Step into Santa Barbara’s most desirable beach neighborhood. The Mesa is filled with classic cottages perched on a downward slope overlooking beach cliffs and the Pacific Ocean. You’ll be perfectly situated next to the Douglas Family Preserve (also known as the Wilcox Property) which has lovely walking trails next to the ocean. There’s also a path down to Hendry’s Beach and nearby steps that lead down to Mesa Lane Beach. Walk a few more blocks to experience The Mesa neighborhood’s organic grocery store, artisanal coffee shop, burger eatery owned by a famous chef, and several other restaurants to satisfy your hunger.

This 3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom beachy home has been fully renovated with classic and tasteful finishes. You’ll enjoy 1,100 square feet of a large spacious Kitchen that leads into the Dining Area. Each Bedroom is fully equipped with luxury linens to accommodate ultimate relaxation. The Bathrooms have also been recently upgraded to spa-like quality. The comfortable Living Room is perfect for afternoon naps featuring a sliding door that leads into the backyard. A stone patio offers additional dining space to smell the sea air and dine under the stars.

Adorable house, great location!

We stayed with family and this house had everything we needed and more! Cute yard, super clean and such a cute house. Well appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Easy to get to and just a quick drive to the beach.

XMAS holiday

Fantastic location and spectacular property to spend the holiday. The inside is cozy throughout along with a well stocked kitchen. The outside gardens are stunning, and a treat to regularly see hummingbirds. Daily walks to the Preserve and beach can’t be beat!

Great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Loved that it's all nice and new and clean. The outdoor space is great. It's in lovely quiet neighborhood, very close to a good grocery store and some nice restaurants and shops. Also a quick drive to Santa Barbara center. Hope to come back!

Santa Barbara Getaway

I was looking for a clean and convenient rental in SB. Barefoot Retreat was perfect! Convenient location for walks, coffee. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of room for five adults. Easy check in and check out. A wonderful place to celebrate a milestone birthday!

Great, convenient home to stay

Property was clean and comfortable. Big kitchen complete with all the cooking utensils you would need. Plenty of dishware, glassware, and utensils for a large group. Beds were all queens and comfortable. Nice linens were supplied as well. We were 4 adults and one toddler and had plenty of space. The outdoor area in back is nice and private with seating and garden to enjoy.

Gorgeous property great location

Our family of four stayed here. Kids are 14 and 11. The house is beautiful, very clean, bedding was so comfortable. We greatly enjoyed our stay. The location was great we were able to walk to the beach and also take a quick Uber into town. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. We were there during a very hot spell and much appreciated that the house provided fans. Everything was perfect we would absolutely stay again!

Wonderful little house in SB!

We had a fabulous week at this sweet house. It was very clean and well organized with plenty of supplies for our stay. It was walking distance to the Mesa stairs and the beach as well as the Douglas Preserve. The gift basket on the counter when we arrived was full of the most delicious goodies we have ever tried. The entire family was happy. We hope to return someday.

Great vaca home

This turned out to be a really good rental. I previously lived in S.B., but not on the mesa - but it turns out that the mesa is a really good location for a vacation home as it's beautiful and easy to get to anywhere. Some other good features of this house: - Really clean. Nice open space for people to hang out. - Easy walk to the Douglas Family Preserve to take strolls with views. - Easy access to Von's and Lazy Acres markets. - Nice backyard to hang out. We would definitely want to rent this home again.

Santa Barbara visitors

This is a perfect home for a family to visit the Santa Barbara area. The noise curfew was a bit early being 9pm but we had all adults so it wasn't a problem for us. We were fortunate to have the perfect weather also. We enjoyed your home. Thank you for opening it up to us.

Great Home

We have a lovely stay at this house in Mesa. It was spacious with a nice outdoor space. It was relatively close to all things Santa Barbara. The only feedback is that the host was not responsive. I tried to reach out prior to our. stay and during our stay and never received messages back.

Trio of Sisters

Extremely easy to locate and check in. The kitchen had plenty of glasses, cookware, etc WITH a good wine corkscrew. Linens were clean and comfy. We did have to leave a message for the property manager as a number of the window screens had holes which allows insect inside. We cover the holes with their conveniently provided tape. The place had a few cob webs and the back patio by the fire pit had not been blow. I’d use them again because the place was comfortable and nicely decorated with relatively new appliances.

SB Getaway

Met my son and his family for a birthday getaway. Management contact was very responsive to my questions. House is in nice neighborhood and short drive to points of interest in SB. Bedrooms are very small but enjoyed backyard patio to sit and relax in afternoon. Kitchen was well equipped. As mentioned in another review, rooms could get warm. Luckily weather was milder when we visited. Overall good experience but wouldn't want to deal with hot house and no airflow in heat of summer.

Labor Day Family Weekend

Labor Day weekend would have been a wonderful weekend, but the heat was unbearable in this house. There is only 1 fan and the house stayed around 88-92 degrees even at night with all doors and windows open. There are no blinds in the kitchen or dining area to try and keep the heat out. We virtually had to stay away from the house as long as possible because of how hot it was, which was unfortunate for the elderly parents. The backyard is nice, but unsure of how to turn the lights on and no instructions, so we didn’t get to sit out there at night when it was cooler. The house is a Decent location to the small Mesa beach 0.4 ish miles (If you have people who are in good shape to walk up and down a few hundred stairs it is fine). We were with elderly parents and they were unable to walk the stairs to the beach. That was disappointing. The house was very clean though and the furnishings were nice. We would only stay in this house again if it were during winter months. If you like to sleep comfortably in a cool environment this is not the house for you.
