Severe Privacy Concerns and Subpar Property ConditionsWe had a very disappointing experience with this host and property. My goal with this review is twofold: to encourage the host to modernize their invasive processes, and to warn future travelers about the security risks and property conditions we encountered.1. Critical Data Security Risks As an IT professional, I was alarmed by this host's demand for personal data outside the VRBO platform. They required a large additional deposit and sensitive documents—including photos of passports and driver's licenses—to be uploaded to an obscure third-party site. They also demanded the names and ages of all guests. Sending this level of PII (Personally Identifiable Information) via email and unverified third-party vendors is a massive red flag. When I expressed my concerns, the host was dismissive. I only stayed because the cancellation policy would have resulted in a total loss of funds.2. Property Condition & Privacy The property does not live up to the photos. For the "hoops" you have to jump through, the quality is simply not there.* Privacy Issues: The curtains in the master bedroom are damaged and do not close properly. Since the neighbor’s windows are directly adjacent, we had zero privacy and had to "sneak around" while dressing.* Cleanliness: The walls are marked with dirt, and the rugs are heavily stained and feel old.
