Die Villa Hermosa besteht aus 2 privaten Gästehäusern (Villa Hermosa & Villa Toucan), die in den Hügeln von Pastoral / Regenwald etwas außerhalb von Fortuna liegen.

Villa Hermosa ist die erste Pension. Es hat ein geräumiges Schlafzimmer mit California King & Queen Betten.

Villa Toucan ist die zweite Pension. Auch eine Einheit mit einem Schlafzimmer; möbliert mit Queen & Single Betten.

Die Villa Hermosa ist perfekt für Eltern und 1-2 jüngere Kinder. Die Villa Toucan ist perfekt für 2-3 ältere Kinder oder Jugendliche.

Manchmal bevorzugen Eltern den Tukan als privaten Zufluchtsort.

Hier sind weitere Einzelheiten:

-Das Haupthaus besteht aus einer großen Master-Suite mit Kingsize- und Queensize-Betten in Kalifornien und bietet Platz für 4-5 Personen.

Es verfügt über ein Hauptbadezimmer, einen großen Wohnbereich im Freien, ein Esszimmer, eine Bar, eine Küche und einen Grill.

-Es gibt eine separate Villa (nicht mit dem Haupthaus verbunden) namens The Villa Toucan mit Queensize- und Doppelbetten sowie einem kompletten Badezimmer. Tukan bietet Platz für bis zu 3 Personen.

-Das Anwesen ist über 1 Hektar groß und verfügt über einen privaten Pool mit Wasserfall, großen Terrassen und gepflegten Gärten mit Wegen, Obstbäumen und gelegentlichen Besuchen von Tukanen, Faultieren und Leguanen.

Schwimmbad mit Wasserfall:
Kürzlich schrieb ein Gast (Robin aus Maryland) über den Pool (August 2018): "Das schönste Poolwasser, in dem ich je geschwommen bin!"

-Das Hotel verfügt auch über ein Spielzimmer mit einem Billardtisch aus rotem Filz, einer Dartscheibe, einer Minibar und einem dritten Badezimmer.

- Unsere Gäste können morgens im Wohnzimmer im Freien Vögel beobachten (die Vögel essen gerne Bananen-, Ananas- und Kaffeesatzreste). Während der Migrationsperiode 2018 wurden wir von mehr als 60 Vogelarten besucht /

-Das Hotel ist zum Entspannen mit Freunden und der Familie eingerichtet. Viele Gruppen und Familien genießen es, im Pool abzuhängen, im Pool zu schießen, Darts zu werfen, auf dem gepflegten Rasen Hufeisen zu spielen, Vögel und Bäume entlang der Wege zu beobachten oder einfach nur Brettspiele zu spielen, im Wohnbereich im Freien im Internet zu lesen.

-Flitterwochen & Paare genießen die private Erfahrung und persönlichen Service. Der Eigentümer kann (ohne zusätzliche Kosten) alle Ihre Reise- und Touranforderungen anpassen.

-Wir sind eine 7-minütige Fahrt vom weltberühmten Springs Resort & Spa entfernt, mit dem unsere Gäste das Resort bequem über unsere speziellen Tageskarten erreichen können.

Temperatur
- Verschiedene Vorteile unserer Lage (etwas außerhalb von Fortuna) sind die berühmte Brise von Arenal (höher als Fortuna), die ruhige / heitere Schönheit (außerhalb des Trubels) und das perfekte Wetter (70-73 Grad). etwas kühler als Fortuna (wieder dank unserer höheren Erhebung). Auch unser Hügel ist bekannt dafür, die beste Aussicht auf den Vulkan zu haben.

We had a great time at the Villa Hermosa. The property is in excellent condition and very clean. We enjoyed the pool and taught my now 11 year old son the game of pool. The property is conveniently located in regards to the activities in the area. The hosts are super friendly and helpful.

Everything about this place was perfect. My husband and I loved our stay here. Gorgeous pool and gardens, secluded location, well-stocked and clean. The owners are very kind, and regularly offered suggestions and assistance via group chat regarding local restaurants and attractions. We appreciated and accepted the offered assistance to arrange for airport transportation and rental car delivery, and would recommend this for future guests - especially if arriving at night like we did. We loved coming back to the pool and outdoor living area after our days of adventure in La Fortuna. The property is a short drive away from a local grocery store and bakery. The road is newly paved. We would not hesitate to book again should we return to the area in the future.

We had a great stay. The Villa is about 30 mins away from adventure activities in La Fortuna, but provides a relaxing retreat. The pool area is private and tranquil with lovely gardening. The hosts are very friendly and make everything easy.

This was a great place. The grounds are really beautiful - and we even saw an armadillo our first night. Judah was incredibly helpful in helping us figure out and book our activities, and providing all kinds of directions and recommendations. The property is fairly well located - about 20 minutes from the center of La Fortuna and about 35 minutes from the hanging bridges and ziplining parks we visited near the lake. The spaces that were open to the outside (i.e., everything but the bedrooms and bathrooms) were not too hot and did not have any mosquitoes, so the fact that most spaces were open air was nice. As other reviews have noted, there is noise from trucks and motorcycles periodically passing by that you can hear from the master bedroom starting quite early in the morning, so some might want to come prepared with earplugs and a white noise option. Also, the rough roads other reviews mentioned have been fixed - brand new smooth roads from both directions to the property now.

Villa Hermosa was an amazing, authentic Costa Rica experience!The open-air living room and kitchen were really unique and just as enjoyable and comfortable as I expected. The swimming pool had a resort feel, and, along with the game room, provided endless entertainment for our family.To get to the Toucan Villa from the main house, there is a considerable walk through rainforest. The plants and paths are impeccably maintained and stunning, but young children are not likely to feel comfortable staying there alone. Also, some other reviews mention motorcycle and truck noise from the street, which contrasts the otherwise peaceful and secluded feel throughout the property.Overall, our stay at beautiful Villa Hermosa was relaxing, memorable, and a whole lot of fun.

What a gem! This was the perfect place for my wife and my anniversary trip to Costa Rica. It is located about 20 minutes outside of La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano area, which was perfect for us. It was incredibly quiet, peaceful and secluded. So much so that we had to drive to get anywhere, but that was fine with us. The pool was beautiful and relaxing, if a bit chilly from the frequent rain showers during rainy season (we stayed in late July). But it felt great after a day of activities or laying out in the sun. The property is an acre of lush vegetation with a wonderful path meandering through. We say lots of wildlife and birds during our stay.The thing that took our stay from good to great was Judah Maceo’s assistance in ANYTHING we needed. He helped book us several excursions and even our rental car. His recommendations were always spot on, which was incredibly helpful when traveling to a place you’re not familiar with. He and his staff even went above and beyond, decorating the bed with a message and towel sculpture wishing us a happy anniversary! This is truly a slice of paradise and the service is top notch!

Perfect location for a romantic get away.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Hermosa. The grounds were beautiful and the accommodations were excellent. Judah and Michelle were welcoming and very helpful in suggesting and booking activities for us. What a peaceful place to stay away from the fast pace of La Fortuna. The beautiful birds were abundant on their property and so much fun to observe. We also enjoyed the game room, playing darts and pool an d sitting by the beautiful pool.

Short and sweet

This is a very well looked after property with a beautiful pool area. However the location was very noisy as the property borders the only major highway. The beds in the small cabin (which was far from the main building) were quite uncomfortable. Had an issue with the gate closing too quickly on our vehicle as we could not move forward or onto the road quickly enough due to oncoming traffic. We had a booking for 8 nights however left 5 days early as we couldn’t see ourselves staying once our friends left. The owners were good to deal with.

We always appreciate guest feedback - unfortunately, this review contains inaccuracies and falsehoods: 1. This couple arrived very late and in a frenzy, having gotten lost repeatedly, ignorning the directions we sent. 2. Although the reservation was for two people, we accomodated a last minute request to include their friends in the small cabin. The friends were scheduled to leave on day three (which they did). 3. Upon arrival, the wife ignored us (the hosts) and hurriedly unpacked her belongings; the couple ignored most of the checkin tour, including basic, important details about the keys and gate control. 4. The next morning (Day One), well before 8 am, we were awakened to loud banging at our front door. We opened the door to find the wife holding back tears and explaining to us that her good friend was dying and that she needed our immediate assistance to book a return plane ticket on the same flight back as her friends. We welcomed her urgently into our home and using our own technology, spent the morning helping her to secure return tickets (for her and her husband). 5. The following day (Day Two), upon returning from an excellent chocolate & coffee tour that we had arranged, the husband and wife called us over to their car and began berating us about the front gate. In our 9 years as property owners, we have never had a guest issue with the gate; although the guests had been instructed several times during the checkin tour (as well as in writing) about how to use the gate control, they ignored the instruction entirely. The husband then became physically threatening and menacing while repeatedly shouting 'stupid'. Several facts about The Villa Hermosa... The property is located on a small, two-lane country road with volcano views, which will be fully paved by mid-April.

 The small cabin is a 45 second walk past the swimming pool and frog pond (from the main cabin), to a more secluded area of the property that most guests greatly enjoy.

 The guests who stayed both immediately before and after these guests reported how much they loved sleeping in the small cabin (Villa Toucan) and how comfortable the beds were (both brand new, thickly-cushioned mattresses). In conclusion, we can safely say that these were the worst guests we have ever hosted; they were rude and demonstrated poor communication skills and ability to follow basic instructions. We found them demanding, imposing, aggressive, and threatening. Needless to say, we would not host them again in the future.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Incredible property. We enjoyed spending time here, by the pool, exploring the expansive gardens and property, playing some of the many games available, having some meals and relaxing. Very comfortable and inviting. Judah was very responsive to any questions, gave excellent recommendations for activities and made reservations for us. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth it. Highly recommend for semi-adventurous travelers!

A great place for families

Check in was great, the owner walked us through the property and how to use the waterfall/lights. Bedrooms and bathrooms were only four walled parts of property, grateful to have a/c option there and enjoyed having dinner at table with open air space. Birds not too loud for sleeping. Great to have a private pool. Road to location was paved, above the property it turned to dirt so you have the option to drive two different ways to la Fortuna. Property is behind a gate so secure. The host was very responsive and helped us plan our outings with great suggestions. Recommend to any family, older children/teenagers could stay in the toucan room so they have their own space.

Wonderful hosts, gorgeous property

The grounds, pool and ample space were perfect for our party of four. Felt like we were staying in our own private resort. The open air aspect of the main area was perfect for enjoying the tropical rains, the bedding was most comfortable and the bathrooms were surprisingly large - especially the showers. Judah and Michelle were gracious hosts, providing guidance and recommendations for various tours. We hated to leave after our six night stay. There is so much to do in the area, but we also enjoyed just relaxing at the property. Several fabulous restaurants with incredible views are nearby. We hope to return!

perfect Immersion in La Fortuna!

We split half our time in the rain forest and half at the Beach. This Perfect property was exactly what the Doctor ordered when it came to getting into the feel of Costa Rica Rain forest. All of the property was outside except the bedrooms. This I thought was a concern until I realized the Mosquitos are not a factor at all due to the elevation of the Property. Nestled on almost one acre, you really get the feel of having a little piece of Costa Rica to your selves. Even our three kids, (17, 15, and 9) thought it was super unique and added to our trip experiment. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a true Pura Vida Experience.

Perfect tropical vacation home

Most wonderful tropical vacation home in a beautiful garden with pool and hammocks. We enjoyed our breakfasts and BBQ dinners on the open terrace of the house listening to the voices of nature. Wendy really made us feel home. We found everything we needed in her vacation home. The house has an eye-catching design, both inside and outside, and shows such an extent of care and love that is rare to find. Wendy is a happy and very helpful host. We liked the location of the house being fairly close to attractions and grocery stores. Thank you so much Wendy again, and would love to come back.

Perfect mix of beauty and fun!

We had a wonderful time. Villa Hermosa was so charming - it was a secluded oasis with amazingly beautiful grounds. There was so much nature - birds, frogs, etc. And bats at night kept the mosquitos away! We had so much fun playing pool and darts in the game room, playing horseshoes in the backyard and swimming in the pool! Judah helped us plan all of our activities - rafting, zip line, hot springs, hanging bridge hour. He knew the best ones and made all our reservations for us. Every single excursion was perfect! I’d certainly recommend Villa Hermosa to anyone traveling to Costa Rica.

Wonderful stay

We enjoyed a 4 night stay at Judah’s place - our first visit to Costa Rica. Beautiful property! So many birds! My 15 year old loved the pool - and the pool/game room at night! We are so glad we opted to use Mario, their local transportation from the airport to the rental. He met us at the airport, helped us navigate the grocery store on our way to the rental and told us so much about his country. Highly recommend Mario! We then rented a car for our 3 days in the Arenal area. Judah’s location is perhaps 25 minutes outside the La Fortuna downtown area, but that wasn’t a huge concern for us. The property was safe, relaxing and not far from a few great restaurants. We’d stay there again!

Hidden gem away from the crowds

Jonah and Michelle were amazing hosts and the property was even better than the pictures! Everything was so clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. Each morning, we put fruit out and watched the different birds fly in to eat papaya and pineapple. Walking through the property is an experience in itself. They take such immaculate care of the landscaping, it truly is like being at your own private park in the jungle — complete with sculptures and art work. The pool was super clean, so we spent a lot of time just hanging out there and watching the wildlife. Location is a nice distance away from the touristy part of La Fortuna, but close enough so a 30 minute drive can get you to any attraction. We can’t wait to come back!

Home away from home near La Fortuna

Our family of four spent a few days at Villa Hermosa and found it was a great base from which we could explore the Arenal Volcano area. The pool and open kitchen/lounge area were very peaceful and we enjoyed seeing a variety of birds during our stay. The kitchen is equipped well and the nearby grocery stores are great, so we ended up cooking breakfast and dinner during our entire stay. The Springs Resort is quite close and we fully enjoyed our two-day pass there. It was relaxing, uncrowded and turned out being a favorite destination for our boys. Judah and Michelle were of immense help in arranging our car rental and booking all of our tours during our stay in the area. Of note though is that the Villa Toucan is quite a distance from the main house. Our initial plan to have both kids stay in Toucan was ditched when we realized how far away they would be. All in all, we thought this was a great spot and would highly recommend it!

Hi Sara, So glad your stay with us was fun, meaningful & a success. The distance of the toucan to the pool/villa hermosa seems to be quite subjective interestingly. Was just responding to another wonderful guest/family review from Todd of Canada whose son Alex was quite comfortable & content in the toucan (with both beds to himself) while Todd & Margo enjoyed their privacy in the VH (villa hermosa). While walking the manicured grounds yesterday I casually walked from the toucan to the pool/VH & arrived in 45 secs max. Perhaps they took the longer path near the meditation bench? Anyhow, most important is that you enjoyed - our goal as much as yours :-)
