Best VRBO HOSTESS EVER

Cristina truly was the most hospitable hostess of any VRBO property we have ever experienced. She made our time here extra special. Although there are a lot of stairs and we needed to travel 30 mins to the sights, i feel the tranquility of her property and serenity of the mountain environment gave us the opportunity to decompress from our city life back home while still exploring and enjoying the Gaudi masterpieces in the city. Thank you Cristina and Ursula!

Oasis for Exploring Barcelona

We hunted through many properties before booking here to explore Barcelona and Cristina's place couldn't have been better. We were able to go everywhere we wanted via the train. The short walk to the station was perfect. We loved the outdoor terraces and backyard which were perfect for relaxing, having meals, or coffee at. Our group was 2 families of 4, with kids ranging 7-21. There was ample space and the short train ride away from the business of the city, along with the natural beauty of the area was much preferred to the apartments we compared against. Overall, would highly recommend!

Breathing in Barcelona Life!

My family members and loved ones made this Villa our home base for two weeks of Summer. It is absolutely beautiful in its structure, design and decor. Our rental space was the top 2 floors and outdoor patio of the main, uphill building. A unit below us is another space, and then a street level unit is yet another. Between the sections are the long staircases others have mentioned. In our space, I had the bedroom by the kitchen which has a wc and shower, while others were in the 3 bedrooms upstairs sharing a full bath. There is outdoor balcony seating on both levels, facing the valley of the neighborhood. Behind the kitchen is a more private patio for group gatherings and ping pong playing. We relied on nearby public transit for trips into the center of Barcelona, and to beach towns along the coast. This required planning, but was worth it! Our hosts were very kind and responsive to our questions and concerns, arranging for our taxi from, and back to, the airport. I treasure my memories from our stay here!

Misleading Description of home. Multiple photos in the profile are from a separate property on the grounds to which we had no access, to our surprise (see pictures from VRBO listing screen shots below and which were NOT included in rental). There is a permanent renter living in this part of the property, yet the photos of that separate property were included in this profile and described as the property’s “dining”, “interior” and “living area”. Not true. The owner also listed the property as air conditioned, and it is not. Neighborhood dogs bark all day and night, so sleeping with windows open is not restful, and the morning sun rises early. Owner suggested leaving front and back doors open to keep house cooler, but we were unwilling to do so as a safety measure and with other renters on the property. Thus, the ground floor was hot all night. Upper floor was bearable, but noisy. Owner was not apologetic about the misrepresentations, but has at least since changed the false A/C representation, but pictures of the other rental unit remain on this listing. Beds were comfy. Train station is close, but plan for 40minutes to get to most Barcelona locations. I would not recommend this property based on the misrepresentations made. It’s not a great way to do business, in my opinion, and owner was unapologetic about the same. In my opinion, if she was not intending to mislead renters, her profile would be more transparent and wouldn’t have promised A/C when the home has none.

The listing clearly states that there is an additional space on the property that can be rented upon request, separately from the main house. This is the area shown in some of the photos, and it is only included when guests specifically choose to rent that extra space. We understand this confused, and we will review the listing again to make it even clearer. Regarding the air conditioning, the separate loft does have A/C, but the main house never needed it until this summer. The house has always stayed naturally cool, but this year we experienced an exceptional and unprecedented heatwave. Because of this extraordinary situation, we have now decided to install air conditioning so guests will always feel comfortable going forward. We apologise if this created discomfort during your stay. About the noises: being inside a natural park means embracing the sounds of nature—birds, breeze through the trees, and yes, occasionally dogs in the area. This home is meant to be enjoyed with the summer breeze and the peaceful sound of the forest, so it is not a house meant to be lived in with every door and window closed. We understand your safety concern, of course, but in this environment, natural ventilation is what keeps the home fresh. We are sincerely sorry that your experience was not what you expected. We always put our hearts into making the house welcoming, though we cannot control nature or the weather. We hope future guests can enjoy the true essence of this place, and we appreciate your comments as they help us improve clarity in our listing. Thank you again for your time and feedback.

Beautiful Villa in a Peaceful Neighborhood Close to Metro

The villa is a short walk to a metro stop that takes you directly to the city center of Barcelona in about 20 minutes. The house itself was as beautiful as the pictures look and it was quiet and serene. You can sleep with the french doors to the terrace open and it almost feels like camping but in a comfortable bed. The host was very attentive to our questions/requests, and we communicated with her using Whats App. Whatever we asked for we got right away. For example, we needed matches to light the stove, but there weren't any, so she came by right away to drop some off. This is a great place to sit outside in the morning and have a cup of coffee and enjoy the peace and view or to have some drinks and good food out on the patio at night. Yes, there are a lot of stairs - about 60 in total to get to the rental, but you don't have to climb them all at once. Actually, coming up and down was good exercise, as was the very steep walk up the hill to the neighborhood grocery store. Unless you are in very good shape, you won't want to do that more than once, but the store will also take orders on What's App and deliver to you for free. The only reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 was that there isn't really anything close by to the villa, so to go out for anything requires a metro ride. I would actually give it a 4.5 rating. There is a restaurant at the bottom of the hill and the one neighborhood grocery store, but otherwise you need to plan ahead.

La superbe maison de Cristina est tellement bien située! 5mins du métro, entourée de jolies montagnes couvertes de mimosa. Nous sommes arrivés dans une maison très bien chauffée (fin février 2023 très froid avec de la neige). Cristina nous a accueillis, aidés quand nous en avons eu besoin. En 20 mins nous étions dans le centre, et le matin et le soir dans la montagne! excellente adresse.Merci Cristina

Beautiful home in the hills just outside Barcelona.

The property is great. There is as much outdoor living areas/courtyards/covered patios as there is indoor space. The home is in a quite neighborhood with just a short walk to the Metro that takes you into town in less than 20 minutes. Cristina is an awesome host and a huge help with restaurant recommendations and local activities. Mont Serrat is less than a 40 min drive from the home as well. It was very nice to be able to come home to this lovely home after a busy day in the city. Thank you, Cristina, for everything!

Lovely and comfortable

Three of us had a great time staying in the villa for 12 days. We enjoyed several dinners on the patio and drinks of cava. The many steps were a challenge, but we all agreed that they kept us in shape. Ursula was a wonderful resource when we needed help. We would definitely enjoy returning there again.

Wonderful experience at Villa Belladonna

My wife and I rented Villa Belladonna for 2 months from September to November 2017. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Barcelona. Christina and her associate Ursula were wonderful hosts. They responded promptly and positively to our requests and went well beyond the call of duty. The setting is exceptional - a quiet oasis 15 minutes away from the very centre of the city by train. The neighbourhood has many winding roads and paths and postcard views are present around every corner. The house itself is charming, spacious, very clean and well equipped - exactly as presented. Overall we had a truly fantastic visit and hope to return again some day soon. Thank you Christina and Ursula!

Agréable pratique spacieuse et confortable

Nous n'en avons pas cru nos yeux.Etre à dix minutes du centre ville tout en évoluant dans un cadre bucolique,si proches de singuliers mais étonnants sangliers!!!Nous avons trouvé çà génial.Double vacances donc et choix multiples entre ville et campagne.Nous etions deux adultes et cinq enfants de treize à quatre ans.Tous se sont régalés. Très belle semaine de vacances.

made our holiday ideal

Landlord cristina was so nice and helpful. she recived us on the first day and made sure that everything was ok for us. It was a really Beautiful location ,ideal for us as we where searching to spend a holliday out of pollution. It was just what we where looking for . As its a clean and lovely relaxing spacious house. I would definitely recomend this place for families with kids as my little nephew really enjoyed. he was runing around the house the hole time until he had no energy left. we had a wonderful holiday and probably be back next time we come to Barcelona. 이곳에서 스페인 가족여행을 즐겁게 보냈어요!!! 집주인 크리스티나는 정말 친절하고 떠나는날 까지 우리가족이 편하게 지낼수 있도록 배려해 주었어요. 첫날 우리가족을 반갑게 맞이 해주시고 집안내를 해주고 혹시나 우리가족이 불편한 것이 있는지 때때로 전화로 확인해줬어요. 뒷 가든과 앞에 테라스, 거실과 방4개, 샤워실과 욕실은 지내는 동안 불편함이 없이 넓고 깨끗했어요. 특히 2층 테라스에서 가족이랑 와인도 하고 앉아서 스페인 날씨도 즐기기하고 뒷가든에서 바베큐 파티도 하고 친척동생도 답답해하지도 않고 잘 뛰다니면서 잘 놀더라구요. 이렇게 넓은 공간을 좋은가격에 빌려서 너무 좋았고 집주인도 너무 친절해서 다음에 또 가족이 스페인 방문하게 되면 여기로 꼭 머물생각이에요!!

Charmante et très belle maison atypique

Maison agréable , proche du cœur de Barcelone , bien équipée. Un accueil chaleureux de la propriétaire qui parle le français. Petit désagrément, les chiens du voisinage parfois trop bruyants. Attention l’accès à la maison se fait par des petites rues étroites et notamment un passage sur un pont exigu. Je recommande cette maison a tous ceux qui souhaite passer de bonnes vacances en famille....

amazing stay in a wonderful place

We had a wondeful stay in this lovely house. My family and I stayed for one week and everyone just loved the place. It's really easy to get into the city centre by train but while being in the house and the neighbourhood you wouldn't believe you are actually in Barcelona. I highly recommend this place to everybody who wants to have a relaxing time with the possibillity to be at plaza catalunya whithin 20 minutes. And a hughe thank you to Christina who made the arriving quite easy with her english knowledge and her heartwarming nature!

Le plus est qu'une fois sur place, plus besoin d'utiliser la voiture, la station est réellement à 5 min a pied et en 7 arrêt on se retrouve Place de Catalunya au cœur de Barcelone. Nous avons apprécié les soirées au calme après l'intensité de la journée. Idéal en famille. Cristina est une propriétaire très gentille et a l'écoute. A refaire 😀

Great peaceful location close to city centre

We (family of 5) stayed in Casa Belladonna for 9 weeks as I was working in Barcelona. We had a brilliant time and really enjoyed the location of this house. It was only 25 minutes into Plaza Cataluyna. Les planes train station is a 3 minute walk from the house. We had a car (though not necessary) and we visited Montserrat, Girona, Tarragona, Sitges and Costa brava on day trips. There is a lovely small town in the hills (Vallvidrera) where we did our supermarket shopping. The supermarket had a fantastic fish counter. We drove there but possible to get bus or train. San Cugat is also a lovely town (10 minutes by train) with swimming pool and very nice boutiques and food shops. There are also lovely walks in Collserola national park (get off at Baixador de Vallvidrera which is next stop to Les Planes). Cristina was very helpful and gave us lots of advice. Our daughter needed to go to a hospital and Cristina made lots of calls for us to find out best place to go. The children loved the garden and table tennis. They also loved seeing the wild boars that roam around the hillls. There is a small playground at the top of the hill (about 10 minutes walk uphill!). Thank you Cristina for taking such good care of us. We have wonderful memories of our stay in your house.

A peaceful retreat.

A lovely warm house which seems a world away from the excitement that is Barcelona - but in fact is only a short and easy train journey away. We (a family of four from New Zealand) stayed here for a week and it was wonderfull to be able to return to this peaceful house after a days sightseeing.

Maison très agréable, nous avons passé un excellent séjour avec nos 4 adolescents. Le site est très beau, et l'accès au centre de Barcelone vraiment très pratique.

"Nous garderons un excellent souvenir de notre séjour à BARCELONE et de notre lieu de villégiature conforme à nos attentes. Quel plaisir en effet de se situer en pleine nature dans le parc de COLLSEROLLA et de croiser régulièrement des sangliers peu farouches en allant prendre le métro effectivement à moins de 5 minutes à pied de la maison. Et 15 minutes après, vous êtes en plein coeur de BARCELONE,c''est pas top çà! Nous avons également apprécié la table de ping-pong pendant que d''autres s''affairaient autour du très utile barbecue. Encore un grand merci pour les conseils de notre hôtesse Christina et le renvoi du cordon du smartphone oublié. Bien cordialement. Gilbert et sa bande de copains"
