Welcome to Dinghy, a cozy coach house, perfect for a fun trip for two or a small family getaway. Tucked about the garage at Bob’s Boathouse, Dinghy can be rented on its own or in conjunction with the main house. Located in the heart of Beachwalk close to the pool and tennis court. Dinghy features a full-sized kitchen, family area with tv, and a full bath.

Dinghy’s couch in the living room is the perfect place to unwind and watch a movie. Enjoy dinner in the kitchen with seating for 4.

OUTDOOR GATHERING SPACE
Sit out on the second level balcony and enjoy the sounds of the lake as the waves meet the shore, the kids at play and the boats as they cruise the coast. Pull up a chair and enjoy a front row seat to the beautiful sun sets that sink just past the Chicago Skyline.

RESORT AMENITIES AND INFO * indicates a seasonal amenity 4ft heated pool*, toddler pool, basketball court*, tennis court, bocce ball court, shuffleboard, Sandcastle playground, putting green, paddle boarding and kayaking*, catch and release fishing. Parking Passes ($5 each) and Wristbands ($15 each) are required for all guests ages 4 and up mid-May through September.

Dinghy rents with a 7-night minimum with check-in and check-out on Friday during peak season (mid-June to mid-August).

Great location but not up to snuff

Rotten front door would not lock. Smelled like mold, air filter in ceiling was black. Weak or no signal for pixelating television. BW rental help says the owner knows all these things. I should be entitled to a partial refund. Vrbo should make owner solve these issues

This is the second time we’ve stayed and we love the little upstairs apartment perfect for the two of us. The ladies in the office were also very sweet and helpful.

I’d come back

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at the Dingy. It was a perfect location across the street from the pool, beach, and clubhouse. The complex and community was also very nice and maintained. Staff was always friendly and willing to help/ answer any questions we had. It had a washer/dryer and kitchenware. The kitchen equipment was pretty bare but enough to get by and cook. It was super easy to check in and the instructions for the unit were very clear and appropriate. We came right after the busy season right before Labor Day and it seemed very laid back, plenty of space to enjoy the clubhouse and pool, I don’t know what the busy season would look like though. It is also a quick walk to the beach which was also very spacious. The only downside was the floors of our unit. The tile floors were very very dirty, if you walked around barefoot for 3 minutes the bottom of your feet looked like you were trying to get your footprint ink stamp like a baby. I understand it is a beach destination and the floors are bound to be somewhat dirty with sand but I seriously couldn’t walk around barefoot because I didn’t want to track that dirty mess to our bed. In the middle of the night I didn’t even go to the bathroom barefoot because I didn’t want to track that back into bed. Other than the floors everything was good, I would definitely come back again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time renting at BW. Good location for families. Our unit’s beach chairs (2) were the same as last year when I had reported that one of them is totally broken and can’t be used. I had hoped it would have been replaced, but it wasn’t. The shower head is unadjustable so if you turn the shower on while standing outside the shower be prepared to get soaked and the door drenched. I would also like to know if there is a quiet interval for the site. We had kids outside playing (screaming, crying, playing pickleball) before 8am.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Beachwalk. Dinghy worked well for us, but the furnishings were tired and in needed of upgrading. Previous reviews noted the same concerns a year ago, but were not addressed. Sofa and shades were in need of replacement. Also, there is an ant problem in the bathroom.

There was lettuce on the couch, toothpaste on the knobs and dog hair all over the floor. The lock initially did not lock... but they did fix this. The shower leaked and never got warm. One of the lawn /beach chairs was totally broken. Some basic necessities like scissors, salt and pepper, extra blankets or even a pen were not there. Needs major updating and even blinds had many broken spots.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in Dinghy. It was clean and the pictures were accurate. Felt the written description was a little misleading. It first states "Indoor Gathering Space" and describes the kitchen and living area. It then lists "Outdoor Gathering Space" which I interpreted as a description of the balcony in the unit itself. Upon re-reading it following our stay, it seems to be describing the area at the Clubhouse but that was not clear. I wasn't expecting a "balcony" that really doesn't accommodate any seating and looks into the alley over the trash and recycling receptacles. (Official listing states "OUTDOOR GATHERING SPACE: Sit out on the second level balcony and enjoy the sounds of the lake as the waves meet the shore, the kids at play and the boats as they cruise the coast. Pull up a chair and enjoy a front row seat to the beautiful sun sets that sink just past the Chicago Skyline.")I should have read more closely and looked more intently at the pictures as the tiny balcony is shown, I just didn't see it.When we have stayed at similar facilities, they have included basic items such as shampoo/conditioner, coffee, blow dryer and a few niceties. Some of these items would have been a nice touch. However, unit was clean, nice location, check-in was easy, staff was nice and all went smoothly.

The only issue was it listed a gas grill being Available & we planned dinners around grilling & instead had to use the stove. We called about the grill & weren’t called back till the next day. When we left, we turned in the key to the office staff. Later in day same office staff called us asking where we put the key. I had turned it in to her personally. Otherwise, we loved the house & the area & we’ll be back.

Reviewer Comments: The second story rental only had one entrance, a long enclosed stairwell, there was no secondary escape exit other then jumping off the roof onto a cement driveway. The television was not operable. There were no directions on how to use the system and when someone from maintainable showed up he had no idea in how to get it to work.
