Amazing Villa View!

We had a great family vacations on Villa 4 lower Sunset Paradise!! The Villa was very clean and had all the needs to enjoy vacations. Even that you have to drive to go to the beach, it has an amazing view to the ocean!!

Beautiful place but some quirks

The place was perfect for us 5 couples. Some recommendations for the manager, when renting a 5 bedroom house you have to assume there is a lot of people staying so more then 1 towel per person would be needed for a week long stay. A Greek coffee maker is not sufficient and we went out and purchased one on the first day, asked the manager about it and low and behold in the storage of the house they had a 12 cup coffee maker. Our main complaint was lack of storage or drawers for us. O y one bedroom had drawers. My room only had two shelves and 1 hanger. You should have dressers in every bedroom and hangers. Minor adjustments are all that are needed but otherwise the place was just what we wanted.

Problems on top of problems and inaccurately unsafe description!

This review has been extremely compacted to satisfy the character limit. The only good thing about this property is its location, if you don't mind putting your family into a spartan camp situation, that is. Having read previous negative reviews, I contacted the owner 6 MONTHS prior to my stay and was reassured that all items have been fixed and are in good working order. The first thing that stands out is the number of permanent and weathered signs apologizing about the condition of the common areas while “management conducts repairs”. The rooftop deck was missing many floor tiles, light fixtures were hanging out of the wall by a thread of old wiring and there wasn't even a trash can or any convenience items to properly enjoy the area. The kitchen looked like someone took a bat to it, with doors literally hanging on single hinges and other doors missing completely! The microwave was visibly crooked and looked like it was about to drop. We kept our little ones away from the kitchen. No hot water for 3 days, patio light switch caught fire and shorted out the lights in one of the bedrooms and a bathroom, barely-there wi-fi unsuitable for any remote work, rusted and dilapidated grill, etc. Every time the staff washed the deck upstairs, we had a flood in the patio area, which was the key factor in booking this property in the first place, rendering it absolutely unusable! Expected so much more for $600 per night but didn’t even get the basics and put the whole family at risk!

Renters BEWARE: This is a total scam

Renters BEWARE: On March 26, 2019, my family checked into this Villa. We immediately felt apprehensive when we noticed the slick tile in the patio area. From a far, it looked very slick and upon closer inspection, you can clearly see that it is wet from ocean spray. Additionally, the wall that separates the balcony from the water is only 2-3 feet tall. Anyone could slip and fall over. To further exemplify this concern, my two year old daughter fell outside. Additionally, we had a senior citizen and pregnant woman in our party who we feared would also fall. We felt that this presented a serious safety risk that we were not willing to assume, and should not have been expected to. I called the owner about 20 minutes after the incident (about 5PM) and he directed me to contact the building manager. I called her immediately after and she stated that the wet floor was common. I cannot stress the safety hazard this presents. I immediately called the owner back and left a voicemail because he did not answer. I called numerous times since and received no response. Instead, a few hours after the initial call, someone came by and brought two 4’ x 2’ rugs that barely cover any part of the floor in the balcony/patio area. I had no option but to remain in the Villa with my family because of his unresponsiveness. This is not to mention the fact that any time prior that I was able to get ahold of him, he was extremely rude and dismissive. I told him that I would be reviewing this stay throughly and he then threatened to have me blocked as a renter altogether. For future renters: Take all the good reviews with a grain of salt. There is NO sand. Hurricane Maria wiped whatever beach was there away and it is not coming back anytime soon. Do not let anything stated in his promotional materials sway you any other way. If you pay very close attention, one of the reviewers isn’t even a customer! It is actually his daughter, who is listed on the property as a manager.

We are oceanfront property and due to the proximity of the ocean to the property, from time to time the patio does become damp from the ocean mist. As soon as our staff was made aware of the issue of the dampness on the patio they responded immediately and provided you with mats for the floor. Our staff remains diligent to be responsive to the needs of all our guests and on a daily basis will check in to ensure your stay with us is comfortable and address any issues that may arise. The following is part of the daily requests you gave to our staff. Carlos met the following requests. Guests called for 2 extra pillows and 1 Sheet. Guests called wet floor, same day went to give her 2 rugs (covered the floor). Guests called for extra propane gas. Carlos went and took one grill away as they had gone next door and removed a grill from another villa without authorization (they wanted two grills). Guests called for batteries. Guests called as rooftop pool lights would not turn ON (burned out bulb). To give them an extra cooler (they had broken the handle). Guests called for more rugs and towels which we provided Guests. Guests called patio was too dark Carlos went over and put a lamp. Grizel did the following requests. Guests called to get door codes (it was in her paperwork). Guests called to ask to move van parked in front of "her" Villa 4 (we do not have assigned parking). Guests called for extra bath and beach towels, many times. Guests called and asked for 1 extra pillow, 1 more sheet and a warm blanket for her baby. Guests called many times for fresh sheets for the beds (done once during a stay). Both Arelys and Grizel: did extra cleaning as requested but normally we do not provide daily cleaning. I understand you contacted your charge card company you used to pay for this vacation. Currently all the charges have been reversed. The charge card company said that you had told them we had “overbooked” and turned you away! You went on to say you never stayed with us and had to find other accommodations. That is obviously TOTALLY UNTRUE! We did provide you with the services for almost two weeks and continued to ensure your needs listed above were met. You can not have it BOTH ways “never stayed with us” and “had a bad stay with us”. We are always accommodating to our guests but It appears you are being DISHONEST and WILL LIE and SAY ANYTHING so you can get an almost two week free stay!

My family and I loved the location; however, we had several disappointments. The internet access was nonexistent, there was no hot or warm water most of the stay. The bedroom on the outer deck to the left leaked from the hot tub above once guest got into in. The bedroom on the outer deck to the right could use double pain doors because the noise was too loud. The deck roof leaked once the guest upstairs got into the hot tub, creating a slippery unsafe patio and uncomfortable to be outdoors. Imagine that at a beach front property. There were not enough towels, for the number of days we were at the property. The pillows were uncomfortable and insufficient. The listing stated if you rented the property for 3 or more nights there was a 10% discount. We rented for 5 nights and there was no discount granted, instead I was jerked around from property owner to VRBO office and so on so forth, still no resolve. The property manager responded when called upon, however some issues were never addressed, and the was the worst of them for the guest staying in the bedroom with the leak. The owners need to take constructive criticism seriously because these issues can cause serious injury to guest.

Excellent Getaway

The home was nice, spacious, and clean. There were a lot of nice amenities like the outdoor space, showers, bathrooms, oceanside rooms, and communal pool. The AC wasn't quite working in our kitchen common space, but we didn't report that to the owners when we arrived and by the time we noticed, we were just a night away from leaving. The lights could've been brighter in the house as well. But overall, a very pleasant and nice stay. Easy and convenient location as well.

Birthday Getaway

Our experience was nice. The property served its purpose. The air conditioning in the rooms was cold, the kitchen well stocked, and the common space was comfortable. The location was not walkable to downtown Rincon. The pool was separate from our villa - the photos made it seem as if the rooms had community access to the pool and common area - which was not the case. The pool was quite small and located in a different building. All in all - it suited our needs and we were comfortable for the cost.

Native to Puerto Rico, Jose Luis Quiñones the owner of Sunset Paradise Villas has been passionate about the Ocean since his early age as a Surfer in Toa Baja. Naturally born a business man, Jose Luis started his first business as a teenager building and confecting customized surf boards for Surfers from all over the Island. As an entrepreneur, being always true to his passion, the young Quiñones moved closed to the beach in the early 2000 to develop the first Surfers House in the Island’s North Shore in Vega Alta and Isabela, the first “All Inclusive Surfing Tour in Puerto Rico”. Shortly after, he developed La Villa in Aguada, a successful vacation rental property where he welcomed travelers from all over the world.

Always evolving and keeping up with the trends of the Market, in mid 2020 José Luis had the opportunity to acquire Sunset Paradise Villas, an exclusive private property in a privilege location, directly on the water in the beautiful town of Rincón. From renovations to the Villas accommodations and designs to the selection of water sports equipment and programs launched for all guests, the new owner came quickly to transform the Sunset Paradise Villas to offer a World Class experience for guests of all ages.

We offer flexibility in accommodations to fit your needs and every one of our eight units has a patio facing the ocean. Relax and enjoy stunning sunsets, with the ocean right outside your door and the private rooftop pool and lounge area, or you might choose to snorkeling, boogie board, surf, paddle board or kayak all available for rent. In the Western tip of Puerto Rico, there is a piece of paradise so vibrant and so colorful, in a privileged location you will find Sunset Paradise Villas, a unique Oceanfront Property, and one of the Best Beach Villas in Rincón, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

Our 8 accommodations range from a one-bedroom unit for a couple, to units for 4, 6, 8 and 10 guests. With a total accommodation of 50 Guests. And events venue with room for up to 100 people.

Rincón is also known as the Surfing Capital of the Caribbean and the City of Beautiful Sunsets.

For transportation, it is advisable to rent a car, which will make it easier to travel the most distant parts of Rincón in a short time. Walking distances could be long.

The property is located from downtown about 5 minutes by car and about 30 minutes walking.

To the lighthouse and the surfing beaches it can take 11 minutes by car and more than an hour walking.

For those who are enthusiastic about the sport of surfing, Rincón has excellent beaches that produce world-class waves. The wave season starts in October and ends in April.

In Rincón we enjoy very good gastronomy, art and culture.

Rincón has different offer of bars and restaurants, and tour operators for horseback riding, hiking, visiting waterfalls, agriculture, surfing lessons, sailing, and more.
