Dieses wunderschöne Vintage Cottage wurde 1913 erbaut. Früher war es ein Rastplatz für Reisende, die mit Pferd und Buggy unterwegs waren. Es ist wirklich einzigartig und wir sind stolz zu sagen, dass wir es wieder für Reisende geöffnet haben, die sagen, es sei der beste Rastplatz in der Gegend. Es hat alle Annehmlichkeiten wie ein Schlafzimmer mit einem Queen-Size-Bett für zwei Personen bequem. Es hat auch WiFi, Kabel-TV, Samsung Blue Ray DVD-Player, Küche, Waschmaschine / Trockner, elektrischer Kamin, Terrasse, Grill und eine private Garage. Darüber hinaus gibt es zwei Fahrräder (für Sie / Ihn), Boogie-Boards, Liegestühle, Sonnenschirm, Strandkarren, Strandtasche und zwei Strandtücher für Ihre Bequemlichkeit. We had the most amazing time!! Gorgeous and Cozy!! Location is great!! Close to everything . The condo was perfect, over the top. We didnt need anything, the special touches were so appreciated! Great place!!

My Fiancé and I had a great stay at Sonia's place! It's a great location, 2 blocks from the beach and same to downtown. The cottage is cozy, clean and a perfect spot to everything around. Highly recommend and will be back!

Living at the Beach

This is our hands down favorite vacation rental. The property is adorably decorated and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. There is room to cook and entertain with friends, short walk to the beach, easy walk to restaurants, the pier, shopping, and groceries. We feel like residents in the community. Darwin and Sonia are fantastic and truly lovely people.

Wonderful Manhattan Beach Getaway

We are frequent tenants of VRBO properties and this one is exceptional. It's a home away from home and absolutely perfect for a beach loving couple. My husband lived in MB for 18 years and this was a great way to reconnect with our friends. Can walk everywhere, bike the strand, farmers market on Tuesday, and great bars/restaurants. nearby. Sonia and Darwin are wonderful hosts, even allowing us to park the Tundra in their open spot. It felt like home and we look forward to future stays.

We felt welcome upon entering the cottage.

We were so happy that the cottage met all our expectations that were clearly described in the property description. The cottage was clean and provided all the amenities and more. Sonia and Darwin made us feel welcome and comfortable. The beach was only a couple of blocks away and was a very easy walk. We used the provided bicycles each morning for wonderful rides along The Strand. The restaurants and shopping of Manhattan Beach were within walking distance also. The deck with the grill worked out perfectly for a couple of dinners and was a great place to relax. The garage made parking no problem. We have been to Manhattan Beach many times---and this will definitely be our first choice to stay when we go again.

A sweet gem in the heart of Manhattan Beach

We have just spent 2 fabulous weeks in Manhattan Beach at the West Winds cottage and couldn't be happier with not only the quality of the property, but also the attentiveness of the proprietor. Sonia is available 24/7, and is ready and willing to make your stay a comfortable and memorable one ! I know this is labeled as a "Romantic" cottage (and it most certainly is), but I wanted to share that I was there with my 12 year old and this was the perfect accommodation. He was attending a computer camp in the area, and never fail.... everyday after camp we walked 2 minutes to the beach where he could enjoy the fabulous boogie boards supplied by owners for hours on end. We also enjoyed the beach cruisers and comfortable lounge chairs. The cottage is as perfect as the pictures represent, and the location could not be any better. We are looking forward to a return trip !!!

Great Location - Cozy Convenience

Spent a few days in this comfy, little cottage. So convenient to the best restaurants in the area that I decided to abandon the idea of cooking or grilling… ever. It was appointed with anything you'd ever need. I felt at home here. Great job. The owners were terrific people… from the booking process to the security refund it could not have been easier. Most important to note is their kindness. I walked in for the first time and was greeted with a birthday gift. Who does that? I'm touched. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, Sonia. Would definitely stay here again and look forward to spending time on the new deck that they plan to construct in the near future. Look forward to coming back soon. Warm Regards…

Great location, very clean and superbly furnished

Location is just a 5-minute walk to the beach and central MB. The cottage is beautifully decorated, extremely well furnished and the cleanliness is simply immaculate. The bathroom and kitchen are very small, but the bedroom is comfortable, and the living room is spacious. Lots of windows that open and two ceiling fans circulated the nice ocean breeze, keeping things pleasantly cool despite 85 degree days. We especially liked the wide assortment of beach accessories (chairs, beach blanket, boogie boards, surfboard, beach bags, beach toys, cooler, 2 high quality cruiser bikes and even beach tar removal, which we needed). The bikes are terrific. The owners provided many nice extra touches like a well-stocked Kuerig, paper plates & cups for the beach, bottled water, bag of ice and a welcome bottle of wine. Only suggestion I could make is perhaps provide 4-6 beach chairs instead of two, as we had guests visit. We have rented with VRBO many times all over the world, and most all could take a lesson from the owners of this property. Very impressive. We plan to be back.

Our perfect holiday in manhattan beach

We spend very relaxing 17 days in Westwind Cottage in this September/ October. We arrived after 12 hours flight from Germany and Sonia and her daughter have welcomed uns very warmly. From the first moment we felt like home. And everything you need is nearly by. The Beach, supermarket Vons, Bar's, Restaurants... This wonderful cottage is perfectly equippet - really everything is available! Two beachcruisers, surfboards, a spacious garage, washing machine, dryer... We have never rent a house with such an equipment like this! Beachtowels, a bag for going to the beach, cosmetic things like shaver, foam... Everything. And: It is perfectly clean and cared for. Sewing set, blender for shakes / smoothies, two kind of coffeemachine and the devices are very easy to handle - for us people from germany very important, because the things here work different :) We can only recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Manhattan Beach, to rent this lovely & cozy Cottage!!! Host Sonia & her family is nearly 24h available and want to make your vacation perfect! We'll be back :) Many greetings from cold germany to sunny california, Monja & Christoph (Sorry if my english / Grammatik is not so perfect, I've tried my best) 😃

Magical cottage exactly as advertised and much more.

We stayed two months and enjoyed every second. Very quiet little cottage above your own private garage with your own washer and dryer and everything you would need for the beach boogie boards, chairs, plus a cart to carry them. Also had fun using retro bicycles . The cottage itself was immaculate and had everything you could possibly want or need. The hosts could not have been nicer or more accomodating .

Best time and location

Really nice place with so many thoughtful details

My wife and I came to LA to visit our son, a college student. The location was perfect - close enough to him yet also walking distance to Manhattan Beach and boardwalk so we could walk/run/bike ride every day as well as visit with him when he was available. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance as well and a Von's grocery store also. Did have a garage so we were able to park our rental at no extra charge and without hassle of seeking street parking. The unit had every amenity we needed: wonderfully comfortable bedroom. bathroom and living areas, well-equipped kitchen that even included chocolates and a bottle of wine. Thoughtful night-light in bathroom and great lighting all throughout, nice Grohe hand-held showerhead, excellent storage space (that bedroom closet is so functional), additional amenities like yoga mats, beach towels, first aid kit, toiletries, very nice bikes (and our hosts quickly provided bike locks when we requested them), new washer and dryer. Also has an outdoor shower to wash off the beach sand and BBQ grill on the deck - we didn't use those this time but maybe next time! A true home away from home. And the interior decorating is a coastal-themed soothing feel. Great place to relax, enjoy our visits with our son and our time on the beach. Thank you Sonia & Darwin for a great place to stay.

Magical cottage

Sonia and Darwin have outdone themselves with this adorable gem of a cottage. They could not have been more hospitable and their property could not be more perfect and cozy for an east coast gal who’s always dreamt of making the move and becoming a west coast/Manhattan Beach inhabitant. Charming Beach Cottage

We had a lovely week at this charming beach cottage. The cottage itself has so much character from being so old and the beachy decor makes it fresh and comfortable. Everything was very clean, the bed was super comfortable and it is well stocked with bathroom and kitchen items. The location can't be beat - so close to the beach and lots of great restaurants and shops within short walking distance. Sonya and Darwin were great hosts - friendly and available for any questions we had. I highly recommend this property!

Pandemic Tragedy Made Easier

The place was wonderful but we had to leave early as California was sheltering in place on the 19th because of the pandemic. Everything around us shut down days before. The owner has graciously permitted us to extend next year's stay by the two weeks we lost this year. I absolutely can not say enough about how wonderful Sonia is.

Another amazing stay at the cottage

This was my second time staying at the cottage and even more memorable and amazing than the first. I hesitate to tell the world how wonderful this place is because I don't want to share. The bed is so comfy, the location is out of this world, and all the little details that are in the property are so thoughtful and caring. Sonia is such an amazing host. You can't want for anything. After quite a bit of searching for a place in the area surrounding Santa Monica /LA/ Manhattan Beach, I was happy to come across this little gem of a place! We use VRBO a lot and are very particular. Sonia and Darwin have thought of absolutely every little detail to make a stay in this accommodation comfortable and fulfilled. The unit is immaculate! The kitchen has everything you’ll need and more, the bathroom as well, and the bed and bedding is fabulous. Hello! My name is Sonia. My husband Darwin and I have been married for 38 wonderful years. We have 4 beautiful grown children who grew up in the South Bay, and 2 grandchildren.
My husband Darwin Pagett was raised in this adorable cottage in his elementary years then moved to Hawaii until he graduated High School. He moved back to Manhattan Beach to start his own business which is now Surfline Plumbing.
I’ve had the privilege of being a stay at home Mom and homeschooled our children. Once they were grown and moved out I decided to open the cottage up as a vacation rental which is my full-time job these days. I am very particular about the cleanliness so I clean it myself. When it's not being rented, Darwin and I stay there. We enjoy riding our bikes 4-5 days a week, sunbathing and surfing! We are very happy to share this vacation rental with others and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do and that it feels like home away from home for you.

Westwinds Cottage is a place full of special memories. It is a 112 year old and originally a carriage house for passing travelers who wished to rest themselves and their horses on their journey.
Originally owned by Darwin's Aunt, Anne Kennedy, this property has been passed down to the Pagett family. Now we enjoy the same leisure and decided to share our experience with others. Also, it offers a location which is ideal to those seeking leisure time. Not only is it a short and pleasant walk to the seashore (0.3 miles to the pier) it also offers access to many local restaurants that myself and my family have frequented for all of our lives. We chose not to sell this property because it holds a very dear place in our hearts and I know it will have the same affect on all who choose to vacation there.
We always appreciate and listen to our guests input...So this is why we have added the deck built and designed by my husband and I.
