Our experience
I wouldn’t have chosen this place if someone else had the experience I did. (1) found bed bug on pillow on bed 1.5 hours after checking in, (2) caught bed bug in ziplock for proof, (3) no items or people went on bed except for my 3 showered young children wrapped in towels from the condo (4) we left quickly and searched for hotel (5) owner next morning asked us to continue our stay and see if we find any more bugs. We said no way (6) husband met owner at property with live bed bug and searched beds for more bugs (did not find any but did not search carpets, couches, etc) (7) owner said he’d give us a full refund and we booked another property for the month (8) one week later owner changed his mind because he now thinks we brought the bed bug into the condo and he tells VRBO we were using property to eat and store food (this was incorrect because we didn’t have access. Hundreds of dollars of unused groceries were left with owner’s knowledge because we had nowhere to put them) (9) ten days after I found the bug, owner had an exterminator in to check property. Exterminator said no bed bug evidence found, owner gives us a 40% refund and invites us to finish our stay. We declined since we already settled into another home for our month long stay and we still didn’t feel comfortable staying here (10) upset because our 1.5 hours in this home was full of stress to start our family vacation and we lost money but thankful 1.5 months after finding bed bug, we haven’t seen another!
