Esther and Glen were great. They were super accommodating, the property is beautiful, we only have good things to say about our time there. 10/10 will and have recommended to anyone that is staying in the area.

Can’t put into words and photos doesn’t do the property justice. Absolutely a beautiful hidden oasis. Skip and the kind folks at the Hacienda were more than accommodating and kind. I’m not saying anymore, too many visitors might edge us out!

Awesome property and experience

We absolutely loved staying at Hacienda Xcaret. The hosts are kind, resourceful and attentive. The property is a perfect location for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the typical beach and resort experience and who prefer a beautiful and peaceful tropical oasis that is next to the amazing Xcaret parks and also easy access to Tulum, Coba, cenotes, beaches any everything else in the area. The property is spotless, and very well maintained and updated with modern amenities and very secure and safe. The pictures posted on the web profile are nice but do not do the place justice as the property is even more beautiful. We hope to return again soon!

Loved our stay at Studio Xcaret

Glen , Ester and their staff were very accommodating and helpful throughout our month long stay at Hacienda Xcaret. They gave us helpful advice and where-to-go /what-to-do hints and suggestions. They provided without charge comfy backpack travel chairs to take to the beach and a boogie board to ride the waves. Our suite was clean on arrival and a bowl of fresh fruits was on the table to greet us, along with some cold milk and even some beers in the fridge. All were welcoming to our little travelling companion dog and he got along just fine with their 3. The bed was deliciously comfortable and the air conditioning cooled the space quickly and quietly. We loved watching the spider monkeys on their near daily noisy pass overhead at the property. The pool was set beautifully on the property, but if we had any complaints about our stay it would be that the pool did seem to be too chilly to do any more than a wade. We understand that it is situated basically in a jungle and shaded and extremely hard to keep clean from the falling leaves and debris. It was great to just sit beside the pool to read. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Studio Xcaret to anyone contemplating a stay near Playa del Carmen. Norm, Shena and Senor Buffett

Norm, Shena and Buffett are so far our best guest and friends. They were so nice and kind all the time and so easy going. Their cute traveller companion dog Buffett was very quiet, clean and well behaved all the time. When they left the studio was clean and in a great condition. They are always welcome to stay at the Hacienda and I definitely recommend them for other futures stays. Thank you so much for staying with us and sharing a precious time of your vacation with us. A very beautiful old villa, located in the jungle. Friendly owners and staff. It is advisable to rent a car, because. located away from shops and shopping centers. Who wants to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city - recommend.

2weeks in paradise

Based on the VRBO listing we had high expectations for our stay and our expectations were exceeded from the moment we arrived. Our unit, one of 2 studios located adjacent to the main house, was beautiful, comfortable and secluded. We took advantage of the pool almost every day and read our books on the loungers while feeling that we were in a jungle retreat. This feeling was reinforced by the regular visits of a troop of spider monkeys in the tree tops. We had a car to tour the area and it was easy access to the main north south highway. But our visit to Hacienda Xcaret was made even more special by our hosts Skip, Esther and Glen. They made us feel welcome from the first moments and by the end of our stay we are friends!

Oasis!

Hacienda Xcaret is an oasis tucked behind high walls! The landscaping and interior design create a cultural experience with lush green vegetation and artistic touches throughout! Glen and Esther are wonderful hosts! We rented a car and started each day very early to stay a step ahead of the crowds while sightseeing (Chichen Itza and ruins at Tulum). The beaches in the reserves south of Hacienda Xcaret are beautiful and quiet! After a day of sightseeing we returned to our studio with groceries and beverages where we were able to relax! Glen and Esther provide beach chairs, beach towels, snorkeling gear, cooler, umbrella for your trips to the beach. DEFINITELY go to Xcaret! A short drive from Hacienda Xcaret. It is an amazing experience!

Tom and Karen's exceptional stay in studio 1

We came as guests and left as friends! Karen and I and our little Yorkie had a wonderful stay at Hacienda Xcaret studio 1 in February. The room was very nice as with a great bed. The location is beautiful and is like an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Playa Del Carmen. The buildings on the property are beautiful and so are the grounds. If you don't have a rental car, the bus (collectivo) is a short walk from the property. The collectivo will get you into Playa in 10 minutes and to beaches south in 10 to 15 minutes. Of course, a car would be nice to have (we didn't have one) and can be rented in Playa for as little as $25 per day including insurance. We know this because some friends did exactly that. The grocery store Sorianas is a 5 minute drive. A taxi back from Sorianas costs 160 pesos. A taxi back from Playa is $180 pesos. As we said the room and the grounds are beautiful but the best part is the wonderful treatment that one can expect from the hosts who are really nice people. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

AMAZING!

My husband and I were here during Christmas 2014 and we still talk about what an amazing vacation we had. This property is just as it claims, a true gem. As are the owners. The suite was so clean and comfortable. The owners are available whenever needed yet respect your privacy. They are very knowledgeable about the area and can direct you to the best local pubs, restaurants, beaches and more. The grounds of this property are immaculate, very romantic. As my husband and I are very adventurous we had no problem catching local transportation to go into Playa Del Carmen or to the local super market. A vehicle definitely would make the trips easier but for the adventurous, "local" is the only way to go. Thank you so much, we will, and have been back!! ;-)

Peaceful, spacious and elegant studio

The studio was beautifully finished, with great attention paid to cleanliness and upscale details. Great mattress and quality sheets. The towels were plush, something you would choose for your own home. The owners are onsite, available but only so much as you would like. You have a strong sense of privacy due to the lush grounds, complete with a beautiful, large, bubbling fountain. They entertained once while we were there, and invited us to join in, which was lovely of them. There are beach towels, snorkel equipment and chairs available when you are ready to get to the ocean, a short 20 minute drive to an almost private beach at a turtle refuge. We spent our first five days just lounging on the property, which gives you an idea of how relaxing it is. This whole experience couldn't be more different than that which the Riviera Maya resorts offer. I strongly recommend a car, we had thought of doing without and it would have been difficult. Highly recommended.

Hidden gem

We spent the second part of our trip at the hacienda and just loved it. Such a private location yet so close to all that Playa has to offer. We couldn't have been more pleased with the access to everything we wanted to experience. We walked to Xplor (not to be missed). The highway was easy to access in order to visit all the different places of interest. We are the kind of people who go on vacation to get away from people and get into natural habitats. This place gave us exactly what we were looking for.

Owners are wonderful people and they have built a beautiful property! The studios are superbly decorated and quiet. The king beds are very comfortable, and the a/c works perfectly, keeping an even temperature without any loud on/off noises for a great nights sleep. The grounds and pool are very pretty, both natural looking and inviting. Lastly, the property is centrally located and easy to find-less than a quarter mile from the main road-but you'd never know it. A great value!
