Maine wird als "Vacationland" - Mt. Desert Island, der Heimat von Bar Harbor und Acadia National Park, ist ein unglaublich schöner Ort, wo Leute kommen um sich zu entspannen, zu spielen und zu schätzen wissen alle, dass die Natur zu bieten hat. 'Spruce Lodge at Hadley Point' ist so konzipiert, dass Sie und Ihre Familie in einer wundervollen und komfortablen Umgebung zu bleiben, während Sie erkunden und erleben Sie die ganze Schönheit, die Sie umgibt! Unsere charmante 3-Level-Haus verfügt über einen hellen, offenen Grundriss, wo das Wohnzimmer, Essbereich und Küche teilen sich einen großen Raum auf der Hauptebene. Auf dem Flur ist ein schönes Schlafzimmer, Bad und Waschküche. Im Obergeschoss befindet sich eine private Galerie mit einem Balkon und großen separates Schlafzimmer. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich die Familienzimmer mit Spieltisch, Getränkekühlschrank und ein wirklich netter Schlafzimmer, die wir 'The Rose Room' und ein weiteres geräumiges Vollbad nennen. Spruce green (natürlich) ist unser Thema Farbe und es 'Meilen' natürlicher Kiefer, Spass Wallpapers & sauber bemalten Wänden Akzente! Die Möbel wurden Geschirr, Kunst & collectibles mit der Maine Woods im Verstand gewählt!

Aktivitäten :: Der Strand von Hadley Punkt, der nur einen Block entfernt ist ein öffentlicher Bereich, in dem man ein Boot zu starten, haben ein Picknick, ein Sonnenbad nehmen, überspringen Felsen und beobachten für Dichtungen und andere Wildtiere. Dies ist ein beliebter Ort für die Kajak-Verleih-Unternehmen zu starten und zu beenden ihre Tagesausflüge-es macht Spaß zu beobachten, sie kommen und Go- möchten Sie vielleicht, um sie zu betreten! Sie können auf eigene Faust zu schwimmen, Boot, wandern und Fahrrad fahren oder gehen Sie auf eine Walbeobachtungstour oder Sunset Cruise auf Franzosen Bay. Es gibt fantastische Restaurants, gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und sogar Mini-Golfplätze in der Nähe. Es ist eine wunderbare "Art Deco" Kino namens "The Criterion 'in der Innenstadt von Bar Harbor und zwei Abenden in der Woche entfernt gibt es Band Konzerte auf dem Dorfplatz. Mehrere Kunstausstellungen sind im Sommer und Kreuzfahrtschiffe in den Hafen kommen wöchentlich statt! Mt. Desert Island ist wirklich ein unvergesslicher Ort für jeden etwas!

We had a wonderful trip to Bar Harbor and this cottage was in the perfect location. Quiet mornings and a nice walk to Hadley Point. The town of Bay Harbor was a short drive where we enjoyed shopping and eating. We drove to Southwest Harbor to catch a lobster boat and caught, learned about and ate lobster. Lorie was an exceptional host. She contacted us to ensure we had everything we needed and even brought Vitamin C, tea and honey when one of us came down with a cold. She is thoughtful in every way.The house was exactly as described and looked. Thanks Lorie!

It all went well and as expected for the price. Kitchen had the basics. Twilight was particularly lovely as the deck has views to the west. All things MDI were about a 20 minute drive so great for us. Except for one night the neighborhood was quiet.

Absolutely Perfect

This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Lorie was excellent communicating with us and very helpful. We played board games on the outside deck and relaxed in the spacious house after exploring Acadia. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was very clean , and we enjoyed the Maine decorations. Excellent, peaceful and quiet woodsy location very near to Hadley Point beach for sunsets, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park. The home was very well appointed and the Hosts thought of everything. You could see a bit of the water from the home. We enjoyed our stay.

Minnesotans invade Maine

The location and setting of Spruce Lodge are ideal, outside of but close to Bar Harbor and nestled in the woods just up the street from Hadley Point Beach.Our group consisted of 3 couples and the house was well equipped for this. We had to get creative with additional fans to cool off at night when it was hot and humid, but it worked out (there is one AC unit in the great room, not central air). The kitchen was well appointed and we made use of the outdoor gas grill as well. Of course, when there's so many great lobster places and we were out most of the day, we didn't use it to its potential. Some bath towels could use a deep clean or replacement due to mustiness, I understand that thorough drying is tough here at times. We also loved the huge deck area with a nice table for 6 with an umbrella, and Maine mosquitos are not nearly as bad as Minnesota biters in the evenings. I will put in a plug for Acadia Sea Kayaking Adventures which takes off from Hadley Point Beach, an easy walk down the street, so convenient and with a great guide. We did the sunset tour which was fabulous. Thanks to VRBO owner Lorie who was a great communicator and made us feel welcomed to Maine and Acadia. The extra info about the park and surroundings was helpful. Another plus for the house location is the Island Exporer shuttle (for Acadia National Park) has a pick up 0.2 miles from the house, so you don't have to take a car to ANP (but still allow lots of time for the shuttle service on busy days).

We just stayed at Spruce Lodge at Hadley Point. This home is awesome! Lorie is so easy to work with from beginning to end. The home is fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. Spruce Lodge is definitely a home away from home. This was the cleanest, well stocked place we have ever stayed. Lorie, our host, was super nice and accommodating. This was our first trip to Maine. Lorie gave us tips, places to eat, and things to do before we left home for our trip. Bar Harbor is a beautiful place and Spruce Lodge did not disappoint!!! Highly recommend!! Perfect Home Base Cottage for exploring Acadia National Park!

Spruce Lodge was the perfect comfortable cottage to serve as a jumping off point for our many adventures across Mount Desert Island, Acadia, and Schoodic Peninsula for a week. My 13 yo and 10 yo loved having their own bedrooms. My husband and I liked having a kitchen to prepare breakfasts, some dinners, and picnic lunches for our hikes. The owner has provided so many thoughtful supplies, extra bath towels and beach towels, and many kitchen accessories, dishes, storage containers, and a grill. The property was very clean and comfortable for our stay. We enjoyed never having very far to drive to any destination, and also enjoyed not being in the thick of downtown Bar Harbor, but close enough when we wanted to go there.

Comforts of home

Spruce Lodge is so well equipped, we lacked for nothing. We had easy access to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, shops and restaurants. Our host was very attentive and provided abundant information about the area. The house was immaculate and stocked with spices, staples, paper goods, and plasticware in addition to pots, pans and dishware. We loved staying here! Kayaks, e-bikes on carriage trails, windjammer cruises, and swimming are all close by.

Fabulous home!

Spruce lodge was in the perfect location for all things Bar Harbor and Acadia. Easy drives to park entrances. Short trip to Bar Harbor. Easy to get back to Trenton area as well. House was spotless and hosts was easy to contact and quick to respond/assist. House was fully stocked with any and everything we needed. We enjoyed meals on the deck and the kids were obsessed with Hadley point and all the mussels. 5 stars. 10/10!

I was born in Bar Harbor and my entire family lives or works only 5 minutes from our rental homes. My husband was born in Wisconsin and he fell in love with MDI the first time I took him there in 1996. He knew even before I did that we MUST have our own property there so that we would always have an excuse to go north whenever we could!
Mt. Desert Island is such a beautiful place - we both are so thankful that we can experience it many times a year and I must say that we are struck by the beauty and the solitude every time we go 'home.'

We hope that you truly have a wonderful time whether it is your first experience or you have been visiting for 20 years.

My Dad's motto is...'If you've never been to Maine you should go and if you have been to Maine...you'll be back!" Of course he is pretty bias on the subject - having lived in Bar Harbor all his life! I wish everyone could get one of his Island tours-they are awesome to say the least!

He started working as a chauffeur at age 15 and he can tell some stories. He and my Mom owned several restaurants and motels and even developed the largest campground on the Island, Bar Harbor Campground which my youngest brother now manages.
Seems like our family has been in the hospitality trade forever and...with all that experience we have certainly learned how to take good care of our guests!
