Thank you for your response and glad you enjoyed your holiday. Unfortunately the neighbours were having some works to their patio for a few days so normally it's very quiet. I agree Rui steakhouse does the best and cheapest steaks around.

We are glad you enjoyed your holiday. The villa does have a villa at the back so not totally isolated but not overlooked.

Yes it was an unfortunate event on the last night but the luxury foam mattress was ruined and we couldn't allow other guests to use it so it had to be replaced. The mattresses always have a protector on but if this event was likely we could have supplied a waterproof mattress for you upon request. We do wish you revisit us again.

Thank you for your review. I have had the gates oiled , they had a lot of rain in April so the stiffness may have been caused by the wet weather. I can provide another set of keys to the house. It will be good to have you at the villa again, looking for all the birds. Anne and Stuart

Hi Alex, thanks for your review and the 5 stars and we’re really glad you enjoyed the villa , holiday and left it in a very clean state. I’ll just clarify a couple of the points made: Regarding dogs, there are no dogs in the nearby vicinity of the house and thus no problem whatsoever with loud barking. Many, many Portuguese families have dogs and of course there are some in the general area. Some houses near the cafe have dogs but this is quite a distance away, probably 1/2 km. If they bark it’s certainly never been a problem and certainly can’t be heard indoors either. There are certainly no kennels. Regarding the pool, yes there’s a shallow end and deep end with depths marked clearly and there’s a slope between them. That’s fairly standard for pools. Thanks for letting us know about the BBQ grill. They do rust and we replace every year or 2. We’ll get that changed. It’s a shame about the departure time misunderstanding. We did clearly state 10am on our instructions and also on an email prior to the holiday and Alison did try to contact you several times during the week. Had a later departure time been requested Alison is generally able to alter her cleaning rotas accordingly. We have always known Alison to be very pleasant and helpful and so were amazed by this comment. Once again, we’re delighted that you had an enjoyable holiday. Best wishes
