**“We are John and Christine Warwick. He is British, she is French/Italian. We both fell in love with Crete—the island, the weather, the locals, and their warm Cretan hospitality. Although we had visited many other European countries, we never felt as comfortable and at ease as we do in this part of Western Crete.

We had been searching for a place to buy, somewhere we could share with friends and extended family, and when the opportunity arose, we had no hesitation. I fell in love with Crete the first time I visited, and that sparked our desire to buy a property here. Being Italian and French myself, Crete reminded me of both the Côte d’Azur and Tuscany—before these regions were affected by overbuilding and mass tourism. Western Crete remains the most traditional part of the island, offering authentic landscapes, culture, and hospitality.

We are conveniently located within easy reach of the beautiful Venetian town of Chania and the historic city of Rethymno, with its Turkish legacy. The nearest beaches are only a 10-minute drive away. Our personal favourite, for its tranquility and lovely golden sand, is on the western side of Kalyves. When we prefer a busier atmosphere with commercial bars and tavernas, we head to the central beaches of Kalyves.

Our local village, Stylos, is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience traditional Cretan life.

We named our villa Petra, as it is beautifully stone-built. Unlike Plaka, Almerida, or Kokkinorio, this exclusive hill-top location is home to only four properties, including ours, each set generously apart on plots ranging from 1,500 to 4,000 m².

From the villa, you enjoy an uninterrupted view straight out to the bay of Souda. Between November and often until the end of April, the mountains behind the property are capped with stunning white snow. Imagine sunbathing on one of the loungers by the pool at Easter, and in a single glance, taking in both the snow-capped mountains behind you and the deep blue waters of Souda Bay in front—simply breathtaking!

We absolutely love this location. It is idyllic and exclusive, set in unspoiled countryside, offering privacy, tranquility, and spectacular scenery.
