Perfect Getaway

Our stay was absolutely amazing!! Had an issue with the water, but was fixed in a timely manner. Since I’m a Chef, the kitchen was perfect except I would suggest having a few more utensils such as a whisk, rubber spatula and larger skillets. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Family Vacation

This house is awesome! Very Clean, location was great. Plenty of room as we were not falling over each other, played plenty of games and cards which were provided. Spent a lot of time on very spacious porch with the whole family just talking after dinner. We brought our own boat which we docked there, and the guys went fishing every day! I spent time on the dock just sitting and reading by the water, very peaceful! It was a great week!

This property was excellent! It literally had everything and beyond what we were expecting. The house was very clean and had all the supplies again beyond what was expected. We had a few days with rain so the large garage was great to play games in along with picnic tables that was under roofing to keep us dry was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this property and Kim was extremely prompt and a pleasure to communicate with when we had questions. Consider this property for your next get away!

This lake house did not disappoint. The pictures are nothing compared to the real thing. You step into a high-quality design architecture digest-worthy home. From the landscaping, and beautifully decorated home to the well-stocked kitchen. I usually have to buy a ton of items to make my family comfortable however not at Kim's Lake house. They thought of everything. Ample silverware, toiletries, cushions, TVs, and even a reading and computer nook. You never know how much a home could bring you joy until you stay at a home like this. We were in love with the lake view, and the quiet peaceful neighborhood. Slept so comfortably in the king-size bed together with all the other rooms so well portioned and positioned in the home. The master suite was so comfortable that just that room would have been enough for me for the entire stay. All I can say is thank you Kim for your kindness with our last-minute updates. Your prompt responses throughout made this so easy. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with me and my family. I hope to return again very soon.

Lakeside tranquility getaway with friends

I've stayed at many VRBOs over the years but Blue Oar has really set the bar high for me from now on. Firstly, the location setting was perfect. A quiet street with gorgeous lake views that can be enjoyed from the large front porch with comfy seating to include a relaxing porch swing. There is plenty of parking. And lots of outside space as well, not only there at the house, but at the private beach area that has a cool firepit and a dock with seating. When we were there it was too early in the season to enjoy the lake but during the summer I imagine it would be amazing with the many water activities you could enjoy. I want to complement the owners for how well appointed their rental is. We enjoyed cooking several of our meals in the kitchen and it was as well appointed as any of our own homes. Everything you could need is provided. The bathrooms were equally well appointed and the house is so charming. We loved the living area, with the comfortable couches and seating and a couple of us needed to check into work and made good use of the little office/library room just off the front entryway area. They had also provided many board games and we used the dining table area in the evenings to enjoy playing games. There were little extras here and there throughout the house that we discovered during our stay. Rarely do you find a rental property where you feel "at home" but Blue Oar felt like a home away from home for me, and the rest of our friend group as well. Thank you!

Perfect Getaway

We had a girls weekend here. The house is decorated so cute inside and out! We all had plenty of comfortable space and more importantly when 6 of us needed to shower there was plenty of hot water! Wonderful spot for a girls weekend!

This was our second visit to the beautiful Blue Oar. This time we were celebrating our 40 year college reunion at nearby SUNY Fredonia. The Blue Oar is a wonderfully updated older home, tastefully decorated and very well appointed. It was clean, comfortable and very warm and inviting. We will be back and would highly recommend.

Great stay at Blue Oar!

My mother in law loved her weekend getaway at the Blue Oar to celebrate her birthday. The house was very clean, nicely decorated, and had plenty of space for a family weekend. We spent an entire day using the outdoor amenties at the house. The fire pit, paddleboat, and kayaks were all great. If we are ever in the area again, we will absolutely come back!

I drove by this house in the summer of 2013 and knew I had to renovate it into something beautiful! The area is a quiet gem that guests find very relaxing. Its a low key residential family-friendly community. I hope you enjoy it!!

This area is so quiet and beautiful and the people of this small Western NY small town are so nice! I fell in love instantly as I'm sure you will too. In the summers, drive to Bemus Point on Chautauqua Lake and have drinks at the Hotel Lenhart in the rocking chairs on the porch and watch the sunset and then head over to The Fish or EBC for dinner. Saturdays are great days for beer tasting and live music at Southern Tier Brewery! Sundays are usually spent at The Blue Oar just relaxing and swimming in the lake. In the winter hit up Holiday Valley ski resort and then head to Ellicottville Brewery for drinks and dinner. Miles of groomed snowmobiling trails all throughout Chautauqua County! Tarbox Road Recording Studio is a 4 minute drive. Lily Dale is only a 4 minute drive. The Red House Wedding Barn is a 2 min drive. Check out the new 3 Lakes cafe right in town!
