We are delighted to introduce this plantation studio at the Kapa'a Sands! A plantation-type studio with 464 sq. ft. (364 lot area plus 100 sq.ft. lanai). As you browse through the pictures of this enchanting oceanfront property, we hope you will perceive, and feel as we do, that Kapa'a Sands is indeed a very unique and special place to stay when you visit the Garden Isle. The lush tropical ambiance and tranquil setting of this delightful ground-floor studio are simply unsurpassed anywhere on Kauai. The ocean view from inside and on your lanai is simply magnificent. Having a full kitchen including a dishwasher is unique in itself in any ocean view studio on Kaua'i and is indeed ideal for longer stays. Nestled in a private cove near Kapa'a town with its own beach, K Sands, as it is known by its many repeat guests, is said to have both a mystical and magical charm. At night, you will be lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf as the trade winds often softly blow in and on many mornings, the sun, like a giant orange beach ball, rises up on the horizon out of a thousand miles of open ocean.

Kapaa Sands beach in front is swimmable but always use caution at any beach current waves are visible. For shops and restaurants, there's a lot around that area that's just a walking distance like a 10-minute walk from the property. There is Kintaro Japanese right in the front of that hotel near the highway and there is Kinipopo Shopping Village that has food places. If you walk along the wall path there will also be a Lava Lava restaurant and the Coconut Marketplace.
Important: This is a privately owned studio that rents for less if you are looking to save money. The unit is cleaned prior to your arrival and stocked with start-up supplies. The studio is cleaned again upon check-out time. If you need new supplies, linens, towels, bed remade and additional spruce up clean, we do offer this additional service for a $70 fee per scheduled day. Please ask if you are interested in this service.

Beautiful ocean view to the east! The grounds were very pretty. Location was convenient. The bed was very hard- would highly recommend upgrading the bed from Murphy bed. The laundry room hours were very limited/disappointing; ended up going to the laundromat. Since stayed in winter the temperature inside was just fine. Was great to have some beach gear available.

The location is absolutely perfect. Right on the ocean with a great view and access to places to dine and shop. The room itself is a bit tired. The sliding glass door is very difficult to open and close, the screen door fell off the rollers three times, and one of the jalousie windows wouldn't close. The room does have some nice extras like beach chairs, boogie board, snorkel stuff, beach towels and umbrellas. The complex has a nice pool and BBQ area, which we used. The kitchen has pans, dishes, glasses, etc, but didn't even have salt and pepper or sugar. Usually those basics are in every vrbo kitchen. Even though the unit has a dishwasher, I had to request that they bring tablets for it.The grounds are beautiful and the chickens friendly. We loved our stay there. Be advised there is no A/C or heat, but when we were there it didn't matter.

Regarding the kitchen, we are clear in our welcome letter sent prior to check-in, about what we stock the units with. We don’t stock items like salt, sugar, or other consumables, as they don’t hold up well in the humid climate and can attract pests. We appreciate your understanding on that.

First Trip To Hawaii Was Unforgettable
The property is stunning and you can walk out to a private beach. The photos don’t do it justice. The property manager was very communicative and may the stay enjoyable.
Only issues during our stay were the ceiling fan appeared to be not working 100% and spun very slow so the fact that there is no AC in the unit made it at times very stuffy in the room even with all the windows open there was no circulation.
Also in the kitchen there were a few small nat sized bugs on the counter throughout our stay but didn’t bother us at all.
We would definitely stay here again but a window AC unit would’ve made the stay that much better.
Also getting woken up around 5:22am every morning to the rooster was a bummer but merely encouraged us to get up and enjoy the fact we were in Kauai! :)

Mahalo nui for your feedback! We spray regularly for bugs, this is the tropics! We will check to see if a maintenance spray is due. Mahalo for letting us know! No these units don't have ACs, it could be that window units aren't allowable for the noise factor but we'll look into it. We'll definitely have our maintenance guy check out the fan!
