Our Mediterranean style Villa is set in 2.5 acres of land with pretty landscaped gardens, separate pool area and a small fruit orchard. The Villa is fully equipped for family living and provides modern and spacious accommodation for 8 people. The main living areas all open on to the sun terrace which runs across the front and side of the Villa - providing an ideal spot for outdoor dining and entertaining.
A new 7m covered terrace, with large teak table, at the rear of the Villa allows for eating in the shade. The Villa has been extended with a 50m2 dining, living and family room opening out onto a new sun terrace.

The Woodland area provides welcome shade during the heat of the day and quiet spots for one to sit and admire the beautiful views of the vineyards and the snow capped tips of the distant Pyrenees…

The salt water pool (10m x 5m) and summer kitchen are situated on their own landscaped terrace area below the villa. The Villa is secluded and has electric security gates and extensive outdoor lighting making it safe and secure for all guests. The village of Verzeille is a short walk away, with a fantastic butcher who also sells bread and croissants and other groceries. There are many restaurants and small shops in the neighbouring villages.

Suitable for all...: Our Villa will provide a holiday haven for you whether you are a family with children, a group looking for adventure and new experiences or simply those of you wanting a quiet, tranquil place to soak up the sun or sit in the shade. Even those of you looking for a new place to Ski are catered for as the ski resorts of the Pyrenees and Andorra are only a 1 1/2 hr drive away. Or why not try and overnight trip to Barcelona or visit the Costa Brava?

We love spending time here and have not yet run out of new things to see and do...

From Historic sites to bustling market towns: With the Medieval Cite of Carcassone, a world heritage site, on your doorstep and the Cathar country next door this is a perfect location for those of you who love to explore the history of different areas.

Explore the traditional markets at Castelnaudray, Mirepoix and Carcassone for a taste of real France or visit Limoux and taste the famous 'Blanquette de Limoux'.

Alternatively take a trip on a boat along the Canal du Midi the list of things to see and do is endless....

A 40 minute drive will see you in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Alets les Bains is where the white water rafting companies operate from. A range of water sport activities are offered for all abilities and tastes.

The area is also a Mecca for cyclists. Both Limoux and Carcassonne have hosted stage starts and finishes of the Tour de France. There are some wonderful mountain bike trails from the villa and the road cycling caters for all abilities.

Villa was very well equipped, comfortable and in a quiet setting with beautiful views. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing around the swimming pool. A fantastic base for exploring the area.

Superbe semaine !

Villa très spacieuse, avec un terrain incroyable à explorer. Un calme apprécié et reposant avec une vue ressourçante. Une semaine superbe avec de très bons moments. Je recommande chaudement, tout est là pour profiter complètement de vos vacances dans un cadre idyllique. Les gens et les commerces de la région sont très accueillants. Sarah est parfaite et prend soin de vous. It’s better if you are able to express yourself in English. Seul bémol, il n’y a pas de wifi et l’internet uniquement via 3G, un peu critique pour nos ados ;-). Semaine à la hauteur de nos attentes. Merci!

Maison parfaite pour une pause en famille

Nous avons résidé une semaine dans la maison. La maison est grande, propre, bien décorée et bien agencée. Les différents espaces de salon sont pratiques pour que chacun puisse vaquer à ses occupations, lecture, jeux de sociétés, puzzles... les différents coins repas permettent de varier au gré des envies : près du barbecue à l’abri du vent/du soleil, devant la maison, à l’intérieur. Il y a une table de Ping Pong et une grande piscine avec des transats. Le terrain de la maison est très grand, il y a même une table de pique nique en hauteur sur la propriété. Les différentes questions et problèmes que nous avons pu rencontrer ont été adressés par le propriétaire de manière efficace.

Spacious villa with lots of room for everyone!

Lovely clean villa near the village of Verzeille. The pool is amazing and a great way to cool down when it is so hot! I would have appreciated a hand rail to enter the pool- it was fine for the younger members of our group though. A car is necessary to make the most of this lovely area. The house was tastefully decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook at the villa. The bathrooms were clean and modern and it was great to have a separate toilet too. This private villa is set in lovely gardens. I would recommend this villa to family and friends.

Fantastic holiday villa

We stayed at Villa Lana for 2 weeks at the end of August into September 2017. The Villa itself is extremely comfortable and the best equipped we have found. We enjoyed the peace and quiet sought. The pool was a good size for swimming with adequate shade when required. At this time of year the heated water was much appreciated. The owners left more than enough information and were very helpful. We would happily holiday here again.

Très jolie Villa, à l'abri des regards

Nous sommes restés deux semaines à Villa Lana début septembre 2016. La maison est spacieuse, très confortable et décorée avec gout. Elle est très bien équipée (pas de matériel de récupération). On sent que les propriétaires y habitent eux-mêmes régulièrement. La piscine chauffée et recouvrable avec un volet électrique est utilisable (28°C tous les jours) contrairement à certaines Villa que nous avons louées par le passé et dans lesquelles il fallait rentrer avec une combinaison. La maison est la dernière de la rue, au calme et sans vis-à-vis. Elle est complètement cloturée. Sécurité et tranquilité assurée. En lisant le commentaire précédent si négatif, nous avons bien failli ne pas choisir cette maison. Après réflexion, nous nous sommes dit que c'était trop négatif pour être objectif. La curiosité l'a emporté et nous sommes passé outre. Bien nous en a pris. Nous sommes prêts à recommencer à la premiere occasion.

In the Land of Cathars and Peculiar Plumbing

A stay at Villa Lana is an experience not to be missed. Having rented villas across Europe for the last 10 years, I can with total confidence state that our memories of Villa Lana will last for years. As will the scars on my knees and elbows. But I am getting ahead of myself. The property sits in a spectacular rural setting which the orientation of the house and windows has done its very best to minimize. To the British owners I say, "Bravo." No one can do irony like our cousins "across the pond." Regarding the pool, a tiny quibble if I may: Lack of water made laps a wee bit of a challenge. We arrived to discover approximately 18 inches (0.25 fathoms in UK) of water depth but were assured that the hose delivering water to the pool at a rate slightly ahead of evaporation would surely have it filled "tout de suite." And sure enough, by the end of the week there was a solid 32 inches of water depth at the shallow end. Plenty deep for the adorable mouse enjoying a nice long float. (Note to self: Pack elbow and knee pads along with bathing suit if returning to Villa Lana. And bandages. And antibiotics.) And speaking of water pressure, if you plan on using one of the showers, running the washing machine, flushing a toilet or brushing your teeth, do only one at a time. Allow a decent interval (a fortnight should do the trick) so as that the, shall we say, casual water pressure may return to full trickle! And speaking of the washing machine, what is that fascinating aroma in the garage? Wet dog, fraternity bathroom and a hint of mint? I surely hope the owners post the recipe. Since the owners have charmingly failed to install any internet capability, packing in your kit a couple of tin cans and A LOT of string will dramatically enhance the available information technology of the property. Oh, and make sure your rental car is a Hummer with a foot plus of ground clearance and purchase every bit of insurance you can at the rental agency. Entering and exiting the property is a great way to burnish the undercarriage of your car. I do hope the next renter can make use of the muffler we left behind as a little "thank you." I could go on, but I believe I've painted a rich and revealing canvas of what one can expect after spending a week at Villa Lana. A bientot! Seattle Visitors

Beautiful villa with lovely gardens

Very comfortable, well equipped and well maintained property. Beautiful gardens in a very pretty setting. Very clean on arrival. Friendly owner. Lovely large pool. Carcassonne only ten to fifteen minutes drive away. Unspoilt area of France. Well decorated and relaxing bedrooms. We were a group of adults but would also thoroughly recommend to families. No negatives at all!
