El Tucan ist modern, wunderschön und fantastisch für eine blühende Strandgemeinde mit Restaurants, Bars, Spas, einem örtlichen Segelzentrum, Massagen am Strand, Yoga-Kursen und vielem mehr zugänglich. Der Garten ist ein kleiner tropischer Dschungel, in dem Sie sich entspannen und vom Alltagsstress abkoppeln können.

Wir haben einen Hausmeister, der zu Ihrer Bequemlichkeit und Sicherheit auf dem Grundstück wohnt. Ein Concierge steht zur Verfügung, um all Ihre Ausfl��ge und Abenteuer in Costa Rica zu arrangieren.

Unsere private Villa ist ca. 1600 m² groß auf zwei Etagen mit zwei Schlafzimmern und zwei Bädern. Jedes Schlafzimmer verfügt über eine private Terrasse / Sonnenterrasse, auf der Sie auf den verlockenden Tagesbetten entspannen können. Das Hauptschlafzimmer verfügt über raumhohe, 1,80 m hohe Doppelglasschiebetüren. Erwachen Sie mit den Klängen des Ozeans, Brüllaffen und grünen Papageien zu einer unglaublichen tropischen Aussicht.

Der Reinigungsservice, die Gartenarbeit, der Poolservice und die Sicherheit vor Ort (rund um die Uhr) werden von Marling und Francisco bereitgestellt.

Unsere Hausmeister sind super hilfsbereit und stehen zu Ihrer Verfügung.

Lush Garden areas close to beach

Fabulous location! Close to the beach. The outdoor seating areas were great. Both rooms had balconies and 2 outdoor seating areas very private. Pool was very relaxing after a day at the beach.

Even in a Tropical Storm

The property was very comfortable. The garden and pool areas were lovely. We were there during record breaking rain, but still enjoyed our time there. The grounds keepers kept the area clean of storm debris, giving us a beautiful view.

Roomy, nicely appointed and convenient to a lot of great beaches

Great last unit in a group of 4. Playa Potrero is a short walk away. Other cool beaches such as Danita and Conchal are a short drive and hike. Nice location if you want a quiet, uncrowded get away.

It was a very guiet and relaxing property. Pool was in close proximate and only a few minute walk from the beach. It was also a gated community/area so felt very safe. Enjoy some quiet downtime here when we were back from visiting beach and surrounding areas.

Amazing stay in potrero

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Tuscan. The property is even better than the pictures portray. The area was lovely,the staff was attentive and quick to respond. We especially loved being able to walk to our favorite restaurants each night. Property was very kid friendly but also relaxing and enjoyable for adults. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking in potrero area.

Relaxing pool and beach spot!

This home was private yet close to the essentials. Playa Portrero is a small beach town with a handful of restaurants and small markets. Perfect if you're looking to be somewhat secluded but still have what you need. The pool was nearly private with only 3 other units sharing the space. The beach was not even a 5 minute walk away and never had more than ~30 people on it at once. The home itself was actually better than the pictures show, the master bedroom is gorgeous and the balconies make it so fun!

We found the service to be excellent: when we needed an extra set of keys and the TV wasn't working, someone was sent right away to help resolve the issue. The grounds were kept immaculate, the interior of the condo was very clean and nicely decorated in light colors, and there were bicycles, beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and all things to make going to the beach for the day a pleasant outing. We also appreciated that there was a safe on the premises. Please be aware that there is a spiral staircase to the second floor with very good hand bars, which may be a challenge for some; we found it perfectly comfortable. One thing to note is that there is not a door between the master bedroom and its en-suite bathroom, which made using the toilet slightly uncomfortable for a person with modesty. The cooking pans were also a bit worn, and there were only 4 coffee cups (which is challenging if you have 5 or 6 people staying). There were plenty of other dishes, and good storage containers for leftovers. We definitely enjoyed it as a comfortable launching place for our daily adventures along the coast, and would stay there again for its convenience, good amenities, and responsiveness and friendliness of the staff.

Beautiful weekend at el toucan

We loved our short stay at Stef surf. We stayed in the el toucan villa. It is the last villa in a line of 4 villas so we had ultimate privacy. Great space. Loved all the outdoor seating areas including a gorg balcony off both bedrooms. Perfect for morning coffee with the birds. Loved having a grea kitchen and a washer dryer. Caretaker is super friendly and helpful. Only con... what we thought was a hot tub was really a cold pool with jets Other than that it was a blissful stay. Pura vida

Nice location

Very close to a beautiful beach, close to some restaurants and one small market. Recommend getting car as ither places arw not walking distance. Unit is comfortable and well air conditioned. The beds were not great, though. And we had to use the pull out couch in the livibgroom which wasnt very comfortable. Only other issues is that jacuzzi does not get heated, even though advertised as useable. Lastly, cleaning products like soap and detergent were very watered down. But overall a good unit for families with plenty of space and goid location!

Stef Surf Tucan

Stef Surf Tucan was a great place to stay. The rooms were spacious with great outdoor patios to sit and enjoy the scenery. We had options of the pool with beautiful tropical scenery at the villa or a short walk to the beach. The villa is located just a couple of blocks away from several great places to eat. There is also a small store located even closer that we bought some groceries to cook. Our trip was made even more enjoyable with the help from our host Tony Gonzalez. This was our first trip to Costa Rica. He met us the first day and was always available through Whatsapp. I don't think we could have asked for a better host. The food was great everywhere. My favorite meals were probably lunch at Coco Loco (Mar y Sol ) and breakfast at the Surf Box (La Mexicana). That said, we ate at The Shack several times and other places. I'd highly recommend coming. Pura Vida!

Culture shock - grateful for this paradise getaway

Call us ignorant travelers from the States but we truly did not have any clue what to expect when we landed in Costa Rica. A nighttime drive in a rental car from Liberia airport and an adventurous ride down Monkey Trail (avoid at all costs!), we were relieved when we walked through the secure front gate to Stef Surf property. Our own gorgeous paradise! Immaculately clean and thankful for the A/C units! Weather is quite humid but our unit was not. El Toucan unit was on the end and I would say the most private of all 4 units. Grounds were also immaculate and the maintenance and landscaping staff were hard working but also attentive to guests staying there. Francisco checked on us and was most pleasant while Tony, our contact with property management, was quick to reply to any communications. WhatsApp is a MUST to have.

Unprepared

When we arrived we were locked out with no way of accessing out keys to the property. We had to wait outside in tbe rain with out 6 month old. Once we were able to access our property and room, nothing was prepared for us. The pool wasnt turned on, the cushions by the pool was so dirty and not in place, there was no towls or toilet paper in our place. As soon as they arrived they told us they would come back soon to finish cleaning the inside, which we declined because we had just arrived and wanted to enjoy our space not have workers in there doing the job that should have been done prior to us arriving. We were promised a high chair and play pen and neither were ready for us, they arrived much later into the evening. Disappointing stay. They promised me a night refund for our troubles and I never received that either.

Tropical retreat in Surf Side

Nestled within the Surf Side Community, this picturesque property offers a tropical oasis experience. With four units connected like duplexes, a shared pool creates a serene atmosphere. The friendly groundskeeper and his assistant are always ready to assist. The road leading to the property is unpaved, so caution is advised. The beach is a short walk away–turn left, then right, then left again, and you're there. The dark sand may stick to you, but it's soft. We had the beach to ourselves most days. Not the greatest beach. The unit could use some updates, kitchen sink hardware is loose and the stove vent goes nowhere. The fridge is in good condition, but shelves are missing on the inside of the door. Bedrooms and bathrooms are well-appointed, and towels are plentiful. Our host, Tony, was exceptional. He promptly responded to our questions and offered suggestions through WhatsApp. Overall, the property provided a comfortable stay for our family. With its amenities and proximity to stunning beaches, it made for an unforgettable vacation.

Great property, pool and proximity to the ocean

We stayed here with another couple to celebrate our ten year anniversary and had a spectacular time. It starts with the responsiveness of Greg to all questions and then the thorough welcome guide that gives advice on places to eat and things to do was great. We spent most morning walking the beach and then heading back to the condo to quick shower and head out for a bite to eat. There really isn't a need for a car with all the places so close but we did take a couple trips to Las Catalinas and the nearby beaches for a little different flavor. All the beaches were basically empty and the waves were great for body surfing. We use Liz the concierge to book a great catamaran trip on the Lazy Lizard and also took a day trip to Nicaragua which was a really long day (start at 5AM and get back at 11PM) but it was interesting to do, I wouldn't recommend for smaller children as there were long waits at the border which would be hard for a kid. The Condo is down a dirt road and it really reminded me of the way Costa Rica was 20 years ago before it became so popular. The nearby restaurants were all good and there was a nice variety of places to drink and watch the sunset. Although we usually just packed up some beers and walked down to the beach and watched sunset on the beach, then walked along the beach to eat. I highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back. The pool was a perfect way to relax to once it got too hot since it is shaded.

Paradise!

I cannot begin to express just how incredible our stay at Stef Surf El Tucan was! From the moment we stepped foot into this lush, tropical oasis, we knew we were in for a treat. The attention to detail and high-end furnishings in El Tucan left us feeling like we were staying in a luxury resort, yet with the added benefit of complete privacy. Each evening, we eagerly made our way to the beach, a short 3 minute walk, to witness the mesmerizing colours of the setting sun painting the sky in hues of gold and pink. It was truly a magical experience. The unit itself is thoughtfully designed with beautiful outdoor spaces that allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature. The master bedroom was a peaceful haven, with the gentle sound of waves breaking on the beach and bird signing. My sleep in the primary room was incredible. The cozy living and dining area, hammocks and daybeds, and the refreshing pool with a jacuzzi all contributed to making our stay exceptionally comfortable and enjoyable. We were provided with everything we needed for our stay, from beach chairs and umbrellas to comfortable linens and a well stocked kitchen – they really thought of everything! I must mention the caring and attentive caretaker, Francisco, who is truly wonderful. Stef Surf El Tucan has set the bar high for future vacation rentals and we will be dreaming about it until our return! If you're seeking an unforgettable getaway, look no further!

Take me back to El Tucan

Our family was lucky to find this gorgeous rental in Playa Potrero where we stayed in March 2018. We were especially thankful that the reservation schedule and the owners allowed us to shift our stay two days as we were delayed at home by a snow storm. It was an easy ride from Liberia to the condo if you stayed on the main road (Route 155); a bit more of an adventure if you took route 911, which would probably be a real challenge in the wet season as it goes through a stream bed. The condo was very accommodating—great beds (firm), water pressure and well equipped kitchen. Greg and Gladys provided an exceptional guide to the area listing restaurants, beaches and activities and arranged for a local concierge, Lis, to help us book some activities. Lis knew a great surf instructor, booked a catamaran snorkeling trip for us, and gave us the lay of the land the way only a local can know it. This service sets this place apart from others. The pool and grounds are a beautiful tropical sanctuary which allowed us some R&R. The property managers Francisco and Marling were kind and helpful. There are lots of restaurants in walking distance, but we kept our car to allow us to travel to further afield. The wifi worked well. We had mixed luck at the Super Wendy market, but there are two better grocery stores nearby. There is so much to do and so much to see in Costa Rica I can’t wait to go back—I’d return to this condo in a minute!

Lovely property, location and people

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Tucan in Stef Surf. The town home is lovely and well-appointed, and a very short walk to the beach. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and listening to the birds, surf crashing and howler monkeys in the distance. We appreciated that Potrero is not over-developed, so you truly get a feel for the local culture and people. Francisco and Marling were so lovely, and we felt very secure at the property. Lis was extremely warm and helpful in getting us oriented and recommending activities our family would enjoy. We alternated days at the local beaches with days of off-site activities. We would recommend both Buena Vista Lodge near Rincon de Vieja for adventure activities, and the sunset sail on the Lazy Lizard, whihc was arranged by Lis. Playa Flamingo and Playa Penca, each just a short drive from Stef Surf, were our favorite beaches for swimming and body-surfing. We ate at many of the local restaurants recommended by Greg and Gladys, and especially enjoyed the breakfast at Surf Box, the pina coladas and beautiful setting at Limonda, and the delicious food at El Castillo. The kids enjoyed going to Pearl's for dinner, as there are many games and activities for them to enjoy. One of the highlights of the trip was a sunset dinner at Gracia at Vista Mar. There is an infinity pool with a swim-up bar to enjoy before dinner, and then a fabulous dinner overlooking Flamingo. Frankie, the chef and owner, was onsite and very attentive. The food was fabulous and reasonably priced. Thanks to Cathy at the local brewery in Potrero (really good beers and homemade root beer for the kiddos) for the recommendation. Overall, a very relaxing and fun vacation.

Perfect Beach Condo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Playa Potrero. This is a less visited beach, which was perfect for us. It’s beautiful, not crowded and doesn’t have large waves because it’s in a bay. It’s easy to drive to other beaches, although traffic can be very slow moving ( but that’s Costa Rica). The condo itself is a short 2-3 minute walk to the beach. It’s equipped with everything you need, including a beach wagon, beach chairs & umbrellas, a cooler and even bug spray. The kitchen is very usable, with all the things you need and sharp knives! There is a washer and dryer, which was awesome for us (you don’t have to overpack or take home dirty clothes). All the rooms are spacious and the master is large and tasteful. There is a spiral staircase to get upstairs, which is not my favorite, but not a huge obstacle either. Make sure to check your email close to getting to the property, because they send you the information of how to get in shortly before your arrival. There are people that can assist you that you can call if needed, but there is not “office”. Overall, we highly recommend this place. It was a great price when we stayed (in early/mid January). And there is plenty to do in the area. One important detail of the area— if you are traveling north to some other beaches etc (Playa de la Coco or Playa Hermosa)... gps will try to take you on a long roundabout journey.... But, if you have a rental, there is a river that you can drive through!! It’s by the Congo Trail... all the locals do so and it saves about an hour in driving, depending on where you’re going. Look at a map and you will see there is a much shorter route... you can type in Nuevo Colon, and then your next destination once you’re there. It didn’t work for us any other way with Waze or Google Maps. Goodluck and have a great time! We stayed for 5 days and it was just right... m
