Hi Phillip, I'm glad that you liked the house and the location because at the end of the day that is what you're booking :) If you needed extra time at the property you should have booked an extra night, as you saw when you arrived early the cleaning hadn't been finished and yes cleaning is of paramount importance in this industry otherwise you would have also complained about that. Each property has an amenities list that you can check before booking and as you mentioned it sounded like you didn't have any time to use soap or shampoo anyway so lucky it wasn't there otherwise you wouldn't have had enough time for your water! I used to provide these things but unfortunately guests just complain about the amount or branding of them so I don't advertise providing them as per the amenities list. All of my properties are within walking distance to the shops if you need to purchase something. I did also explain to you 4 times before your arrival the check in and check out times were not able to be changed but you decided to proceed anyway and still showed up early. So please have some respect for your hosts in your future bookings as we try very hard to accommodate everyone but it is impossible to please 100% of people 100% of the time. Check in and check out times are also listed on the properties before booking and you would see that a lot of properties are actually check in at 4pm to allow cleaning companies more time between change overs to do multiple listings.

Hello David, I'm very surprised to see this and sorry that it was below your expectations. I have found during my time hosting that it is impossible to please 100%of people 100% of the time. I live in this property every week so i know all the ins and outs of it so it would have been very easy to help you with your issues. I was very surprised to check my messages, phone calls and emails to see that you didn't actually contact me at all during your stay of 6 nights at all to mention any of these things. I specifically said to you before you arrive "If you have any problems I would prefer you to contact me to let me know so I can try and rectify the problem during your stay :)" You didn't contact me at all so that's very disappointing and a but unfair to me considering your poor review. You came in the middle of December which is summer time in Australia, the pilot light on the fireplace is off, if i leave it on guests turn it off themselves during their stay so i leave it off now. its very easy to turn on if you needed to use it you just had to ask me. BBQ cleaning isn't included, it's too hard to maintain, its up to the guests, it's specified in the ad and the alternative is to not have a BBQ. The dryer works it's just a heat pump dryer it takes 8 hours to dry anything that's the technology, I use it every week that I'm there. The lights on the range hood don't work no but they haven't since the house has been built and it's not critical to your cooking experience as there are other kitchen lights, it's not dark and still visible. I was aware of 2 lamp shades that are no longer stuck down, I'm not sure how they are dangerous the shade just falls over if you touch it, you just put it back up again and if you don't touch the shades then it doesn't fall down. The maintenance guy had previously just stuck them back on with tape but it sounds like it didn't work I will have to sort out another solution. The shower taps are all screw ins, if it wasn't screwed in it's very easy to screw back in, you just had to contact me sometime during your 6 day stay. There are photos of all showers in the advertising, no I don't have shelves, if I did have them you probably would of complained they were to big and dangerous and took up too much space in the shower. In the future if you have any problems I would suggest just contacting the host to let them know so can rectify your issues rather than just writing a bad review about them.
