Superb hosts. Elly and Sebastian are the most friendly and welcoming people who made our stay so memorable. Nothing was too much trouble, they have excelled and work so hard to keep the place as beautiful as it is. The place is simply stunning, everything was perfect and the pool was amazing. Would highly recommend any of their rentals at their luxury Manor House.

The property is beautiful and well maintained, the pool is just perfect, we had a great stay. Hosts on hand but unobtrusive. A very happy holiday.

A wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay in this character property. The house has everything you may need and the lovely hosts are on call just down the path if you needed anything else. Be aware that you will need to provide the security deposit in cash, which is promptly returned at the end of your stay. The pool and grounds were well maintained and we had a lovely time. Recommended!

Fantastic property, beautifully restored.

Excellent hosts who could not of been more helpful. The property was clean, well furnished and the beds were very comfortable. The downstairs living room was beautiful and cool on the hot days in July. The location definitely needs a car but there are so many options of day trips from this location of outstanding beauty. Lots of local restaurants serving amazing local produce within 5 to 10 minutes away. Local markets most days too. Highly recommended.

12 Days in France

We had a great time. The property is in a rural location but within east driving distance of many villages of character & of course the Dordogne river & tributaries. Pool was the right size being 25m long - so you could actually swim a length. Ellie Koos & their son Sebastian were very helpful & knowledgeable about the area. They also dealt with the little issues we had at the property quickly. I would say the properties are now getting slightly tired & the bed linen could do with replacing. Minor issues really though.

Lovely place and people but a few drawbacks

Overall, we had a lovely stay at Domaine de Pradelle and we leave this review after talking to everyone who stayed that week. The hosts and pool are absolutely fantastic. We received a warm and friendly welcome when we arrived after a long journey. They were on hand if we needed them but left us be when needed. The pool here is stunning. Cool, clean and quiet, exactly what we wanted and needed during hot weather. The house it’s self was great. It is much bigger than in the photos we saw and is well equipped. The terrace is fantastic and gas bbq makes things really easy if you want to use it. Many things point to a 5* review but given the price we paid there are a few bits that prevent that. Mainly, we found that the upstairs floors in the old farmhouse were incredibly noisy. I know it is authentic and a genuine farmhouse but we found that anyone moving around to use the bathroom or toilet upstairs, regardless of how quiet they were trying to be woke the whole house up. One proper bathroom for a 5* property is a stretch and we found the lack of privacy with just gauze curtains on the doors to be problematic. The WiFi is also only at the pool and tricky to access. Overall, this is a lovely property with a great pool but given the price we paid (in August) we would not rush to stay again. If you want a quiet place with a small group and a pool this is the pace for you. The hosts are lovely and clearly care about the property. If we felt they could have solved any of the issues we encountered we would have spoken to them. We just found the noise from the upper floors prevented us from proper sleep and so may think twice before staying again.

What a pity that this guest now comes with a 4 star review instead of 5 and only because of a "creaky oak floor on the first floor" It was bone dry here in France for 3 months due to a heat wave with temperatures between 33 and 40 degrees , so an oak floor in an 18th century major modernized house may shrink. ?!? Very disappointing and a pitty that this is so heavily recorded now. During their stay and when they left, we've asked them several times if everything was okay and if they were having a good time. Each time the response was very positive. Anyhow...Sweet and Friendly people, but now "afterwards" and unexpected a bit of a strange taste still remains.

Just perfect

We've stayed for a bit more than a week and it was really great: fully equipped flat, terrace, ready-to-use gas grill, all necessary kitchen appliances as well as formidable hosts who treated us almost as family. Many thanks to the hosts for your hospitality, for the good tips and tricks as well as letting us also take part in some of your daily "farm activities".

Un super séjour dans un endroit magnifique avec des hôtes extrêmement gentils

Nous avons passé une petite semaine de vacances avec nos 3 grands enfants dans cet endroit magnifique : une très belle propriété dans un environnement naturel et culturel très riche. Une très belle piscine pour se reposer, une terrasse très sympa pour les apéritifs et dîner au frais et, en plus, des hôtes extrêmement prévenants, gentils et toujours disponibles pour de bons conseils. Nous recommandons sans aucune réserve ! Et nous reviendrons. Merci Elly et Sebastiaan !

Stunning period property in beautiful setting

Staying here was a real pleasure. The setting is idyllic and the pool was both characterful and extremely clean - popular with all three households staying. Having the hosts on site meant they were on hand to offer suggestions and nothing was too much trouble

Lieux de charme, calme et reposant

Très beau domaine. Gîte (Lavande) spacieux et bien équipé. Seul bémol l'insonorisation à l'intérieur du gîte... Mieux vaut avoir le même rythme. Propriétaires chaleureux et sympathiques Très belle piscine Région magnifique avec beaucoup d'endroits à visiter.... Intéressants pour les jeunes et les moins jeunes.

Nous avons passé deux jours formidables à Sainte-Alvère. L'endroit est magnifique, le hameau-gîte est très bien pensé et rénové avec goût et les hôtes ont été à la fois très discrets, accueillants et sympathiques. Nous y reviendrons certainement.

Victoria, her husband and daughter have been wonderful guests. They enjoyed our hospitality, the quiet and beautiful surroundings of Domaine de Pradelle. It is a pity that they could not stay for longer due to their travel schedule, But they told us that they will definitely come back and stay a little longer. We think back to their stay with great pleasure !!
