Heraklion Archaeological Museum (2km): one of the most important museums in Greece, it houses artifacts from the Minoan civilization, including frescoes, pottery, and jewelry. Historical Museum of Crete: this museum offers exhibits from the early Christian era to the modern times, including Byzantine artifacts, Venetian artworks, and contemporary pieces. Koules Fortress (2km): explore this Venetian fortress located at the entrance of the old harbor, which offers panoramic views of the city and the sea.
