LUXURY OCEAN-FRONT COTTAGE WITH PRIVATE BEACH

A 1400 sq ft, stone cottage in a stunning location in County Kerry with one acre of grounds leading to the water’s edge, a terrace and private beach.
Seal Rock Cottage has panoramic views of the ocean, islands and mountains. Situated on Rossmore Island it is connected to the famous Ring of Kerry by an ancient stone bridge.
The interior has been designed by Andrew Burch, the much acclaimed Welsh Interior Desgner aind consists of a sitting room with library and open log fire, a garden room with cast iron stove, a surround sound home entertainment system and stunning views over the water. And a dining area, well equipped luxury kitchen, laundry room and cloakroom.
The grounds are sympathetically landscaped retaining many of the existing natural features including a stream, mini-waterfalls, and ocean-side terrace.
Voted one of Ireland's top 10 cottages by Alastair Sawday.

Ireland's Riviera: So called because of it's lush semi-tropical vegetation and micro climate. It's perfect location has attracted celebrity interest with the Riverdance founder, Michael Flatley, wishing to purchase a property on the Island.

It has also been photographed and selected as the feature property in the magazine Country Homes and Interiors.

Schuldig! - wir haben es gerne sauber ...

Positiv: + Meerblick toll + ruhige abgeschiedene Lage (3 weitere Häuser in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft) + gepflegtes Grundstück bis ans Meer Negativ: - Kleinigkeiten kaputt (z.B. Weg-/Außenbeleuchtung) - keine Möglichkeit zum Aufhängen von Kleidung (dafür Haken/Bügel an d Türen) - enge (sehr unansehnliche) Duschen - einige Dinge fehlten (z.B. Markise, TV in Schlafzimmern, "Kajaks"), obwohl angepriesen (das Internet-Profil wurde WÄHREND unseres Aufenthaltes entspr angepasst - hat uns leider nicht mehr geholfen) - Preis/Leistung stimmt nicht - nicht sauber! - sehr unerfreuliche Korrespondenz mit Vermietern Dazu: wg einer früheren, neg Bewertung betr Sauberkeit hatten wir vorher die Vermieter kontaktiert. Uns wurden Gewissenhaftigkeit u langjährige Erfahrung der Putzfrau zugesichert. Wir haben das Haus leider nicht sauber vorgefunden. Es war nicht ordentlich gesaugt/gewischt, Lampen zT voller Spinnweben, Wohnz staubig, schwarze Ränder in Duschen (und zwar nicht vom "eisenhaltigen Wasser"), klebrige Finger nach Öffnen von Küchenschränken, Küchengeräte nicht sauber usf. Die Vermieter haben die Putzfrau am 2. Tag geschickt - allerdings leider nur, um uns dann mitzuteilen, dass man "ausdrücklich keine dieser Anzeichen von Unsauberkeit" finden konnte! Insb wg der Abgeschiedenheit und dem irischen Wetter haben wir uns für ein eher teures Haus ("Luxury") entschieden u hätten es gerne nach unseren Bedürfnissen (betr Sauberkeit, Vollständigkeit, Funktionsfähigkeit, liebevoll gepflegt) vorgefunden/genutzt. Richtig unerfreulich und zT sehr anmaßend waren noch die E-Mails des Vermieters dazu (zB "ist ja schliesslich kein Krankenhaus; unhöflich von uns, die angebotene Kompensation nicht anzunehmen; Putzfrau hat KEINE EINZIGE unserer Bemängelungen gefunden; wir sollten lieber die Lage und den Meerblick wertschätzen" usf). Ja, man hat uns einen irrelevant kleinen Betrag als Kompensation angeboten, den wir nicht angenommen haben (wofür auch, wenn doch alles so perfekt ist?). Tip: hier sollte das Vermieter-Paar die Kommunikation mit Gästen lieber ihr überlassen (sie war wenigstens verständnisvoll und hat sich f d Unannehmlichkeiten mal entschuldigt). Kurz: gewissenhaft geputzt war es nicht! Wir haben es gern angemessen sauber/gepflegt u wir mögen zuverlässige Partner - hier wurden wir sehr enttäuscht. Daran ändern auch andere, positivere Bewertungen nichts.

We loved the cottage and location! In all fairness, it might be more remote than some would prefer- about 20 minutes drive from Kenmare, but the private beach and dark skies make up for that. It is very secluded and peaceful. The cottage itself was much more pleasant than even the pictures show. The beds were really comfortable and the place very clean. We enjoyed a full day in during storm Amy. Cannot wait to come back. Highly recommend.

What a magnificent home! We loved staying here. The home is exactly as described in the listing. The view of Kenmare Bay right on the water was lovely and it was fantastic to be in a quiet setting with the just the sounds of the waves, the breeze, and at times the rain.. The home is in excellent condition. And it is a great location for day trips to some Irelands most enchanting locations. We look forward to returning!

This place is amazing! The view is perfect, the accommodations creative and amazing!! They thought of everything. This is probably not a place for little ones but adults will enjoy it all! It’s close to several golf options, fine dining, friendly pubs and the most amazing outdoor view! The hosts and caretakers were so incredibly kind and friendly!! I cannot praise this place and area enough!!

Our 3rd Return!!

We’ve been returning to Seal Rock Cottage for three consecutive years and recently stayed 8 nights in May. When you find a place that checks all the boxes, it’s a very easy decision. The home’s location, while remote, affords the most spectacular views of Kenmare Bay and the Beara Peninsula. It is a perfect location for day excursions to The Ring of Kerry, the Beara Peninsula, Kenmare, Killarney, Glengarriff and Garinish Island, Bantry, the Healy Pass, and Parknasilla for rounds of golf. The home is just beautifully decorated, always spotless, incredibly comfortable beds, has a wonderful kitchen with great appliances, and a well stocked kitchen. It had everything that we needed to cook many meals. We were so fortunate to have had spectacular weather with sunny skies, warm days and cool nights. It was ideal for sitting outside by the water, sipping on drinks and having fires in the stone fireplace inside in the evenings. Thank you Jane and Michael for sharing your incredible home with us all to enjoy.

Ireland Golf - Hiking

A RETURN BACK TO THIS BREATHTAKING GEM!

We knew last year that we would return to Seal Rock Cottage and this year we did just that! The views are absolutely spectacular, and the home is warm and spotless! Everything about this home is perfect! If you are looking for a home that is close to Sneem, on the Ring of Kerry, and near the Berea Peninsula, yet away from the hustle and bustle, this is definitely the place. It has a well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, a beautiful stone, wood burning fireplace, and incredible views to watch the magnificent sun sets. Plus the owners are just wonderful and we are thankful to them for sharing their hidden gem with us all! We already booked our return for next year!

Breathtaking Views with a Cozy Touch

Seal Rock Cottage was absolutely beautiful! The check-in process went smoothly, and everything was very neat and clean for our arrival. Instructions in the guest book helped us with turning on the oven and other appliances to make it an easier stay. We enjoyed coffee by the wood fireplace, meals outside on the terrace, and going down to the waterfront to further enjoy the stunning views. It was a great home to wind down in and to plan our adventures for the day in. It was an ideal location to explore Ireland's peninsulas and all its beauty. :) We would recommend this place to all of our friends and family, and we are so thankful for a wonderful stay!

A TRUE HIDDEN GEM!!!

What an amazing 2weeks we had at Seal Rock Cottage! It truly exceeded our expectations! From the moment we opened the door we knew we had found a gem! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the cottage is a extremely stylish, cozy and spotless. Having use of a fully stocked kitchen with wonderful appliances were very much appreciated since we did make use of cooking dinners quite often. Whether we were sitting outside enjoying the ever changing views or sitting inside by the warmth of a fire, we were quick to realize that we will definitely return next year and for another two weeks! We really enjoyed the privacy, yet the location is easily reached to so many areas that were on our must do list. The owners, Michael and Jane gave us many recommendations for things to check out and were fabulous to work with. Thank you Michael and Jane for sharing your magnificent home with us!
