This house was exactly what we wanted. Right in the middle of the town, right next door to an awesome place for coffee and breakfast. Steps away from the town's free shuttle that takes you everywhere. What a nice welcome we had from Ann, too! Beautiful welcome basket with goodies. Ann was super responsive and a great host. The house itself was also fantastic. Two stories, three bedrooms, beautiful master bath that looks brand new. Really well kept. Would come right back next time we're at BHB.

Prime location in the middle of downtown where all the shops & restaurants are located and Cafe This Way is next door for great, easy breakfast! Parking is easy. Host easily accessible. Everything you need is provided. I would definitely stay here again!

Our stay was oustanding. Incredibly easy and welcoming check in, impressively clean and well-stocked adorable home, and an unbelievable location! We loved being in the heart of everything - we felt like we were right in the action but also tucked into our little greenspace off the main street as well. It was so perfect being right next door to Cafe This Way (which is DELICIOUS and a locals' favorite!), and across the green from my favorite coffee shop on the island (shout out to Acadia Perk!). The parking spaces were fantastic, and we had plenty of room to spread out in the house. And it was quite convenient to have laundry onsite, especially with a 6-year old in tow. We will definitely be returning!

Amazing stay and location

This was our second time staying at the Hideaway and we loved it just as much as our first stay in 2018. The location is unbeatable and the three rooms, one with two beds is perfect for families.

Ann is an amazing host, and her properties are lovely. From the welcome baskets to her kind and caring demeanor, she has helped make multiple of our stays nothing short of amazing. Though we did not need anything more, she is very attentive and quick to respond. We’ll definitely be looking to book with her from now on during future visits.

Great downtown location. Clean and comfortable. Be patient with the parking and it works out wonderfully. Ann is very good to work with. This is now our third time staying at one of her places. Will book again with her. We highly recommend staying here.

Great location and comfortable home

My family of 4 had an amazing week in the house. So central for walking around town and getting out to Acadia for hikes. We loved the ability to disconnect while away, it was an amazing house for family time!

Perfect Hideaway

Staying in the heart of town with easy access to Acadia, via the Island Explorer or bike. Perfect hideaway to return & relax after a day out in the park, then walk in town for dinner or evening treat.

Justcas good as first stay 2 years ago!

Anne is very responsive with any inquiries during your stay. Can't beat the location. You won't need your car unless driving to Acadia or other parts of the Island. You can walk to EVERYTHING in Bar Harbor. Cant wait till our next trip back to the Hideaway.
Best deal in town. Hannaford grocery store down the street. $8.99 lb lobsters they will steam for you. Range from 1.25 - 2.75 lbs. And make your own lobster rolls, nachos, etc.
Don't miss hiking the Beehive, of your not bothered with heights.
Also don't miss Cadillac Mountain, any time of day.

Wonderful stay at The Hideaway!

The Hideaway was the perfect Bar Harbor stay. Walkable to the entire downtown area, yet private. The home is bright, beautiful and has the best equipped kitchen of any VRBO I have stayed in. Ann is a wonderful host- responsive and thoughtful- including a loveliest welcome basket.

Hidden gem in downtown Bar Harbor minutes from the all the shops and restaurants and the Island Explorer. The house was extremely clean with easy check-in and check-out. The bowl of fruit, cheese and wine the host left for us was a much appreciated touch. This was our second time renting this property and hopefully won't be our last.

Great location, responsive and helpful host. Very enjoyable stay.

The unit we stayed in (3) was great. It is located in the heart of Bar Harbor making all of the town center easily walkable. The location also has private parking which is great. The unit is comfortable and had everything we needed. The host is really nice, accessible and helpful.

Village Hideaway is a gem 💎

Ann is a great host and her place is neat and has everything you need for a great stay. Fabulous location by the Village Green makes taking frequent walks around town and to the shore path very convenient. We will be back!
