Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft
The house is in a quiet, friendly residential area. It’s peaceful and perfect for relaxing after a day out yet just a short walk from the lively town centre with shops, pubs and restaurants close by.
Getting around is easy. The house is just a 10 minute walk (850m) from the town centre. A convenience store is 5 minutes away on foot (450m) and three local supermarkets are just a 2 minute drive, perfect if you fancy staying in and cooking.
You’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that Kenmare has to offer. Here are some of my favourite things to do, plus a few extra ideas:
Kenmare Bay is stunning, especially in the early morning light, well worth an early walk. For the more adventurous, you can scuba dive or take a boat tour to see the local seal colony.
A visit to a traditional Irish farm is great for families. Walk among the animals, learn about the Irish Potato Famine, watch a bread making demo and get a feel for rural Irish life.
Kenmare itself is a colourful and charming town. Take time to wander the streets, pop into a traditional pub for a hearty meal and soak up the atmosphere. If you're here on a Wednesday don’t miss the Kenmare Farmers Market, it’s full of local produce, handmade crafts and souvenirs.
The house is right on the Kerry Way, ideal for walkers and those planning to drive the Ring of Kerry. The scenic 200km route takes you through Killarney National Park and along breathtaking coastal roads. It takes around 4 hours to drive, longer if you stop (which you should!).
Tip: Tour buses travel counterclockwise so go clockwise to avoid getting stuck behind them and set off before 9am to beat the traffic.
You can also explore the Ring of Beara. Head out of Kenmare on the N71 towards Glengarriff, crossing the suspension bridge. The 128km route includes highlights like the Healy Pass, Castletownbere, Dursey Island and the colourful villages of Allihies, Eyeries and Ardgroom.
