Adorable 2BD/2BR Ski-In/Out Condo in Granby Ranch
Welcome to Freundschaft Haus, the perfect getaway at the base of Granby Ranch ski hill. Our condo sits on the ground level of Base Camp One with walk-out access to skiing, hiking, mountain biking, etc. Imagine enjoying a drink on our back patio as you take a ski/bike break. Or cozy up inside with the ambiance of our indoor fireplace and enjoy a movie or play a game. We feel confident you will create lasting memories during your stay here.
Our condo features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms while comfortably sleeping 6. The primary bedroom features a king bed and bathroom. The 2nd bedroom offers 2 queen beds (bunkbed) and a separate bathroom. One of the highlights of our condo is that it is one of only 7 units with a walk-out porch at Base Camp One. This not only gives you two easy entrance/exit points to our condo, but it also gives the easiest access to the ski/bike lifts, the main lodge and restaurants, music concerts in the summer, or the heated pool/hot tub. You'll also get the use of our ski locker for gear as well as one spot in our underground parking garage.
As for things to do in the area, Granby Ranch is centrally located between Winter Park and Grand Lake and offers a wide variety of family activities for any season. Rocky Mountain National Park is close by which provides endless nature adventures!
** Winter Activities **
SKIING: Ski Granby Ranch resort is designed for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities, which makes it the perfect place for families. Night skiing is available and the main lift is just a 1-minute walk from the patio! It doesn't get much better than this! This property is also located 21 miles from Winter Park and Mary Jane ski resorts. Shuttle services to Winter Park are available through “The Lift” Winter Park Transit.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: Two top-rated Nordic areas are nearby in Grand County: Devil's Thumb Nordic Center and the YMCA of the Rockies Nordic Center. Devil's Thumb has nearly 120km of trails nestled in the pristine and private Ranch Creek Valley at the base of the Continental Divide. YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center offers 120K of world-class terrain that meanders through pine forest, wide meadows and along Pole Creek. Classic and skate skiing, fat tire biking, and snowshoeing are also available.
DOG SLEDDING: Dog sled rides are available through the YMCA of the Rockies and Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park.
TUBING: Fraser Tubing Hill is a fantastic family attraction and just 15 minutes away! For a milder tubing experience, there is also free tubing at Hideaway Park in Fraser with tubes provided by the city.
SNOWMOBILING: Grand Lake is a Colorado snowmobiling dream! Bring your own snowmobile or rent one in town. Explore the scenic terrain on your own or sign up for a guided tour. Grand Lake’s 300 miles of snowmobiling trails offer something for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.
** Summer Activities **
MOUNTAIN BIKING: Ski Granby Ranch turns into bike trails perfect for mountain bikers of all ages and ability levels. Bike Granby Ranch's retail shop provides rentals that include bikes and equipment.
GOLFING: Golf Granby Ranch, a stunning 18-hole mountain course, is available for all levels of golfers and is open from May through October (weather permitting). Visit the Granby Ranch website for rates and availability.
POOL: Granby Ranch Pool and Hot Tub is a 3-minute walk from this unit. It costs $10/person/day via credit card payable at the Ranch Hall and it is worth it!! Also - all children 8 and under are free. Renters must present documents that show they are staying in a full benefit member home in order to purchase a pass. A VRBO reservation confirmation with address of the home will work as proof.
HIKING: Granby provides quick access to miles and miles of trails. Enjoy the Rocky Mountain wildlife while exploring the trails nearby, or venture into Rocky Mountain Park where you'll discover world-renowned scenery.
FISHING: Anglers will find rainbow, brook, mackinaw, cutthroat trout, and large kokanee salmon at the nearby Lake Granby, Shadow Mountain Reservoir, Grand Lake, and Willow Creek Reservoir. You can enjoy guided gold-medal fly fishing (catch and release only) on a private three-mile stretch of the Fraser River providing a peaceful day on the water. A fishing pass can be purchased at the Golf Granby Ranch clubhouse.

Extra Parking: Should you need a parking spot for a 2nd vehicle, there is overflow parking at the bottom of Village Rd at the Silvercreek Condo (take the road down the hill towards highway 40 and it's the last condo building on your right). Park in their lot and get a parking pass from the reception area for your vehicle.
At Base Camp One, there is an additional lounge space right around the corner from our unit. It boasts a TV, lounge areas, fireplace, gaming tables, and more. Outside of the lounge you'll find a large fire pit as well as community tables and grills to extend the outdoor living space.
To access the Pool, Hot Tub, Fitness Center or Game Room, renters must present proof of your reservation and purchase a day pass for $10/person (children 8 and under are free). This is a Granby Ranch rule (not ours!). Hours of operation are 7:00am - 8:45pm.
Other things to note:
Base Camp One is right next to the Ski Lodge which has a great restaurant and bar! Also during the summer months, they provide a concert series and other fun events for all Granby Ranch guests. Lucky for you it's right outside your backporch!

Freundschaft Haus is owned and operated by two families from Fort Collins, Colorado and it has been our lifelong dream come true. We are made up of a teacher, a nurse, a social worker and a brewer, and we have five children between us. We like to think that our backgrounds and talents collectively make this space feel homey and welcoming to guests of all ages.
Our name means “Friendship House”... in German, because when purchasing the condo one of our families was about to move to Berlin for a few years! We’re delighted to share our place with you and hope you’ll make this a tradition you can come back to year after year.

We love having a ski in/ski out spot so we can enjoy summer and winter activities right outside our back patio. We also love checking out the local restaurants, summer music concerts, and dipping in the heated pool and hot tub.
