At Saint Martin Rentals, our staff is dedicated to making your stay the best as possible. Once you book, you will receive a welcome book with property information, recommendations and list of activities you can book with your concierge.
Note: When you book, VRBO will charge you their service fee. Then we will receive your booking and we will proceed to the payment of the rental + taxes on the same credit card. A credit card hold of $300 will be made on your card the day before check-in for security deposit. This amount will not be debited from your account unless there are damages. A cleaning fee of minimum $400 up to $1500 will be charged if house has be treated for smoke doors. - Malfunctioning equipment or issues must be reported immediately. The repairman may enter the premises for purposes related to the repair or maintenance of the property. - Internet, phone, cable, water, and electricity are managed by third providers. Saint Martin Rentals will not be held liable in case of shortages in service. If a problem occurs, it will promptly be reported to the provider. no refunds or adjustments will be made. - Each guest will be jointly financially responsible for negligent and malicious/intentional damage done to the property. Guest(s) shall be responsible for the costs of replacing lost keys. There will be a minimum charge of $350 for lost keys. - Saint Martin Rentals will not be held liable for forgotten objects or items left on site and will not beat the cost of eventual return. - Parties are not allowed on premises, unless agreed with property manager. A FINE OF $700 will be charged to Guest Credit Card in case of party not approved or excessive noise after 9:30 PM. Please be considerate of the neighbors, do not make excessive noise during the night. - Our upstairs neighbor has a right of way through our terrace to the beach, please allow them passage (they have the key). - Please use caution to enter the ocean. It is strictly forbidden to jump from the terrace into the water.

Great getaway
Enjoyed our time in this VRBO. The management was responsive and the location was close to everything. Being able to wake up and be on the beach was awesome. Good food close by as well. Really enjoyed ourselves hopefully we can come back again

St Maarten Review
We totally enjoyed our stay at the Hamaka Condo. The place was spotless and clean, convenient, on the beach...literally, very well equipped, comfortable, parking was right at the condo, good a/c, etc. The pros way outweighed any minor cons. The Secret Seafood House a couple doors down was also very good. Our initial impression of the neighborhood worried us a little. Narrow alley-like road with lots of construction and a few abandoned cars. However, everyone we met on the street was friendly and welcoming and within an hour we felt totally comfortable. That also kept the area fairly quiet as it was not a heavily traveled road. The beach directly out of the condo is a bit narrow (about 15 feet or 3.5 meters or so depending on the tide), but that made the water really close too, and the sound of the surf was really nice. The patio had four very comfortable lounge chairs and we spent plenty of time relaxing on them listening to the surf and watching truly magnificent sunsets. Caution needs to be taken on the patio as it is tile and with wet feet can be rather slippery. The condo has two camper chairs that can be taken to the beach or loaded into the trunk of a car to travel to other beaches, but a couple of inexpensive beach chair would be a good addition. The lounge chairs on the patio were very comfortable, but probably too heavy to drag to the beach. Overall, we were extremely happy with the accommodations and would highly recommend the place. We hope to return.

Extremely Dissapointed
We reserved the entire month of July. After a couple of days of multiple power blackouts per day (each blackout lasting up to 10 hours) we decided we had to leave. Beyond it being extremely uncomfortable the lack of electricity made simple things like preparing meals and keeping things from spoiling was almost impossible. This represented a serious risk.
The earliest available flight back to the states that we could book required us to stay 7 days. Thus we had to endure a week of this.
This was not the only problem we had with this property. The beach in front of the property we were renting was dangerous, unattractive and had a bad odor. There were many large sharp life-threatening pieces of metal on the beach. When we asked the property manager to send someone to remove the metal and clean the beach, they refused saying the beach is not their responsibility. The back deck is ant infested. When sitting on a chair on the back deck you will soon have ants crawling on you.

Again, we are truly sorry to hear about your your experience at our unit. This is absolutely not representative of the typical experiences our guests have, but your stay unfortunately coincided with two significant and unforeseen events.
Firstly, our island's power plant suffered a fire a few weeks before your arrival. What was initially expected to be resolved in a matter of days extended resulting in daily two-hour outages. Outside of these scheduled, the island does have electricity (multiple 11 hr outages?).
Secondly, the day before your arrival, Hurricane Beryl passed through the southern Caribbean arc. Although the event occurred hundreds of miles south, our beach was hit with heavy waves and swell that brought debris and seaweed ashore. This required extensive cleanup efforts that exceeded the capacity of humans This was an extraordinary act of nature, and many other beaches, protected from the direct impact, did not experience such effects.
In light of these exceptional circumstances, we made the decision to fully reimburse you for your stay, despite the financial strain this placed on us. We hope this gesture demonstrates our commitment to our guests' satisfaction and our understanding of the inconvenience you faced.
We sincerely hope you consider giving Sint Maarten another chance. This was a rare coincidence of unfortunate events, not reflective of the usual serene and enjoyable experience we strive to provide.
