Thank you Nicholas for your kind words in your Review. We always appreciate all feedback from our Guests. Just to clarify; we do put the size of the pool in the website property details, and we don't put TVs in all the bedrooms as we surveyed our Guests a few years ago about doing that and it was a unanimous opinion from the majority of previous Guests that they weren't coming to Spain on holiday to watch TV in the bedroom. The main TV does have ALL UK and European Live channels, plus Sport & Movie channels, and we also have a VOD library of over 10,000 Movies & TV Series in our TV package. One thing, just FYI - there is a short walk straight into La Cala town that avoids the main road that you mentioned. It's a path that takes you across the parkland in front of the villa and through an underpass so you can easily get to/from La Cala town without going near the main road. Hi Jeanette - we always appreciate feedback from our Guests, and we thank you for yours now, though sadly there are inaccuracies in your Review... 1. The 'Info Pack' at the villa is fully up to date, so we don't understand your comment regarding that. 2. You sent us an 'urgent' text message about the ceiling fans 'not working and being noisy' and we responded very quickly and informed you we would take a look at them, so you were aware we were calling at the villa - please recheck the text message we sent you. We gave you advance notice we would be calling at the villa but you were not in, which is not our fault. Based on your 'urgent' request, we checked both ceiling fans in the bedrooms - both were working great and neither were noisy, which we highlighted to you, and you subsequently thanked us. 3. We apologise for any dust in the wardrobes and you also mention other maintenance issues, but at the time of your stay you did not highlight any of these points. Had you have done we could have got the housekeepers back to rectify and fix any issues. 4. As is explained clearly in our Rental Terms, deposits are returned within 7 days once the villa is checked for damages or breakages, but we needed your bank details to do this. As you know, you gave us the bank details on a Monday and your deposit was refunded on the Friday, within 5 days. 5. The reason we put a photo of ourselves in the villa is simply to add a personal touch to Guests renting so that they know who we are, and it helps build a friendly 'more personal' relationship with our rental Guests. Your comment about our photo in your review was a little rude, unnecessary and somewhat petty, and it serves no benefit to help future Guests review our property when booking. It's a shame that you haven't given a more objective, balanced review - you haven't mentioned the fact we gave you an early checkin or that we left you complimentary wine (and received no thanks), and we responded quickly to any message you sent us. Hi Lisa - we always appreciate Guests feedback and so we are glad to hear you had a lovely time at the villa and that you felt it was perfect in many ways. Just responding to a couple of things you highlighted... You mentioned the mosquito screens having some holes, so we checked them right after your stay and we only found one screen throughout the whole villa that had a small hole (about 2 inches) which we have since repaired. All other screens had no holes so we're a bit confused by your comment. We're happy to supply you photos of the screens to re-assure you. ...and you mentioned having to close the windows but as you were using air-con, the windows should have been closed anyway otherwise the air-con is ineffective. You also mentioned about the pool being heated but when you booked the villa, there was no mention of pool heating and you never asked about it, and you still were happy to book. It was only once at the villa when you read some old documentation about pool heating that you then asked about it during your stay, and we clarified then that the pool heating is not working, and it was never suggested it was working prior to you booking. So again we're confused why this was an issue when you were not expecting the pool to be heated? Again, we appreciate all your feedback and thank you for choosing to stay at Villa Breeze. We always value feedback from our Guests, even negative feedback, if it is offered in an honest, unbiased, constructive way – such feedback allows us to continually improve the experience our Guests have staying in our home. Unfortunately this review from these German gentlemen was NOT such a review – this review was deliberately written to be vindictive and to ‘get back at us’ because we challenged these Guests about smoking inside our ‘no-smoking’ villa, to the extent of us finding ash in the bed linen. He did not like being caught out over this and hence he posted this ‘grudge’ review. Hopefully it is clear that it is completely out of place when ALL our other property reviews from our Guests over the past 3 years of people renting our property, have been so complimentary with couples, groups and families coming back year after year, often with repeat bookings in the same season! The review from this man is an inaccurate, untruthful review that was written with an ulterior motive. We encourage anyone looking at our property to read ALL our reviews, which gives accurate ‘Guest feedback’ about our property. For now, for the purpose of information for any future Guests, we will address the points raised in this man’s review: 1. The property is professionally maintained and cleaned to a high standard, both by ourselves (it is our home) and professional trades. The night prior to this Guest arriving there was a huge storm which stirred up dust on the terraces and leaves in the pool, which we immediately organised for the gardener to do a return visit to rectify. 2. We do not advertise a coffee-machine and in 3 years not one single guest has requested one. We do however provide a coffee cafetiere. 3. All windows have roller blinds to block out the light, along with voiles. 4. All terrace furniture is NEW. 5. The solar-powered pool heating works ALL year, but it does need the sun to be out (that’s why it’s called solar-powered LOL) – we make this clear in all our information. 6. No funds were ever withheld. We were considering doing so for an additional clean to remove smells from these Guests smoking inside the villa, but to put an end to this matter we simply decided to return all their money and take no further action. No legal action was ever initiated, and all emails were responded to immediately. We ceased communication only when threatening emails were received from these gentlemen and we referred the matter then directly to Owners Direct
