The house fit our family of 6 comfortably. We enjoyed the front patio, although the patio furniture was pretty old. The beds were ok. Everything was old and outdated. The back bedroom needs more than just a ceiling fan and tower fan for a comfortable night’s sleep. Air conditioning would be a major plus! The kitchen is in great need of more pots/pans, and bowls of varying sizes. We appreciated having the washer and dryer in the unit. The location is great! Overall, the house served its purpose for our beach stay.

While the location of the property was perfect, the home is bare bones. The property description states no AC but what it doesn't state is the incredibly old single pane windows and zero airflow throughout the bedrooms. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the bedrooms cooler than 80 degrees at night, even when the outside temperature barely hit mid 70s. The issue is the lack of circulation and old windows create a greenhouse type effect where the house will begin heating up as soon as the sun rises (82 degrees by 10am). Additionally, the mattresses and pillows are very, very old and cheap, adding to the sleeping difficulties. We ended up buying some pillows out of pocket in an attempt to get better sleep. The property management firm is great and responsive; however, this home is clearly someone's quick money stream in their portfolio and the absolute minimum investment has been made into it. I would sleep in a tent before staying at this property again.

Fantastic location

We enjoy our stay and the location is ideal! Close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Nice neighborhood too! Place was just as described and the check in and check out was so easy. Couple things to suggest would be: New carpet in master bedroom due to major fraying, door handle in middle bedroom kept falling off, and more comfortable seating in main room. Had a wonderful time overall and would definitely stay again!

Very roomy and bright, clean home close to the beach. 2 garage spaces is rare and ideal. Laundry in the unit is so great.

Great Place

Everything was great. Only suggestion is to have a fan for every bedroom and the living room area as it gets super hot in the summer. They only have a ceiling fan in the master and one electric fan to pump cold air. That cold air electric is vital. But seriously, everything else was great.

Great location, unit needs work.

The unit is in a great location with great proximity to the water and everything you could need from a grocery or restaurant standpoint. The furniture and the beds are in good condition ... and the garage is great. It even fit ur Yukon XL. However .... the rug in the bedrooms is made from that Jute and is VERY uncomfortable. After 2 days, I wouldn't take my shoes off in the house and my kids cried when they had to walk in the bedrooms. It is also filthy. Socks and feet were black after walking in the unit - so much so that I had the rental company come back out and clean the tile floors but I believe the dirt to actually be coming from the bedroom rugs vs the tile. Also - their is just a lot of work that needs to be done in the unit .... pieces that appear to need repair near the back door ... the windows are difficult to open and close as well. Also - a tip I would leave for the landlords ... for families, it is helpful to have some dishes the are NOT glass. Everything was glass and with a tile floor that is very risky when you are allowing children to stay. Unfortunately, we will not be staying in this unit in the future.

Nice Home and Location, but capable of so much more!!!

We were really looking forward to a nice experience at this home. While the pictures showed the place physically accurate, the photos made the place look very extravagant and new. It was far from that. WE STILL ENJOYED the home and its location, but it is capable of so much more. Below is a list of items we noticed while there: Master bedroom: -Ceiling fan lightbulb out. -Toilet paper holder starting to come off the wall. -Vanity drawers are hard to open plus one’s veneer is chipped and splitting. -One mini blind has a piece broken off. Some of the 2” blinds on doors are bent. Ants in kitchen! Switches in bedrooms do not operate table lamps. Bedroom lampshades full of dust. Living area shade doesn’t work very well. The internet was unstable. Several in our party were working and had to use hot spot instead. The place needed painting and corner chips repaired. The electricity went out twice, the second time for at least 10 hours. (They said the problem was related to an overall outage in the whole neighborhood, but that did not make sense. Property across from us was working AND we had two outlets working upstairs AND the garage door opener worked). The couch and chairs are uncomfortable with sagging cushions. The carpeting is uncomfortable on your feet and some of it was stripping off in master bedroom. Even with the issues, we enjoyed our time together as a family. We felt it was really overpriced with how beat up it is. In summary, we were not totally turned off from our experience, but we were not jumping at another opportunity. Jackson Family

Host / Beachview Realty - .5 Location to the beach - 4 Location to the pier and other stuff - 3.5 R

Room for parking - 1 Unit itself - 2.5 (3 ok sized bedrooms but very small kitchen and living room / dining area. Not enough room for 6 people). We were given 1 towel each, there was 1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and 1 extra roll. Overall experience - 1 Would NOT return nor recommend this rental. Further, although you are charged a cleaning fee upon renting you “will be threatened” with a FURTHER charge with the check-out email if you don’t clean yourself: You are told in the check-in email that the person who made the reservation MUST be the one to check-in and must present themself at the doorbell video camera, otherwise subject themself to eviction. Although I was there, and did that, I found this ridiculous. What if I was arriving later, on a different flight, got delayed in traffic, or some other event delaying my arrival? Why would my family not be allowed to legitimately enter. What if my delay was until late into the evening? Anyway, I got a call the next day from the property manager James (I think James) saying the doorbell mis-functioned and they wanted me to meet their service guy so they could fix it. I didn’t think of that as some emergency like a water leak, but was told it was mandatory, either allow the fix, AND, re-identify myself by the camera or present myself at their office, or be evicted. I was visiting friends in Malibu and couldn’t meet them until late in the evening so for the fix James demanded entry into the unit despite no one being in there. I was told either meet up, or give them access (empty unit or not) or be subject to eviction. Despite my protest, the threat remained so I gave them permission to enter. It was arranged to happen around 2 PM. I called at 3 PM and they weren’t there yet, but allegedly close. I asked to be notified when the job was complete and was told by an woman who came across as Jame’s assistant
.. “Certainly” . I was not notified if the camera was fixed thus was unsure if my attempt to re-identify myself was successful, so the next morning a caught went by their office to “check-in” before I headed out for the day. I didn’t want to worry about my family being hassled in my absence. I also have to wonder out loud why it wasn’t offered for them ti cone by to see me at my connivence as compared to my having to go to their office. Seems their problem became mine to shoulder the burden.

4 days in paradise

The location is great, only 4-5 houses from the beach, we could hear the waves crashing in. The home is dated but clean, the 4 car garage was plenty roomy for our 2 vehicles which included an upgrade to a Toyota 4 Runner from the car rental place, the other half of the tandem parking was unoccupied during our stay. The garage door remote wasn't working unless you pointed it directly at the control box, it wasn't an issue for us bc we walked or rode bikes everywhere and I'm sure that the mgmt. will address that problem. Btw, the bikes were waiting for us just as they said that they would be. Overall it was a wonderful visit to to a fantastic California beach, I highly recommend staying here.

The rugs and carpet in the main bed room was like walking on sand paper. The grill was unsafe to use -grates were held together with aluminum foil. The washing machine needs to be replaced. The place could use a through-all cleaning including washing the windows. Location was great!

Amazing stay

The house was amazing. A little bit on the older side but all in all got everything we needed. The location to the beach was literally a minute's walk. Got the chance meet the owners and they were just wonderful. Golden hour along the beach is a must and is beautiful. This was an amazing experience for our party. Our only regret was we didn't get the chance to do more on the boardwalk. We would definitely stay here again!

Had power issues for 3 days. Couldn’t do a dinner in and a breakfast due to power. Tv was also interrupted for my kids. TV’s should be changed to smart TV’s for better use. Towels are horrible. Almost like they wet picked up in the alley after someone threw them away. No back up toilet paper. Shower curtains didn’t slide very well and needs to be replaced with better functioning curtains. Need to add shutters or shades in living room for more evening privacy. Will not recommend this space and will not return. We come back twice a year.

About my stay

it was a nice house, people down stairs complained everytime I opened the garage and that was annoying. There was a noise neighbor on the side of the two bedroom and the homeowners needs to put blinds up on the front windows. But other then that, we all had a good time. Beach was close

If location is everything this is the place

First off the management is top notch and extremely helpful. Working with them was wonderful in every way. The home itself is really outdated and subpar at best. Old everything was given for us, towels , bedding and flat pillows. Beds where super uncomfortable. If your good that then you'll be fine, because you can walk to the beach. You'll have covered parking for two cars. We biked everywhere, and walked. No cars needed its so close to everything. Small ocean view from dinning room was nice to have also. I just like a little more comforts while on vacation.

Clean, comfortable and close to the beach! Everything we were looking for! The only issues were that the remote for the garage door didn't work and the TV/cable was a bit challenging to figure out. Pretty minor really! Otherwise perfect!

So hot in the house! Only 1 ceiling fan in master. Porch light broken. Not enough seating. Kitchen very sparse. No games, bikes ect. We rent every year in the area and choose a different location. The beach houses are always set up so you have the best time, in the house and on the beach. Games, books, toys fully stocked home. Condiments in kitchen. Lots of comfy seating. This house fell short in all those areas. One sofa and a metal bench. The location is wonderful. House is adorable but, you could do a lot more to make it comfortable and fun for the guests. Porch light being out wasn’t great. And it was SO HOT!!
