Very unique, fun rental space. Lots of room for multiple people. Parking was great. House well supplied for all your needs. Close walk to bars and food. Host communicated very well and was very accommodating.

Host was very responsive to questions/concerns. The kitchen was rather well equipped for the smaller meals we prepared while there. The laundry facilities, which are just down the street we're not needed, but nice to know it was available. You could here creaking at night from the upstairs ap't, but generally wasn't bad. Nice to have two bathrooms.. Loved the bar areas/games available to us.

The property is an old (Centennial Building) storefront that has had a kitchen and bedrooms added within it. The floor is, understandably, uneven in spots and creeks when walked upon. The bedrooms were tastefully decorated, with platform and mattress beds, that are fairly comfortable. The kitchen was decently stocked with utensils and cookware, but there was evidence of a lack of attention by the cleaning crew. The microwave was dirty and there was mess left behind from previous tenants. The furniture in the living space is recycled furniture that has served it's time. I will applaud the fact that all of the smartTVs are already logged into many different apps for your convenience.Overall, there were pluses and minuses to this property, and there are many things that could be better. It sits under 6 other apartments, that you hear very little from. I will not stay here again because it is a large space, but I wouldn't discourage groups to stay there.Also, Vernon is a very responsive property owner.

We very much enjoyed our stay here at South Range. We had ample room to spread out, enjoyed the location, and enjoyed the array of activities the host had available to us.

Super spacious! Super responsive and helpful host! Comfy beds. Wonderfully unique set up, lots of character. Very quiet! Great rockhounding base.

Trail side place to stay

This was perfect for a group of guys before going up to Mt Bohemia! We enjoyed the open space and bar!

We loved the unique spot that had so much history! Loved how spacious it was and the location in a small town, minutes from Houghton. The place was clean and ready to go. The host had maps with suggested areas to check out. We were not on a snowmobile or SxS trip, but the location is perfect for the trails in the area!

First vacation

The loft was a great spot for our stay. More then enough room and the owners are very nice. Definitely plan to rent here again next year.

Thank you for staying with us! We do have a couple other properties for you to check out also and if you bring your kids, the Sandy Hollow Lakefront Vacation Home is the perfect spot for families. Kayaks, paddleboat, fire pit with wood. Lots of fun. Thanks again!

Great Stay for Snowmobiling

Accomodations were great for our group of snowmobilers. We were able to park 2 trucks and trailers in the parking area. Shelving right inside the door was handy for organizing gear. Open floor plan and bar was great. Would stay again!

This stay was interesting but great! So I am extremely picky. My number one concern is cleanliness. Upon checking I was amazed at how big this place was! Our kids were pumped! I don’t think I realized the exact type of place we were staying in. Definitely a refinished business/historic building. Super cool and unique. I do wish it was cleaner overall (floor and furniture) BUT the bedrooms were pretty clean, bedding was very clean, bathroom (we only used the bigger bathroom) was clean and those were the things that mattered most! We created so many great memories here! I would say it is best for a group of guys but even as a mom with three kids staying there it ended up being great!

Great place!

Stayed one night to ride snowmobile up the keweenaw. Fantastic location, literally ON the trail. Great bars down the block. Hosts were very communicative and friendly. Clean place with tons of space to hang out. Nice use of an old building with cool history. Will be back!

Spacious

We stayed here while in town for our daughter’s wedding. The reception was right across the street at the Fire Hall. Obviously the location couldn’t have been any better! We had our 7 mo old grandson also and when he was fussy we had plenty of space to push him around in his stroller. Vern was a great host, very quick to respond to questions!

All said it done it was a great location, many things to do at the property itself to stay busy (games and wifi with tv.) and lots to do in the surrounding areas. Host was attentive and kind. They stock the house with most of what you need and its good quality items. (Bed linen, toiletries, paper towel ect) Its a repurposed building so it definitely has it quirks. But nothing you wouldn't expect by looking through the listing. If i had any cons it would be that the weekend we stayed it seemed to be a bit of a rougher crowd. Don't know if it was other vacationers or locals but there were a couple loud fights coming from bars and people using excessive speeding up and down the road. I definitely wouldn't say that affected my trip any, would still stay again.
