

We had a fantastic stay! The owner was very easy to get in touch with and responded quickly. Our flight got canceled coming in and we ended up arriving the day after we originally planned and the owner was super patient with all of the changes and even offered us an extra day. The back patio was beatiful with amazing views of the volcano. We made good use of the hammock and enjoyed an afternoon in the hottub. The rooms had great AC and there was a full functioning, up to date kitchen. The large glass doors from the living and dining room opened up the area and allowed a nice breeze to come through. We enjoyed our stay so much and hope to be back to visit again soon.
