Exceptional log home situated on Lake Superior down a private road on the beautiful and historic Keweenaw Peninsula. Just 10 miles to Houghton and Hancock, it’s the perfect gateway to the natural wonders of historic “Copper Country”. For the adventurous, enjoy hiking, waterfalls, mountain biking or rent an ATV and experience the almost unlimited trails that the UP has to offer.

I had mentioned this after our last stay there needs to be a wagon handy for hauling wood, blankets, flashlights & adult beverages to the lake’s edge for a picnic or bonfire.When we were loading the car to leave (just before 11:00), housekeeping staff (actually a young girl) reminded us that they needed to get in to set up for the next guests. We KNEW checkout time & were on it. No need for the pushAgain, we marveled at your perfect setting & lovely rental.

Cabin@Sunset Place is truly exceptional. Forget the magnificent view of Lake Superior (although we couldn't get enough of it) as this cabin is spacious, well-appointed, with all the features and style that one would expect. The amenities everything a visitor would need and Michael has thought of everything – including all the fixings for s’mores! Unfortunately, it was too windy to enjoy a campfire on the beach. We originally booked the cabin for three nights and are so happy we were able to extend our stay one additional day…it was well worth it. We are already thinking of our next trip to the UP and would definitely stay here again. Communications with Michael were prompt and thorough. Five Stars! Thank you.

Our family stayed in this beautiful log home for a week. The home itself fits seamlessly in its surroundings and the view of Lake Superior was superb. The access to the beach allowed beautiful kayaking opportunities as well as beach fires in wonderful Adirondack chairs to relax watching stunning sunsets followed by dark skies, shooting stars and a surprise northern lights show. The accommodations are wonderful with the best well thought out amenities we’ve ever experienced; spices, oils, tools for cooking and mixing cocktails. The list could go on and on but I think you get the picture. A great place to base out of while exploring the beautiful pinnensula. Thanks Mike for your great place!

We had the best weekend at this property! It was absolutely beautiful, both the cabin and the view. It was very clean and well cared for. The check in directions were super simple and the host was great with communication. This house was also the most stocked and prepared property I have ever stayed at. I don’t expect anything when staying at a rental but this house had everything you could think of that you might need! We were so sad to leave and can’t wait to go back!

I cannot say enough great things about our stay at this home. Host was great about communications ahead of the trip. We had a welcome basket of s’more supplies waiting for us, which our kids promptly devoured. House was spacious and clean. Kitchen was well stocked with foil, wraps, baggies, and needed spices. Coffee machine was stocked with initial supply of coffee, and the kitchen utensils were high quality. Two pro tips – Turn on Wi-Fi calling on your phone if you have no service. Grab a bag of ice in town and place it in the icemaker in the freezer. I’m not sure when we will be back to the Keweenaw again, but if we do we will 100% stay at this property.

Phenomenal property and host! We spent 9 weeks here from Feb-April, and believe it or not it was a dream winter stay! Lake Superior is a woman of so many faces, and to see her from deep winter through her Spring thaw was so incredible. This log cabin was so well equipped, and so comfortable for this amazing adventure. Highlights were warm fires in the stunning fireplace and walks on the lake in the snow or sand. Great neighbors. Some small things.1. There is a cabinet in the master bedroom that houses a TV. The cabinet doors don't close properly and they make noise when walking near the cabinet.2. We had the bring our own shampoo, conditioner, and bath soap. Seemed troublesome. We expected everything to be in the house; just like you would find in a hotel.3. The bath towels were scratchy and nor soft.4. Shower is small. I'm 6'-0", 270lbs and it was difficult to bend over in the shower.5. Shower could use a volume control valve at the showerhead so you can minimize water spray when you don't need or want it. The shower is too small to get away from the spray.6. There was a light out over the mirror in the master bedroom bathroom.7. Not enough lighting in the great room without having the bright overhead ceiling lights on. Simplest idea is to change the ceiling light switch to a dimmer switch.8. TV in the great room was too small for the room. Sitting 12'-15' away from the TV requires at least a 65" TV.9. Path down to the beach is overgrown and should be cut back.Some great things:1. Great location on Lake Superior. Great sunsets. That was worth the price of rental. 2. Wonderful seating around the firepit and near the beach.3. Not a lot of traffic on the road. Quiet.

Our stay was great, the home was beautiful, the cubbies were perfect for our snow gear and there was plenty of wood for the fire, we stayed in January with low teen temps and had mass snow fall which was perfect for our snowmobile plans. The road/drive was consistently plowed, I’d only note for others staying with similar plans to be aware if you’re trailering sleds, the hills on Sunset Pl to get to the cabin can be pretty gnarly. We hope to be back in the future!
