Welcome to our home in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. Your private space is the entire top floor, where you’ll have your own bedroom, bathroom, and a sunny terrace — the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Amsterdam.

While your floor is private, the kitchen, living room, and dining area are shared with us and other residents. You are very welcome to use these spaces to cook meals, enjoy a coffee, or unwind in good company.

The house is just a five-minute walk from a shopping center with groceries and all the essentials. Getting into the city is easy: the bus stop is right across the street, taking you to the center in about 20 minutes, or you can cycle there in around 15 minutes. Amsterdam Noord and the vibrant NDSM wharf, with its restaurants and bars, are also just a short walk away.

I’m always happy to share local tips and recommendations, and I look forward to welcoming you into our home.

Everything was perfect. Malachi was a wonderful host and had thought of everything. He was ready to help us with anything. The top floor of the property was entirely reserved for guests and was sufficient. We were very satisfied and will definitely choose it as our second home for our next trip!

Max was an awesome host! He let us check in early which was much appreciated and was a great help with local transportation. Room and bathroom were immaculate, comfortable. They are located in a great place with easy access to the city however due to lots of construction and bus lines being shut down we had to navigate a different way but it all worked out. Great stay.

A great stay in Amsterdam

Very nice stay in Amsterdam. Chared house with very private bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable beds. Our host was welcoming and kind. From the house, it was easy to get in town with the bus stop beeing in front of the house. Grocery store close by. Thank you again for everything !

Wonderful home away from home

Very nice and sweet place with great location to a bus stop that made transportation a breeze. Has a wonderful balcony that was amazing to watch the sun set. And how friendly our homeowner is! Would absolutely stay here again

The best in Amsterdam

As soon as we arrived, Malachi welcomed us warmly explaining every detail of the house and the city, also suggesting things to do during the day. The stay was very pleasant and Malachi was very discreet. The terrace has a beautiful view and we had a great time.

The best stay just outside of Amsterdam!

We had the best stay at Malachi’s home just outside of Amsterdam! Malachi was incredibly friendly and polite, and recommended many places in Amsterdam for us to visit. The neighborhood was very safe and pleasant to stay in, and easy to commute to Amsterdam from. The home itself was clean and comfortable, and Monica the cat was a great bonus! I highly recommend staying with Malachi, and would 100% stay here again.

First visit to Netherlands made easy!

The location in Noord is excellent. The bus stop across the street is super convenient. Malachi and his brother are welcoming and accommodating. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed their company and the privacy of the top floor with balcony. Quiet neighborhood and clean, comfortable bedroom with private bathroom. Highly recommend for location/quick trip to Centraal and ease!!

Excellent stay and friendly host!

From the outset, Malachi (host) was helpful, attentive and communicated well with us before our stay. He provided us with helpful tips on how to access central Amsterdam and even left flyers in our room with useful tourist information and activities. The property was very clean, comfortable, and the kitchen facilities were fantastic. While the property isn’t located in Amsterdam, it is only a short 10 minute journey to get there. 10/10 stay - would recommend!!

Very nice and welcoming accomodation

We spent a great week at Malachi's home as a couple. Malachi is very welcoming and friendly host and he directly made us feel comfortable. The room is spacious, and the whole floor (bedroom + bathroom + rooftop terrace) is for the guests so we can have real intimacy. The surroundings are quiet and you can reach Centraal Station in less than 30 min with public transport. Quentin & Juliette

Host was super friendly as was his brother who was handling the hosting on site. He was easy-going and willing to help in any way The twin beds put together were comfortable and duvets were outstanding. We were challenged by the washer/dryer but appreciated being able to use them and got help, and challenged in the kitchen with finding things, finding room in the fridge, and figuring out the appliances. Once we figured out the transit system, it was easy to use with a bus-stop literally a couple of minutes away. It took us about 45 minutes to get, door to door, to and from the major museums. It wasn't practical to come back to make dinner for ourselves and then go out again.All in all, it was a good experience.

Great hosts!

The property was easy to get to and from by bus. The host is very friendly and courteous. He was usually at the house so easy to come and go. He did give us a key. The steps to the room are steep and narrow which seems normal for the area but something Americans aren't used to. The bed was comfortable. The room had it's own bathroom. We would stay there again.

Nice space, great hosts

Looking for an affordable place to stay took out out of the Centrum. I was a little nervous about what looked to be distant on paper, but it was very easy to get around between a nearby bus stop which provided easy access to the metro. Malachi was great, very helpful. The unit itself was efficient and had very comfortable mattresses. Having our own bathroom was a plus. We also had access to the kitchen, but really didn't use anything but the refrigerator. All in all, we had a great and satisfying stay.

Marijuana Smelling Frat House

Host was extremely friendly, and had excellent communication with us all throughout the booking process. He even provided helpful public transportation information (bus stop directly in front of property). Room was basic (no TV, refrigerator etc) but clean. Unattached bathroom was small, and fairly clean.However, this is NOT a 5-star property. The 'shared living areas' are cluttered and dirty (unlike posting photos) and the entire property smelled like marijuana. The place is like a frat house, yet would be perfect for someone who smokes pot, is a gamer, and doesn't mind living in a dirty apartment. We left after just one night (tried to leave earlier) and stayed in a hotel in the city. Having traveled all over the world, this was by far, the absolute worst property we have ever stayed in. Definitely would NOT recommend this property.*Note: Although not required, the host did provide us with a refund, after working with VRBO customer service.

Dear Gary, - There is no smoking allowed in the house and that includes marijuana. It is out of my control if someone smokes on the street and the smell drifts up through a window. - When you complained about this the next morning, I nevertheless agreed to completely refund you, including the night you had already spent in the house. - I asked you if anything else was wrong and you pointed out that my brother had left a bag on the kitchen table. You did not mention anything to me about cleanliness and I can say that no other guests who have stayed with me ever made any complaints in this regard. - I was sorry to read your comments in terms of there being no TV or fridge in the room. However, the rental description does not state that such items are included in the room. - Your view that the house is like a frat house also surprised me as we are only two people (my brother and I) living in the house. Overall, it was very disappointing for me to read your comments. I can only say many wonderful guests have been very happy staying with me, including guests who have returned for a second time.

Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und konnten uns mit Fragen immer an den Gastgeber wenden. Zimmer und Bad waren sauber. Die Betten sind komfortabel und bequem.Der Einstieg in die Dusche ist sehr eng, der Dusch-Ablauf müsste dringend gereinigt werden, weil das Wasser kaum noch abfließt.Die Küche im Gemeinschaftsraum im Erdgeschoss haben wir nicht genutzt, können deshalb nichts zur Ausstattung sagen. Ich hätte gern vor der Buchung gewusst, dass man sich das Haus mit drei oder mehr Personen teilt. Das wird aus der Beschreibung nicht deutlich.
