A Gem of a 2 BR Condo for Quiet Summer Weekend

I have stayed in a lot of off main resort condos and homes with my family during our snowmobile and ATV weekends and this one is by far one of the nicest equipped. Easy elevator access and beautiful bay doors open all the way for remarkable view. Beds very comfortable and nice master bath.

Nice condo in great location

Overall we had a great stay. Property was perfect for what we were looking for, slopeside at the base of Granby. The access codes we got were outdated and required contacting the property manager, and a few maintenance issues that need addressed, otherwise would be 5 star. Vacasa contact line was always responsive and got us into the condo within 30 minutes. I would stay here again.

Nice and convenient

We love staying at Base Camp One! So convenient to be able to go up to our room for breaks between skiing. Nice to be able to cook but also a good bar/restaurant on property. A locker for storage and a parking spot in the indoor garage come with the room. Close to a grocery store and fast food. Room was just as nice as it looks online.

Beautiful property, furnishings are exactly like the photos, but the family room area is smaller than pictured. Plenty of towels, soap, hair products & kitchen supplies. Be sure to bring coffee & make sure you have a current access code to the garage, front & back doors!

You could not be closer to the slopes. It was so convenient. There were too many codes to get into the building in the door that were hard to remember, and we weren’t given them in advance. Make sure you get the codes before you go.

Does not come with shared hot tub/pool

The shared hot tub and pool required $10/per person. That was not clear in the listing. Check in they gave me the wrong code and took a bit to actually get into the unit. The unit was not clean, looked like beds were just made without being cleaned.

Louisiana to Colorado

We visit Colorado yearly for skiing. This year we decide to visit during the summer and go the RMNP. The condo was very nice and clean. The views from the balcony were amazing while having a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Upon arriving the condo was very hot. This year they are having unusual hotter summer. We had to use the box fans to get it cooler during the afternoons when we returned. The tiny ceiling fans really didn’t help with adding cooler air. The kitchen was equipped with everything that we needed while staying. The only suggestion would be adding bigger ceiling fans. Other than that, we would definitely stay here again. The live band during the week and food at the base were added bonus to the stay! We enjoyed hanging at the base in the evenings. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your condo!

Do not stay here

If I could leave a negative review I would. No water, no AC, no elevators worked for several days, never given any codes to the garage or front of the building, had to use my own Hulu because there was no regular TV. I emailed property management twice and never got a response, talked to 3 people and was told all my issues would be handled and they were not. I requested a discount and never got an answer. Find a different place to stay with a different management company.

Wonderful place. Very reasonably priced

This is a wonderful condo. It was clean with nice amenities. The building is right next to the ski lodge and Quickdraw Express chairlift. It doesn't get much better. There is an indoor lounge area with a fireplace as well as an outdoor seating area with a gas fire pit and a couple of bbq grills facing the ski lift. The condo's deck faces away from the ski area, so it is nice and quiet with nice views to the North, up towards the town of Granby and Rocky Mountain National park. Master bathroom is huge as is the walk in closet. The underground parking is nice with 7ft, 10in clearance. Big enough for a full size, long bed 2500 4x4 pickup. Granby Ranch is a great smaller ski area that reminds me of the ski areas of my childhood. There is only 1000ft of vertical, but they make good use of it with a nice selection of terrain. While Granby is more focused on beginner and intermediate terrain, more accomplished skiers will find some more challenging runs and trees off of the Conquest list. There is just enough facilities there to make Granby, just right nice. The staff is super helpful and friendly.

Nice Property / Vacasa Can Do Better

The property was very nice. Everything in the unit was fantastic. My only constructive criticism is that the VRBO booking said we would receive a text on how to get in the unit. We never received a text. We had to sign up for the Vacasa App to find this information. Additionally, the code to unlock the door wouldn’t work since the “0” button was missing. The Vacasa reps weren’t super helpful as they gave us a code for a lockbox to get a physical key. Unfortunately the code for the lockbox didn’t work. I used a metal object to eventually get the “0” to work so we could get in. Of note, we were in Granby for a family event. I know of at least 3 other parties that had issues with the keyless system at this property. Keyless is great…if it works. Vacasa might want to take a look at this process. Once we got this resolved we thoroughly enjoyed our stay so I would still recommend this property.

Lovely place, management company not so much

I want to premise the following criticisms with the fact we loved the property, its amenities, etc. I’m sure the owners are great people and unless some real estate conglomerate swallowed this property up, all of the negative things to follow are due to the management company. To start, the WiFi was the fastest I’ve seen in a short-term rental. Like 500 down. The pool, which is around the corner and outside (no complaints there… swimming in a 90 pool plus hot tub while the snow is falling is magical), is actually open until 8pm and not 445pm like the support line told us. This was one of a few misinformed bits of info the management company would communicate. The pool is also 15/day for adults - this text is hidden in the fine text of the property and listed as 10 when we last checked (Feb 2025). The heating units, baseboards for the most part, seemed to be going way too high and made some humming noises a couple nights. Nothing major but don’t run the fireplace. Speaking of which, don’t run the fireplace if you have little ones… the glass gets exceedingly hot and they really should put up a plaque warning people about it. Our kiddo thankfully pulled away in time but someone 3 or 4 may seriously burn themselves. I think the thermostat may be broken, it appears from the 70s and heat was kind of all over the place. Finally, if you plan on cooking and slicing anything substantial, bring your own knives. Their butcher knife is so dull, you run the risk of slicing yourself.

Fantastic location for convenience

We enjoyed our stay! Having access to ski lockers and true ski in and out was priceless. The condo was really nice and perfect for our family of 4. Everything we needed in kitchen was within reach and we are in most of the time. We’d definitely stay here again!
