Vintage aparment where I grew up and I spent my childhood with my family.
It sleeps 4 or 5 people and it is located in front of Santa Margherita Ligure 10 minutes by car and 15mins by bus.
From the kitchen balcony there is a speechless view there you could relax and have breakfast and enjoy your stay.

Reliable buses will lead you to the town center and from june, every week ends 3 free buses to get to the beach and from July to August every day and until middle of September only during week ends.
In front of our house a wonderful foot path, among olive trees, will lead you in 30 minutes to Santa Margherita Ligure.
Perfect to explore the surroundings. We are in the heart of Portofino National Park and from here you can easily reach Portofino, SantaMargherita Ligure, Camogli, Genova and last but not the least CINQUE TERRE.

The best way to visit the surroundings is by bus.
Other places that worths a visit:
SAN FRUTTUOSO you can reach it on foot starting from our village or by boat from Santa Margherita.

PARAGGI PORTOFINO on foot from our house taking the foot path among olive trees or you can reach the Portofino regional Prak and explore the wonderful footpaths in the wood.
CINQUE TERRE by train from rapallo.
CAMOGLI by bus from opur house at 30 meters.
SESTRI LEVANTE by train from Rapallo
ZOAGLI by Bus
CHIAVARI by bus or train every first weekend of the month there is a really nice antique trade.

Perfect stay in a beautiful region

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment! Giulia and her mother are wonderful hosts and extremely helpful. The apartment is spacious & we were able to cook a few meals with a well stocked kitchen. The view from the balconies is incredible. It is really nice to come up to a mountain village to escape the heat & crowds in the evening. We were able to use the home as a base to take the ferry to Cinque Terre & Portofino. The bus to/from town runs hourly. It is super easy but does require a bit of planning on your day so you don’t get stuck waiting. We loved our stay!!

The perfect place!

We absolutely hit the jackpot with this stay! Guilia's communication with us was fast and always full of suggestions and information. The suite had everything we needed - especially the deck where we sat every night watching the glorious view of Santa Margherita and the ships in the harbour with a glass of wine of course. We didn't rent a car, but the location of Nona's House was such a short walk to the bus stop. We were so thankful for this location as we had all the benefits of Santa Margarita (10 minute bus ride) and then arriving back to our place with virtually no tourists around and just enjoying the quietness of the lovely area. We will definitely be recommending Nona's house to all our friends and family AND we hope to return!

Great hospitality!!!!

When we arrived to Lucia's Grandmother's House, Lucia met us at our car and took us inside to show us around and she answered many questions. She was warm and helpful and we loved the apartment! The bed was wonderful; along with all of the windows and two balconies. The balcony off of the kitchen overlooked the most wonderful view of the Tigullio Gulf and the city of Santa Margherita. We cooked most of our meals in the wonderful kitchen and walked to the center of town by taking the path down the side of the hill. We rode the bus back to the apartment which was easy to do from the bus station in Santa Margherita. We had dinner at the Pizzeria just down from the apartment and it was great with reasonable prices. We would love to return someday and take the cooking classes provided by Lucia. She was delightful! Thank you for a wonderful time in your Grandmother's house. When we were planning our trip, we had originally thought about staying in Portofino and were so thankful that we had decided on this location. The road to Portofino was narrow and congested and we would have felt stranded in Portofino for the three days while in Ligure. We highly recommend staying at this apartment!

A lesson at Grandma's House

We had a wonderful week at Grandma’s apartment! It was perfect for the four of us old retired folks. The very spacious and well appointed bedrooms, living area and kitchen made it feel like home! The location was ideal for exploring the surrounding towns and scenic sights and being in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean was a big plus. We especially liked the garden area where we could relax in the evening with a good bottle of wine and some special Hors d’oeuvres (thank you so much for the peppers stuffed with anchovies, what a treat!…). But the highlight of our stay was the cooking lesson, because it was so much more than that. I had asked Lucia before we came if she could give us a cooking lesson. Lucia asked what we wanted to cook and we told her we’d like to try some mussels in a red sauce. We expected a short lesson on sauce preparation, steaming mussels and some tasting as we went along. What we got was totally unexpected. We came downstairs to Lucia’s home around 4 PM and were greeted by the entire family including their Aunt who was toting a three foot rolling pin! After meeting Lucia’s family (and Duna the dog) she showed us the fresh mussels she purchased…3 Kilos! This was getting interesting. Between the wine, the conversation and the laughing we managed to make Homemade Pasta, Stuffed Mussels, Bolognese Sauce and Steamed Mussels, sampling the offerings as we went along. We all had a fun and laughter filled dinner together, again, totally unexpected but very much appreciated. We came down for a simple cooking lesson and left four and one half hours later with a realization that we had just experienced a very special evening in Italy with a very special Italian family. The students has been very interested, patient and gourmands! Perfect for me! A special service alert to Sue: it seems easy to prepare English toffee... but we failed two times on three! Ferienwohnung mit Charakter

Das Haus liegt über dem sehr touristischen Ort Santa Margherita in San Lorenzo in alltäglicher Umgebung, mit einfacher Bar, Restaurant und Lebensmittelgeschäft um die Ecke. Alle entfernteren Orte sind gut mit dem Bus gut zu erreichen. So kann man schöne Wanderungen in dem Naturschutzgebiet machen und kommt immer wieder mit Boot oder Bus gut zurück. Die Wohnung "Haus der Großmutter" ist entsprechen eingerichtet, was der Wohnung auch ihren eigenen Charme gibt. Die Küche allerdings läßt zu wünschen übrig. Da hätten wir uns weniger "Großmutter" gewünscht. Sowohl Einrichtung als auch Küchenutensilien sind nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Da wir sehr gerne kochen und hervorragende Zutaten auf den Märkten (Rapallo ist sehr zu empfehlen) kaufen konnten, hat uns das sehr gestört. Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett, das Olivenöl hervorragend.

Haus der Großmutter muss man leider wörtlich nehmen!!!!

+ Sehr nette und freundliche Vermieterin mit sehr familiärer Atmosphäre + Sehr schöner Blick auf St. Margherita + zu Fuß über die Via Romana ( Wanderweg ) ca. 20 min ins Zentrum von St. Margherita, retour mit dem Bus 1,80 € pro Person + Netter kleiner Laden im Ort, mit allem für den täglichen Bedarf, der Besitzer spricht deutsch - Starker Abflussgeruch im Bad - Dusche winzig, zum Einseifen muss die Kabine geöffnet werden, nur für lange Hanseaten noch bedingt geeignet - Kleiderschränke riechen nach Mottenkugeln, eben wie bei der Oma und sind teilweise durch Reservewäsche oder Tischdecken belegt - Ausstattung der Küche stark in die Jahre gekommen, bei ersten Kochen musste erstmal das Kochgeschirr und Teller etc."entfettet" werden. - der Garten ist im August nicht wie auf den Bildern schön grün, sondern braun - Auf Grund von Ameisen die sich sofort über unser Essen hermachten und Wespen, welche ebenfalls ein Festmahl entdeckten, konnten wir den Garten leider nicht nutzen - Da wir zu viert waren, konnten wir auch nicht auf den Balkon, welcher nur für einen 2er Tisch Platz hat, ausweichen. Daher saßen wir bei schönem Wetter, gezwungenermaßen, im Wohnzimmer - Nachts war es kaum möglich durchzuschlafen, da die Hunde in der Nachbarschaft die ganze Nacht hindurch bellten. - Das Schlafzimmer zu Vorderseite wurde die ganze Nacht durch Harley Davidson´s oder sonstige Motorfahrzeuge beschallt Fazit: St. Margherita werden wir bestimmt wieder einmal besuchen, jedoch nicht mehr in dieser Ferienwohnung. Die Bilder vermitteln ein positiveres Bild als die Realität welche man vorfindet!

Dear Guests, Grandmother’s house is a simple and genuine apartment, and all of our previous guests appreciated this. In the living room there are clean table clothes and napkins, in the bedrooms clean duvets and other stuff at disposal for our guests. It is the first time that someone complaints about this. The kitchen equipment is always checked. Maybe we forgot to do it that time, since you arrived much earlier than expected and we tried to prepare the apartment as soon as possible while we offered you some drinks. We are sorry about that. Regarding the state of the lawn in our garden, this year it hadn’t been raining since December and, due to the exceptional drought, it wasn’t possible to water it enough. As written on the listing, we share our private garden, and, during your one week stay, we used it only once for 2 hours. There are not many ants or wasps, although sometimes it can happen to find few of them… being in a garden. I don’t understand your complaint about the balcony in front of the sea: it is little, as you can see clearly from the pictures, but there is a bigger one, suitable for four people and with a beautiful view as well. About the noise, there is the possibility to leave the double glaze windows closed, as in the apartment there’s the air conditioning. We live in the same building and sometime the dogs bark but not all the night long. We are really surprised about your many claims, because you told us several times that everything was fine. Anyway, you should have told us about these problems during your stay, and we would have tried to find a solution. In any case, we hope you will find the best location for your needs next time and you will enjoy our beautiful region. Lucia and Giulia

Charmantes Haus in wundervoller Lage

Wir (zwei Erwachsene und zwei Kinder im Alter von 6 und 11) haben eine Woche in San Lorenzo verbracht. Das Apartement ist sehr groß und geräumig, zwei Schlafzimmer, ein Wohnzimmer, eine Küche und ein kleines Bad, sowie ein zusätzliches Zimmer. Die Einrichtung ist sehr funktional und ausreichend modern. Die Schlaf- und das Wohnzimmer sind mit Klimageräten ausgestattet. In der Küche befindet sich u.a. ein moderner Gasherd und eine Waschmaschine. Die Lage des Hauses ist traumhaft, in den Hügeln über Santa Margharita gelegen. Ein alter Fußweg führt in etwa 20 Minuten in die Stadt. Darüberhinaus ist die Busverbindung nach Santa Margherita, nach Camogli und nach Genua außergewöhnlich gut. Die Lage außerhalb von Santa Margherita führt dazu, dass es für italienische Verhältnisse nachts ruhig ist. Das Apartement hat zwei Balkone, die einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Bucht von Santa Margherita bieten. Die Gastgeber, Lucia, Giulia und Guido sind zauberhaft nette und ausgesprochen liebenswürdige Vermieter, die uns sogar zu einem ligurischen Abendessen eingeladen haben. Vielen herzlichen Dank für die wunderbare Woche die wir sehr genossen haben.

Très beau séjour et reposant!

Chez Lucciana nous avons trouvé ce que nous cherchions pour un court séjour, des vacances dépaysantes, reposantes et pleines de charme. Luciana est accueillante et souriante et parle très bien francais, ce qui était une belle surprise pour une famille franco-allemande. Une autre belle surprise était la bouteille de vin et la foccacia à la sauge qui nous attendait le premier soir, on a apprécié après une journée de route! Encore merci pour tout et qui sait peut-être à bientôt...

Urlaub vom Feinsten

Die Wohnung oberhalb von St. Margherita ligure, gemütlich, mit zwei Balkonen mit Blick auf den Hafen von St. Margherita und das Umland, Küche und Bad klein, aber zweckmäßig und sauber. Kleiner Laden, Bushaltestelle um die Ecke. So kann man sich problemlos versorgen und ohne Auto und Stress in die Orte der Nachbarschaft (Rapallo, Portofino , Cinque Terre ) kommen. Super Wanderwege mit wunderbaren Badestränden . Munteres Leben in den Hafenorten und Ruhe und Einsamkeit in den Wäldern. Aber das Schönste: die super nette und freundschaftliche Aufnahme durch unsere Vermieterin und deren Familie . Im Garten mit Blick auf das Meer saßen wir zusammen, unterhielten uns mit Lucia und Ihrer Familie, lachten, wurden verwöhnt mit leckerster ligurischer Küche, eingeweiht in die Zubereitung von foccacia , lernten andere Gäste aus Holland und USA kennen- kurz, so viel Nähe und Freundlichkeit haben wir in noch keiner anderen Ferienwohnung erlebt! Unser Herz wir warm, wenn wir an diese Zeit denken. Wir können diese Ferienwohnung jedem empfehlen , der Freude und Spaß daran hat, mit Menschen des Urlaubsortes/-Landes in Kontakt zu kommen ! Wonderful place!

We had a very nice week! The apartment is spacious and the enormous hospitality of the family has ensured that we had a great time! Superbe location pour découvrir Santa Margherita et ses environs

Un bel appartement fonctionnel avec une vue magnifique sur le golfe Un magnifique jardin très agréable c’est un peu dommage qu’il soit proche d’une route passante mais cela ne gâche rien à la beauté du jardin et à la vue exceptionnelle. Accès possible à Santa Margherita à pied en 15-20min pour descendre 30-35 min pour remonter et accès au parc régional de Portofino pour y faire de belles randonnées. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques, et très réactifs. Encore merci à eux pour leur accueil .

Détente sur les hauteur du golf de Tigullio

Très bon séjour avec une vue superbe sur le golf et la ville le logement est parfait avec tout ce qu'il faut ! avec même un petit jardin extérieur et des jeux pour les enfants au pied de la maison ! Et que dire de notre hote Luciana, Super disponible et toujours de bon conseils ! Merci encore pour l'accueil Top ! Nous y retournerions avec grand bonheur ! Peut etre un jour :D

Fantastic!

Excellant! Location is perfect. The apartment was immaculate and the views from the balconies are beautiful. The kitchen and bathroom had all the necessary essentials. All of the family made us feel so welcome and were so very kind. We enjoyed their company very much!

Excellent stay

We had a great week in "La casa de la abuela". Everything was as expected. Warm welcome and great treatment. The house is spacious and full of light, located in a charming place. I would highly recommend to stay in this place, which is also very well located to explore Cinque Terre and liguria region in general

Fantastic 5 days at Grandma’s House

From the moment Lucia picked us up in Rapallo and helped with the shopping, I knew this stay would be magical. She provided recommendations on things to see and how to catch the bus. We had a lovely evening making pizza and focaccia. Giulia and Guido we’re kind and it truly felt like a family dinner with great food! We saw beautiful sunrises from the balcony and enjoyed our morning coffee or evening wine from these seats. Don’t forget to walk up to San Lorenzo square and admire the beautiful church. Bus transport is inexpensive and convenient. We loved our holiday with Lucia and family.

Lovely stay at Grandmother's House

Spotlessly clean house in a lovely location. It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle with easy access to some beautiful places.........Camogli, Portofino, Santa Margherita to name but a few. We had a wonderful time exploring by car, boat and on foot. Lucia, Giulia and Guido made us feel so welcome and are a lovely family.

Live like an Italian

We arrived here for four nights at the tail end of two weeks in Italy. This home is at the very top of the hill so you have views in every direction. We loved sitting out on the tiny terrace off the kitchen watching the view and the neighborhood. Everyone was very friendly and there was always something to see. We had a little trouble with the Internet one night and the owners quickly arrived with a very nice bottle of chilled prosecco and two chilled glasses. We enjoyed that very much and no longer cared about the Internet. If you want the experience of living like a local, this is the place.

Wonderful owners and place

We had a great stay at Grandmothers House. There is AC in the bedrooms if you need it and you can close the outside shutters so it is nice and quiet and dark. A great place to explore Portofino and Cinque Terre. We walked into Santa Margherita Ligure which was a nice walk but I would recommend the bus on the way back as it is all up hill. We did the cooking class and dinner which was so good. Not only was the food excellent but having dinner with Lucia, Guila & Guido was so much fun. They are such nice genuine people. Duna the dog was friendly as well. We made the Ligurian pasta with pesto, green beans and potatoes, totally recommended!!

I am about to describe myself  hoping to give you a complete self poltrait!
I am Lucia a dinamic middle age madam even though sometimes I have one’s head in the cloud. Last but not the least I always want to be up-to-date about everything!!!
For example; Now I am learning english to communicate with my guests.  I have to face up that it is not easy to learn it but nothing is impossible.
For my guests, who loves and want discover Liguria, I prepared some guided tour in order to not miss anything!
Cooking is my passion … When I cook all my senses are implicated. I am gourmand and I cook well too, my family affirm.
I would like to, during this encounters, give some ligurian and italian cooking lessons to my guests …
I would like to do too many thing s in my life and I have a lot of ideas may be too many for my ages but I feel like I have half of them.

We choose to rent  the third floor of our house where we grew up and which reminds us a lot of happy memories. Where we want to give the opportunities of our guests to stay and live with us in order to share our traditions, our tastes and the beauty of our region!
Our house is located in the heart of Liguria in front of the Gulf Tigullio from where it is possible to reach the most beautiful touristic places of the nearby.
I love my region and I think is perfect in every seasons: during  autumn is warm and you can taste wine and our olive oil, during winter is calm  and temperate, during spring our region is in bloom and hot is getting on the way and in summer  sea and people whisperings are the attraction .
In order to have a wonderful holiday you can spend some time with us so you will arrive as guests and you will depart as friends!

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig

Our house is unpretentious.
It has not been built for tourists but for our family and during the years we tried to improuve it. The only thing  that didn’t change is our wondreful view that you can admire from our kitchen balcony.
Moreover you can relax amoung olive trees and in summer you can drink a glass of wine, some Focaccia and pizza home made thanks to our wood oven a good way to get acquainted with us!
But for us the most important thing is to share our simplicity and openness with you all!
