Very private villa just 4 miles away from La Fortuna downtown La Fortuna, Tropical Villa is the perfect place to discover the beautiful sceneries/attractions of Arenal Volcano/La Fortuna area. It features a 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, A/C units in each bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, private pool, high speed WiFi (200 Megabytes - excellent for work and travel), 3 smart TV, hammocks, BBQ area, green areas, beautiful views and gardens. Gated property which make it very private and secure.

On October 2022 we add a third room, another full bathroom, remodeled the pool and add a BBQ area, the idea was making Villa Tropical more comfortable for our guests, we really are in love of this property because it is very private, it is located far enough from downtown to relax but very close to all main attractions in La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area.

The property is close to La Fortuna downtown, very private and quiet. Relax by the pool with a glass of wine or just a beer listening your favorite music, reading a book or just having a nice time with your love ones.

If you want to walk around just 15 minutes walk you will get to La Fortuna river where you can plan a picnic, swim in the river and even try some fishing, you will see plenty of fishes in the water.

The staff was very helpful with booking tours and answering questions for our trip. They were very great with helping me get a flower arrangement for my wife and having it wait6at the property when we arrived. We celebrated our 5th Anniversary hear. The villa is located conveniently to town. Lots of birds and catching the spunds of some howlers in the distance. There are some Giant Toads that will visit you on the back dek at night. They mind their own business tho.

This was a beautiful property. I loved the location and the peacefulness and beauty of the surrounding area. It was very clean, and functional. We LOVED the pool and patio area. The outdoor bathroom and shower was awesome to have. We were very pleased with this home and would definitely consider staying here again. Very short nice drive to downtown La Fortuna.

It was a great location close to town. It was easy to get to restaurants and nice to come home to a quiet place with a beautiful backyard and pool to enjoy. The host helped us arrange activities and gave us restaurant recommendations. I would definitely stay here again.

The property is super clean and exactly like the pics/description. The outdoor pool area is the real gem as we spent most of our time there. WiFi was great. There is also a Sloth sanctuary at the beginning of the road that was an awesome experience (walkable). The property manager was a delight to commute with and we would definitely return when coming back to the area.

This was a very complimentary property in which to enjoy La Fortuna and San Carlos without the bother of too much tourism. Yes it was quite a bit down the road that you turned off of but it rained cats and dogs but we were still able to get through on the road, some pot holes but still nothing like the pot holes in cities! LOL!! Buying groceries and just chilling was the perfect recipe for recharge!! Pura Vida!

A nice time in La Fortuna

The property was very clean and safe. We particularly enjoyed the covered patio/pool area. Howler monkeys woke us up the second day and put on quite a show in the trees across the small road from the house. Loved the ever present hummingbirds in the flowering plants. Lots of different flowering plants. The only things I would recommend for improvements : hot water for the kitchen sink and improved lighting in the kitchen. The property did provide a hot-water kettle which we appreciated for heating water to do dishes. Overall, a very nice property with responsive owner/manager.

This nice house is just a quick drive from downtown La Fortuna so it is close to grocery stores, restaurants and fun things to do. You can even see the Volcano while lounging in the pool. The kitchen and inside living area is kind of small, but beautiful grounds, pool, and sitting areas next to the pool make up for that. The bedrooms were spacious and very cool with air conditioning but had no closets or dresser if you wanted to unpack. We saw Toucans, a grey eagle, a ton of hummingbirds, and numerous other types of birds and few really big toads. :) We also heard howler monkeys. The place was adequately stocked with dishes, washer and dryer, but we did have to buy more toilet paper. The shower in the master bedroom wasn't working properly. We reported this to the property manager but left before anything was done. Overall, the pool and outside sitting areas were fabulous and inside the house was generally functional but not fancy.

2 Star Experience

Our family unfortunately did not enjoy our stay and would not rent this home or from this company in the future. In our opinion the home was not properly fumigated prior to our arrival and was infested with ants. Once it had finally become overwhelming (3rd day) and we complained for a second time they came to fumigate. Once sprayed the ants disappeared. Unfortunately by this time we were already looking for alternative accommodation. The rental company stated that it was due to the rain however on our second day the sun was shining and the fumigation could have been proactively managed. We did not prepare any meals in efforts to keep the ants away however it didn't matter. Being in the rainforest we expected bugs but this was outright overwhelming. The House of Tours booked 2 tours for us. The first one the tour guide didn't show up. They did refund us and offered to rebook us with no charge however by that time we had already booked with another company. The second tour when we paid they undercharged us, they demanded we return to pay for their error within a few hours (we were in the middle of another tour when they notified us of their accounting error). We had to visit their office 3x in one day to mediate these errors. Both we received apologies however this in combination with the ant infestation was not ideal and took up a lot of our precious vacation time. We checked out early and found accommodation elsewhere. This was our experience.

Perfect location for Family stay in La Fortuna

Had an amazing time here. Kids loved the pool. Back patio was amazing. The place is super clean and the most comfy sheets in all the places we stayed in Costa Rica. Outdoor bathroom and outdoor shower was awesome. Can't say anything bad about this place. My family of 6 loved it.

Great house only 10 mins from downtown!

We really enjoyed our stay in Villa Tropical! It was clean, check in process was easy with Mario meeting us at the property and showing us around the house. The backyard was wonderful and relaxing with the pool and lounge chairs. Beds were comfortable, we felt safe and saw lots of wild life in the yard. Frogs, birds, geckos, monkeys high up in the trees and a toucan! Was conveniently only 10 mins into town! Would definitely recommend.

This house was my favorite stay in Costa Rica! It was so cozy and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The hosts were great to work with, it was clean, and had everything we needed like towels and wash clothes, soap, AC in every room was so nice for each person to decide how they wanted to sleep. My favorite part of this house was the pool and yard! It is 100% worth its stay! I would go there just to hang out in the yard. The lighting and secure fencing in the yard made us feel safe too! Would definitely come back! And send friends here.

Our stay at this home was excellent. The host was very accommodating and the house and property were clean and well kept. The TV in the living area didn’t work which was a negative and none of the bathrooms on property had water that was very hot. Warm enough to shower but not hot by normal standards. Overall this property was great and I would certainly visit again!

Beautiful Home!

Can't say enough good things about this property. It was so nice to have separate rooms and beds for our family of five, and a pool to let the kids play in after long days of adventure. Extra clean, and the kitchen had all of the implements that we needed to make daily meals. Most impressively, the hosts were extremely responsive and had the best discounts in town for any possible activity that you could desire. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

First time visit to Costa Rica

We came to see the wildlife and to adventure on a few tours of Arenal; hiked through the jungle and over the hanging bridges, also hiked to a waterfall and went on an eco tour looking for sloths. Carlos from House of Tours was very helpful with guiding us to the property and helping us get tours set up and suggesting places to eat. We felt very safe at this location as it had a wall around the property, a gate that locked and an electric fence on top of the wall. It was very peaceful and quiet, and the outdoor shower was a great feature.Our only complaint would be that there were no closets or any place to hang clothing and selves and drawer space was also very limit.

Perfect home for exploring La Fortuna

We stayed here for two nights/three days. The home was clean and modern, set on the outskirts of the town of La Fortuna. It's down a gravel road and behind walls and a security gate that surround the property. The home was very nice, but the highlight was the very private outdoor area within the perimeter walls. The landscaping is beautiful, and there's a fantastic pool and covered patio. We didn't swim that much because the weather was cool and rainy, but the covered outdoor patio was a wonderful place to hang out, make dinner on the grill, and play card games, deep into the night. Carlos and Mario were friendly and communicative, and extremely helpful with advice about outings. They manage their properties extremely well.
