Unsere 3 Schlafzimmer, 2. 5 Bad Wohnung (Einheit 3) befindet sich im Sitzmark Gebäude des Purgatory Resort und bietet Komfort in allen Jahreszeiten. Dies ist ein echtes Ski-In / Ski-Out-Resort direkt am Fuße einer der beliebtesten Pisten des Purgatory, Lower Hades. Fahren Sie morgens mit dem Highspeed-Sixpack ab und fahren Sie am Nachmittag bis zur Tür. Im Frühling, Sommer und Herbst befinden sich Mountainbike- und Wanderwege auf der anderen Seite der Eingangstür.

Die Wohnung wurde 2018 einschließlich aller neuen Geräte umgestaltet und bietet viel Platz und einen offenen Grundriss. Die Wohnung verfügt auch über überdachte Parkplätze an der Einheit, Waschmaschine und Trockner, WIFI und ein Gasgrill. Die große Terrasse bietet eine großartige Aussicht und viel Platz im Freien zum abhängen.

The home was very nice and comfortable. We’ve stayed at Purgatory several times and absolutely love the area. As others have mentioned, this is not truly a ski-in/ski-out property. You can walk up and down the hill behind the condo to reach a slope, but that’s about it. On our first day the area was pretty muddy and wet, although it did snow a bit later and covered it somewhat. During our stay we chose to walk down the road to the lift rather than hike up and down the hill. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but if you’re specifically looking for a true ski-in/ski-out location, you may want to consider a different option.

Great ski in ski out

We loved the gorgeous view from the condo and the large windows looking out to the forest. Ski right into the back door from the ski slopes and walked about 100 ft to a run that took us to lift 1. Loved that.

Comfy stay

Nice view, comfortable townhome! Not exactly ski in, ski out but yes you can hike in hike out easily enough. Also, hot tub is not included. Overall very nice. 👍

The easiest ski in / ski out access to the main ski base area is via the Yellow Brick Road ski run (green/catwalk) that runs behind the Sitzmark complex. Go down the driveway, turn left behind the next building. 1.5 minute walk. The Purgatory Ski Resort does charge a 4% Resort Fee (on top of their baseline 4% Resort Fee) to access the Durango Mountain Club amenities (pool, hot tub & gym amenities). Excellent stay

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Everything was clean and there was plenty of space for our family of 6. We would recommend adding some grease to the door hinges as they were very squeaky. But that’s an easy fix. Overall, this cabin was great and we enjoyed our time.

Great place

This property was very well stocked and super clean. We enjoyed our stay very much. The "ski-in-ski-out" is not super accurate. We had to gear up and hike up to the Lower Hades run. It only took 5 minutes but does not constitute a ski in and ski out.

There is plenty of space and the beds are comfortable (we had a few 20 year olds that slept in the bunks). The kitchen is well stocked and makes it easy for you to cook meals, but there are a few fun options for eating out in the area too. It’s definitely not a ski in ski out, but if you rent a locker for your gear it’s super easy to walk back and forth. Great communication with VRC as well.

I may have missed how many steps and ADA lack there was.

Just to make note, there are a lot of steps. 5-6 steps just to enter. Bottom floor accommodations were nice. To get to the second /main floor there were about 17 steps total. The first set of steps no handrail. We have elderly parents so the main floor with the king bed is where they stayed. Otherwise, the stay was very nice.

The location given was actually the location of the Sitzmark 10, which is in a slightly better location for skiing in and out. The only other complaint is that the dishwasher only ran on cold water.

You could have been looking at the wrong access point of how the property is ski in ski out. For the future the trail of Lower Hades - is just steps from the condo. Ski down to the high-speed six pack in the morning, and ski right back in the afternoon. We also hope that you would have reached out to us regarding this during your stay. We also hope that you let us know about the dishwasher issue and only running cold water, as we could of looked into this further for you as well. We hope to see you back again in the near future.

Ski weekend

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay in this unit was really nice. The unit is a great size and laid out nicely. I would suggest a place for ski's and boots on the lower level as we didn't really want to lean them against the walls. Some instruction on the thermostat's would be helpful as well. It isn't really a ski in or out unit and a good walk to the lifts but over all this is a well stocked, clean and maintained unit.

There is a ski run behind the Sitzmark buildings that is a short walk from the condo that takes you straight to the bottom of lift 1 but you are correct you can't ski just right up to your door. We just want guests to know how close it is to the slopes. It was such a pleasure to host you and we hope you come stay with VRC again soon!

Christmas Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental was fantastic. It was just a bit of a walk to the lifts but not too far. We never had to get the car our unless we headed into Durango. It was clean and equipped with all the things we needed to cook. There were extra pillows and blankets if needed. A small fan. We started a fire in the fireplace every evening and grilled steaks on the propane grill. First time skiing for my family and it was an excellent stay. I highly recommend this rental!

Not a true ski in ski out

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was clean and had everything we needed. The management was very helpful, there was no crockpot in the condo so they did bring us a brand new one when I called. My only complaint was this was not a ski in ski out property as described. I ride a ski bike so it's very heavy so having a true ski in/ski out property was impairment. This property requires you to walk several blocks on icy roads both getting to the ski lift area and getting back down to the condo. You're better off driving over and parking in the lot.

There actually is access to a ski run that goes right to the base of Lift 1 located behind the condo building. Please always call us and we are happy to help you find it! Nice Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A lot to like about this one. Clean and comfortable with spacious living area. Pretty views. Adequately stocked kitchen and hot showers. Good HVAC controls. Comfortable beds. Would be nice if there were a ski rack in the entry hall. A new grill might be needed and a supply of fire starters should be included. FYI, this is not a ski in, ski out unit and in my opinion should not be marketed as such. I know other units that are not do the same, but if you stay here you should expect to hike a couple hundred yards to get on and off the slopes. But overall it's a nice unit and I think fairly priced and I would rent from them again.

Good Location & Layout

The location of the condo was great for lodge & ski activity access. The layout of the townhouse was very good for an extended family. Also the layout of the master bedroom & bath was very nice. Other bedroom sizes were ample. However, lighting in bedrooms as an issue. In the bunk room, lack of lighting was an issue, The lamps provided had extension cords running across the room creating potential for an accident. (I changed the tall lamp used, moved it closer to an outlet to reduce cordage, and plugged it in on far side of lower bunkbed. Not ideal but better.) In the 2nd bedroom downstairs, light switches did not work and it was hard to find lamp switches in the dark. The living & dining room/kitchen combination was large and comfortable. Note: The heating element in the dishwasher did not work and water in dishwater was cold whenever checked. All dishes and utensils came out of dishwasher with an unclean appearance ....if not well rinsed before, came out dirty. A thorough cleaning under beds, etc. would be helpful.

However, we apologize for the issues you encountered with the lighting in the bedrooms. Your safety is our top priority, and we'll promptly address the situation to ensure that proper lighting is installed to prevent accidents. Additionally, we'll investigate the malfunctioning light switches in the second bedroom downstairs to ensure they are promptly repaired. Regarding the dishwasher, we're sorry to hear that the heating element was not functioning properly, resulting in cold water and dishes coming out with an unclean appearance. We'll have our maintenance team inspect and resolve this issue immediately to ensure our guests have a seamless experience. Not a Ski-In, Ski-Out

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an ok time, but had some issues. There was white dog hair everywhere in the living area. There is no door on the master bathroom so the bedroom is open to the toilet and glass shower. The downstairs bedrooms were dirty with visible trash in multiple places. The house is at the far edge of the village, so you walk the furthest to ski from this house than the other rentals (the map and pics are misleading if you've never been to Purgatory before). The dishwasher only runs cold water, which explains why every dish in the house was very dirty. According to the texts they sent me, the owner expects you to bring your own dishwasher detergent and starter logs for the fire, so plan accordingly. And, whoever responds to text questions refused to help 3x when we had requests/questions and simply gave a worthless response. I would bet they live in another state. There is NO skiing out from this house. You walk or drive at least 5 minutes to ski.

Thanks for your feedback. We have addressed the cleaning issues with the cleaner. As noted in the information provided prior to arrival, we provide a starter set of supplies (couple days worth) which will not last for an entire week so guest can plan accordingly. The townhome is adjacent to the Yellow Brick Road ski run (green) which takes you to the main base area. There is no need to walk or drive to the main base area - simply use the Yellow Brick Road ski trail. Our entire Guest Services team lives in Durango or surrounding communities and some are even 2nd and 3rd generation.
